  • Full metal construction
  • Three/Six BBs per shot
  • Real wood pistol grip

If you're an unconventional Airsofter who loves to break the mould, the Golden Eagle AT8890 M870 "Purge" Gas Shotgun should make you smile! This menacing build boasts full metal construction, a meaty breaching stand-off muzzle device/choke up front, a CNC aluminium M-LOK handguard and a real wood sawn-off pistol grip. Based on the TM M870 internal design and fuelled via Green Gas, the M870 "Purge" offers 3 or 6 BBs per shot just like the TM, but make no mistake, this ain't your grandaddy's shotgun. A quick glance at its exterior makes that clear!

Things start to get rather interesting when you add the included chainsaw grip and M4 AEG magazine adapter to the M870 "Purge", giving it considerably more capacity than other shotguns and a style all of its own. This means no more fumbling with shotgun shells every 10 shots, simply slap a new M4 mag in if you ever get to the bottom of the included 300-round high-cap. The chainsaw grip is unconventional but allows the "Purge" to be racked very, very quickly, great for clearing rooms with a "victory through superior firepower" mindset. The result is the uncontested king of hip-fire shotguns, ready to lay waste to your CQB foes in an indiscriminate manner!

A platform that will definitely turn heads in the safe zone and make the enemy flee in-game, the M870 "Purge" is practically peerless in its role and makes the perfect finishing touch to a post-apocalypse or Juggernaut loadout. If you play by your own rules and aren't afraid to try something new, the Golden Eagle AT8890 M870 "Purge" Gas Shotgun is the exciting primary you need!

Description

When unloading the AT8890 shotgun, it is important to remove the M4 Magazine adapter as BBs are retained inside when the magazine itself is removed. To remove the retained BBs, pull the BB retainer on the adapter away from the feed port and pour the BBs out..

If you're after a pump action shotgun which makes a statement before you even pull the trigger, the Golden Eagle AT8890 M870 "Purge" Gas Shotgun is the one! This full metal pump-action offers 3 or 6 BBs per shot for a realistic shotgun spread, based on the TM M870 internal design and fuelled by standard Green gas.

Inside, the M870 "Purge" is based around a proven design, but on the outside, this thing is something else! Up front, we have a meaty breaching choke followed by an M-LOK handguard, with a real wood sawn-off grip bringing up the rear. Included in the box is a "chainsaw" style grip and M4 AEG magazine adapter, allowing you to hip-fire like there is no tomorrow and feed the "Purge" from common M4 magazines, increasing capacity considerably and avoiding that fiddly shotgun shell reload. If you're an aggressive CQB skirmisher and want game-dominating firepower in an unconventional package, the Golden Eagle AT8890 M870 "Purge" Gas Shotgun will make you very happy!

Starting at the front, we are met with a super-aggressive breacher-style "stand off device", a device which mimics those fitted to real shotguns designed to breach hinges and locks. This fits the menacing aesthetic of the build perfectly, but it is rather sharp. We advise being cautious when running with this thing! The muzzle choke mounts to the threads at the tip of the barrel, but these threads are much larger than standard 14mm CCW threading. If you need a tracer unit for this beast, we recommend the Acetech Quark-R which fits like a glove and only enhances the M870 Purge's intimidation factor!

Below the 12.5-inch outer barrel, we can find the mock magazine tube, which runs back to the receiver to realistically replicate the real M870. At the front of the mag tube, we have a Harris-style sling loop which can be used to mount a Harris sling swivel or a loop of paracord for a two-point sling setup. The front cap of the mag tube can also be unscrewed to reveal internal storage for a single 30-round Shotgun shell magazine. Positioned where it is, this will be awkward to get to mid-firefight but the included M4/AR-15 AEG magazine adapter sidesteps that issue nicely!

Running around the mock mag tube, we have a CNC aluminium M-LOK handguard which allows flashlights, lasers or vertical grips to be mounted wherever the user desires. The M-LOK handguard also allows the included chainsaw grip to be mounted, a unique accessory which is ideal for hip-firing quickly to fill the room with BBs upon entry. The chainsaw grip is supplied in two parts which mount on either side of the M-LOK handguard and is made from strong high-density polymer, well up to the task of rapid fire.

This black polymer piece has ridges on to ensure a sturdy grip when racking the Type 870 M8872. When racked back, it makes a satisfying clicking noise, which is also heard when pushing it back into place and arming the shotgun. It runs on alloy cocking arms just below the outer barrel and is surprisingly easy to rack for such a menacing platform. The fast pump action can easily put a huge number of rounds down range in a short timeframe, only limited by the 30-second shell capacity.

Next, we come to the receiver, constructed from one piece of alloy and has a black finish applied. On the left side, we find the mock ejection port, which is where spent shells eject in the real M870. With the pump handle is racked back, the ejection port opens slightly and you can access the load selector switch. This allows you to choose either 3 BBs per shot or a punishing 6 per shot, giving you a realistic shotgun-style spread so you can get the first shot off when breaching a room and hit moving targets with ease.

Underneath the receiver, we can find the M4 magazine adapter loaded into the usual shell port on the bottom. The shell port door has already been removed and isn't included, as it would prevent the mag adapter from being inserted if present. The magazine release is on the left side of the adapter, ideally positioned for retention reloads. The lack of a shell door also allows you to mount a Tri-shot shotgun drum magazine instead of the M4 mag adapter if you want to be really mean!

While the M870 "Purge" can still be fed using a standard shotgun shell magazine with the adapter removed, one of its major advantages is its unrivalled capacity via M4 AEG magazines, giving you far more pump-action fun than the enemy expects! The adapter can be removed by pressing the mock bolt release on the left side of the trigger guard but we recommend keeping it in as long as you're on our team!

On each side of the trigger guard, the M870 "Purge" features a push-through safety catch, just like the real thing. When the catch protrudes from the right side of the trigger guard, the shotgun is on safe, and the trigger is locked. When protruding on the left side, it is ready to fire, helpfully indicated with a red ring around the safety catch itself. While we're talking safety, it is important to remove the M4 magazine adapter when unloading the M870 "Purge", as BBs are retained inside even with the magazine itself removed.

At the rear, we come to the sawn-off style pistol grip, made from real wood in layers stained in different shades. This grip looks fantastic and works perfectly with the chainsaw grip, especially given its built-in QD sling socket and the included QD swivel. This allows a single point sling to be mounted, the ideal sling solution for an unconventional beast like this. The grip also serves as the gas reservoir, with the fill valve positioned just above the QD socket. Simply point the barrel down and index your gas can with the valve to fill it, just like a GBB pistol magazine.

Inside, the AT8890 is based on the Tokyo Marui M870 design, great news for those who like a proven system. The HOP-up is fixed and optimised for 0.25g BBs, offering impressive range for a CQB-optimised platform along with its killer shotgun-style spread. The option to run 3 or 6 BBs per trigger pull is present, but the gas tank is now fixed inside the grip, a change made by Golden Eagle to reduce the potential of leaks developing over time.

If you're a loose cannon cop who doesn't play by the rules, the Golden Eagle AT8890 M870 "Purge" Gas Shotgun is the primary for you. Remarkably effective in close quarters with a style all of its own, you won't make any friends on the opposing team running the M870 "Purge"!
