Novritsch SSP1 CO2 Hi-Capa GBB Pistol; Pre Two-Tone

Novritsch
Code: SSP1-PRETWOTONE
179.49
  • Full metal construction
  • 6.03mm Tightbore inner barrel
  • Full steel hammer group - Maximum reliability

If you're searching for your first Airsoft sidearm and want it to be a real killer, the Novritsch SSP1 CO2 Hi-Capa GBB Pistol; Pre Two-Tone is exactly that. Boasting full metal construction with the unique Novritsch external aesthetic, the SSP1 is also thoroughly pre-upgraded on the inside, giving it a longer lifespan and significantly improved performance when compared to the average GBB pistol.

Inside, you'll find a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel paired with the impressive Novritsch Purple HOP-up bucking housed in an alloy HOP-up unit, providing exceptional accuracy and range for a pistol and allowing heavier BBs to be used for further long range performance.

All of the hammer group components are constructed from steel, giving you a massive reliability advantage and seeing to known weak points in other GBB sidearms. The loading nozzle is reinforced in key places to extend the SSP1's lifespan and the magazine has been enhanced with the Novritsch gas route bucking, providing a tighter seal with the nozzle for improvements in shot-to-shot consistency and reduced gas wastage.

Being finished in Pre-two tone blue, this version of the SSP1 is ideal for those who don't yet have a UKARA membership or other VCRA defence, or those who appreciate an eye-catching sidearm with a stylish look. In its CO2-powered form, the SSP1 is a bit too hot FPS-wise for skirmish use during the summer, but throw a Novritsch 30rnd Magazine for Hi-Capa GBB Pistols; V3 in there and you'll get around 320 FPS +/- 10% on 0.2g BBs, ideal for skirmishing at any site in the country. Keep your CO2 mag handy though, it will really come into its own during the winter months when everyone else's sidearm is gassing out!

Description

If you want to get into Airsoft with a pistol as your first gun but want something a cut above the average, the Novritsch SSP1 CO2 Hi-Capa GBB Pistol; Pre Two-Tone is ideal. This GBB Hi-Capa boasts full metal construction with a uniquely modern design and thoroughly pre-upgraded internals, resulting in a real beast of a GBB pistol you'll never need to upgrade.

Inside, you'll find a steel hammer group, a considerable improvement over other Hi-Capas when it comes to long-term reliability. The nozzle is reinforced and easily capable of running either CO2 or Green Gas. The magazine includes the Novritsch enhanced gas route bucking pre-installed, improving gas efficiency and consistency, resulting in incredible accuracy downrange. The HOP-up rubber is the impressive Novritsch Purple HOP-up bucking installed in an alloy HOP-up chamber offering ample range and the ability to shoot heavier BBs (0.28g+). If you want to jump into Airsoft feet first and start with a seriously mean sidearm, the Novritsch SSP1 CO2 Hi-Capa GBB Pistol; Pre Two-Tone is the one for you!

Starting at the tip of the outer barrel we can see 12mm CCW female threads, meaning with the correct adapter (available here) you can add a tracer unit or suppressor to the SSP1 to hone it in for the battlefield role you set for it. The outer barrel itself boasts the unique Novritsch spiral fluting along its length, reducing weight and adding a side of style to your sidearm. At the chamber area, the outer barrel is marked ".45 ACP", a nice addition to realism discretely engraved, just like real Hi-Capa and 1911 pistols.

The slide surrounds the outer barrel, a unique Novritsch design with deep serrations at the front and rear, ideal for gloved or ungloved shooters. The slide profile is slightly reduced just above the forward serrations, adding visual interest to the externals and giving the SSP1 a style all of its own. The upper corners of the slide are bevelled to reduce unneeded material for weight reduction and to give the SSP1 a sleeker look than the average 'Capa, giving you the aesthetic of a custom slide without spending any more cash!

On the top of the slide, we are equipped with white dot open iron sights, designed similarly to real steel "Novak" sights found on MEU and MARSOC 1911 pistols once issued to US Marine Corps Special Forces. The prominent white dots on each of the sights allow them to be acquired easily in low light and the sloped design of the rear sight reduces potential snagging when the SSP1 is drawn quickly from a holster. Being a "Pre-Two Tone" pistol, the slide is very nicely finished in bold blue, a strong and consistent finish well in keeping with the superb quality of the other external parts.

At the rear of the slide, mounted to the frame we have the skeletonised hammer of the SSP1, constructed from steel to ensure this pistol lasts a lifetime of heavy use. The hammer is texted so it can be manually cocked or decocked and its skeletonised design works well with the overall modern styling of the SSP1.

Moving downwards, we come to the frame, a standard Hi-Capa 5.1 layout with the same modular frame/grip assembly and familiar but extended controls. The grip itself has oblong style recesses and is slightly textured, making for a comfortable feel in the hands whether you skirmish with gloves on or prefer a more intimate experience and all the knuckle pain that goes along with it! The rear of the grip, known as the "hammer spring housing" is constructed from high density polymer and has a square-based pyramidal texture, adding even more grip to keep the SSP1 firmly in your grasp during energetic movements.

The slide release catch is on the left side of the frame, extended and textured on its surface so your speed won't be limited if you have smaller hands. The safety catch is also extended and present on either side, perfect for left or right-handed shooters. At the rear of the grip, the standard 1911/Hi-Capa beavertail grip safety is present but in an extended form to ensure you are always able to disengage the safety quickly with a proper grip. The magazine release is located on the left side of the grip, a relatively low-profile design but easily reached from a firing grip with the advantage that its low profile prevents accidental mag drops in the field.

At the front of the frame, we are treated to a 20mm Picatinny rail meaning you can add an aiming laser or tactical flashlight to the SSP1 with no need to source extra adapters or other fiddly bits. The frame rail is recessed in the centre to reduce weight, and inside the recess, you will find the Novritsch branding, F mark and model details. On the right side of the frame rail, we have "NOVRITSCH SSP1" laser engraved in the Novritsch unique font, making the SSP1 stand out and allowing you to show off your pistol's brand pedigree!

Inside, the SSP1 has the usual Novritsch complement of reinforced and upgraded internals. These include a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel paired with the Novritsch Purple HOP-up bucking, providing impressive performance down range along with the ability to run heavier BBs than most sidearms can (0.28g+). The hammer group is entirely made from steel, seeing to known failure points in GBB pistol design and ensuring your SSP1 lasts a lifetime of heavy use. The magazine has been enhanced with the Novritsch gas route bucking, improving efficiency and consistency, resulting in improved accuracy and less wasted gas with each shot.

When tested, we found the SSP1 CO2 shoots slightly above most site energy limits with its first few shots, settling down to around 350 FPS with 0.2g BBs afterwards. As such, we recommend running Novritsch 30rnd Magazines for Hi-Capa GBB Pistols; V3 during summer to avoid falling foul of site rules and using your CO2 magazine during winter months to keep the SSP1 trucking long after other sidearms have gone into hibernation. You won't need to change any parts other than the magazine to switch between green gas and CO2, and Novritsch recommends not using CO2 when the ambient temperature exceeds 15°C to avoid causing premature wear and pushing muzzle energy up too far for skirmishing.

Those who want their first sidearm to be their last sidearm, the Novritsch SSP1 CO2 Hi-Capa GBB Pistol; Pre Two-Tone is one to watch! This beast is built like a tank and shoots on par with most upgraded pistols you'll encounter, meaning you don't have to worry about being disadvantaged when you first hit the field with the SSP1!

Special Instructions

Novritsch recommends NOT using CO2 magazines in ambient temperatures exceeding 15°C to avoid causing excess wear and tear to the pistol.

When chronographed on a warm day, we found that the first few shots from the SSP1 CO2 were above most skirmish sites' muzzle energy limits. As such, we recommend using the SSP1 with the Novritsch 30rnd Magazine for Hi-Capa GBB Pistols; V3 and green gas during summer and switching to CO2 during winter to stay within most sites' limits. When tested with the Green Gas Magazine V3, we achieved around 310 FPS +/- 10% using 0.2g ASG Blaster BBs and VORSK V6 Green Gas.
