If you're looking for a longer platform for outdoor skirmishing with no compromise when it comes to agility, check out the G&G Armament PRK9L Draco PCC AEG! Boasting full metal construction and a unique AK-based external design, the PRK9L is inspired by real steel Pistol Caliber Carbines popular in the 3-Gun competition sphere. Naturally, handling is impeccable, with all the ergonomic pitfalls of the AK truly cured, extended fire controls for speedy manipulation and an ultra-light extended M-LOK handguard well suited to modern shooting stances.

Inside, we're equipped with the proven G&G GT Advanced series internals, making the PRK9L 11.1V LiPo-ready straight out of the box. The gearbox shell is alloy and well-machined throughout, the 18:1 steel gearset runs on 8mm ball bearing bushings and the whole setup is driven by the renowned G&G Irfit 25K Orange high-speed motor, resulting in a super-snappy trigger response and way above average rate of fire. G&G's programmable MOSFET/ETU system also features inside, ensuring your electrical components run at maximum efficiency and offering the option to run 3-round burst mode instead of full auto.

As far as AK platforms go, the PRK9L is utterly unique, feeding from 9mm style magazines with sleek styling we're surprised an AK-derived design can pull off. If you need a real head-turner of a primary with killer performance and loads of accessory options, you can't go wrong with the G&G Armament PRK9L Draco PCC AEG!

Description

If you love real steel "3-Gun" style platforms, the G&G Armament PRK9L Draco PCC AEG will suit you perfectly! Based on the AK rifle's external design, the PRK9L is inspired by popular Pistol Caliber Carbines (PCC) used by competition shooters in a variety of settings. A longer platform which is remarkably fast to point, the PRK9L makes a killer skirmish platform, bristling with ergonomic enhancements to iron out all the creases in the original AK rifle layout.

Externally, the PRK9L is full metal with plenty of steel parts in the mix, equipped with a 14mm CCW male threaded barrel, 20mm Picatinny railed gas tube cover, extended M-LOK handguard and 20mm Picatinny railed receiver. All of the controls are extended for fast actuation and the charging handle folds flat when not in use to reduce snags. The pistol grip is an ergonomic design, far more comfortable than a standard AK grip and we have the iconic AK-74 steel folding stock at the rear, mounted to a modern button-less folding mechanism.

Inside, we are equipped with G&G's GT Advanced series internals, based around a reinforced version 3 gearbox. The 18:1 steel gearset runs on 8mm ball bearing bushings and the legendary Irfit 25K Orange motor which gave the ARP9 its intense rate of fire is also present. Backed up by G&G's programmable MOSFET/ETU system, the PRK9L has the same incredible trigger response as the ARP9 along with the option to use 3-round burst mode instead of full auto to save ammo while keeping hit probability optimal. If you're after an unconventional platform with everything a modern rifle needs, the G&G Armament PRK9L Draco PCC AEG hits the mark!

Starting at the front, we can find a unique muzzle brake mounted to the 14mm CCW male barrel threading beneath. The muzzle brake looks fantastic and well suited to the 3-gun styling of the PRK9L PCC but is retained by a grub screw which needs to be removed before unscrewing it. With this removed, you're ready to rock a tracer unit or suppressor if the mission requires it. Immediately behind, we come to the front sight assembly, constructed from alloy with an adjustable front sight post. The front post can be adjusted for elevation using the included tool and is protected on either side with protective wings, ensuring a snag or scrape mid-game doesn't mess with your zero.

The handguard of the PRK9L is constructed from CNC machined aluminium, equipped with M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock with a short section of 20mm Picatinny rail between the gas block and front sight. This 20mm rail section is in practically the perfect spot to mount a DBAL or PEQ laser unit, allowing those who like to "gucci-up" their platform to dress it how they please. While it may be an extended handguard, it is remarkably light and easy to point, giving you extra length for modern shooting stances and plenty of options when it comes to accessory placement.

To the rear of the handguard, we come to the trunnion block which serves as a mounting point for the convenient hinged top cover instead of the usual AK tangent rear sight. A nice stylistic touch added by G&G is the angled weight reduction grooves on each side of the trunnion; matching the ports on the handguard for a completed look. The hinged top cover is an essential part of a modernised AK design and the old-school tangent sight has been replaced with a railed-mounted aperture sight, providing a surprisingly long sight radius for an AK which makes the irons far more effective.

The aperture rear sight is windage adjustable via the drum on the right side and also offers the choice of two "ghost ring" apertures; one wider for low-light work and full auto fire and a finer aperture for bright conditions and accurate semi-auto. If you're familiar with M4/AR-15 iron sights, you'll find the PRK9L's sight set easy and intuitive to use, far better than standard AK irons.

The hinged top cover is made from steel and features a 20mm Picatinny rail running along its entire length, offering plenty of room for your choice of optical sight setup. The rail is CNC machined from aluminium and secured to the top cover using Allen bolts, as is the case with many US-made AK top covers. Whether you use a red dot sight, red dot and magnifier combo, LPVO or honking great rifle scope, the PRK9L has the space!

The receiver itself follows the standard AK-47/74 format in a round-about sense, though G&G has worked wonders when it comes to ergonomics. The centrally positioned ambidextrous magazine release remains but is extended on either side, making reloads wearing gloves much easier. The steel trigger guard assembly is also enlarged, allowing for thick gloves to be worn without compromising easy access to the trigger.

The fire selector is on the right side, providing 3 modes of fire; safe, full auto and semi-auto, in that order. It is an AK after all! This was designed in to allow for fast selection of semi-auto with a quick sweep down of the selector, and isn't actually because the AK was designed for full auto, as is the common myth. This selector is also an extended design, featuring a stamped extension to allow you to switch modes with your trigger finger without removing your hand from the pistol grip along with a cutout designed to allow the bolt to be locked back on a real steel AK. Each selector position is also marked with engraved Cyrillic letters, just like a real Russian-made AK!

The mock bolt of the PRK9L is a "full travel" design so you can lock the bolt back using the fire selector cutout for easy access to the HOP-up unit. The HOP-up unit itself is a unique rotary design from G&G, offering an improved ability to hold its setting under rapid fire. Pull the charging handle back to access the rotary adjuster and set the PRK9L up for your choice of ammo weight, seeking the flattest possible trajectory. One of the most nifty unique features of the PRK9L is its folding charging handle, reducing snags when compared to standard AK and pairing perfectly with its modern, competitive shooting-inspired furniture.

Moving to the bottom of the receiver, we can find the pistol grip which is an ergonomic design with textured panels on the front that wrap around the sides and discrete thumb ledges on either side permitting ambidextrous operation. The rear features a checkered panel, providing extra gripping qualities for secure wet-weather use. This grip is a considerable improvement over standard AK grips, offering a great combination of modern aesthetics, comfort and strength.

At the rear, we can find a steel AK-74 style skeleton stock with a sling point on the right side, ready to be paired with a front sling point and two-point sling. This stock differs from the original AK-74 stock in that it omits the usual button and catch folding system in favour of a more modern button-less folding system similar to modern 1913/20mm Picatinny interface stocks used on the MPX and MCX.

The AK-74 style stock is mounted to the receiver via a folding base, meaning if you need to take some tight corners in CQB, you can swing the stock over to the left side for close quarters. To fold the stock, simply lift it up, bracing your thumb on the receiver and it will fold to the side and lock in place. The perk of this buttonless folding system is there are no fiddly catches or buttons to find under pressure or accidentally press; simply lift the stock and swing it around and you're ready to rock.

Inside, the PRK9L is based around G&G's proven GT Advanced series internals, including a reinforced V3 gearbox shell, 18:1 steel gears running on 8mm ball bearing bushings and the G3 MOSFET/ETU system, allowing you to program the trigger for 3 round burst instead of full auto. Also inside is the much-lauded G&G Orange Irfit 25K high-speed motor, the powerhouse motor behind the legendary ARP9, ARP556 and SSG1 platforms.

The cycle control and low voltage cutoff functions of the ETU also allow 11.1V LiPo batteries to be used, giving the PRK9L a far faster trigger response and rate of fire than the average AEG. The newly designed rotary HOP-up unit shows plenty of long range potential too, coupled with G&G's green cold-resistant HOP-up bucking which works fantastically in all ambient temperatures.

If you're into modern 9mm PCC platforms and want one in AK flavour, the G&G Armament PRK9L Draco PCC AEG is exactly that. Outfitted with ultra modern furniture and ready to let rip at a high rate thanks to its 11.1V LiPo ready internals and superb high-speed motor, the PRK9L Draco PCC is the unconventional platform you didn't know you needed!
