  • Full metal construction
  • Programmable MOSFET
  • It's like an AK but smaller!

If you're looking for an ultra-compact CQB primary and you're an AK kinda guy, the G&G Armament PRK9 RTS Nano Draco AEG belongs in your arsenal! This full metal beast is inspired by real steel AK Draco pistols, the PAK-9 Pistol and the PP-19 SMG, the result being absolutely unique! A squat, menacing AK-derived design, the PRK9 feeds from unique 9mm style magazines showcasing mock rounds through its clear polymer shell for maximum realism.

Inside, we're equipped with the proven G&G GT Advanced series internals, making the PRK9 11.1V LiPo-ready straight out of the box. The gearbox shell is alloy and well-machined throughout, the 18:1 steel gearset runs on 8mm ball bearing bushings and the whole setup is driven by the renowned G&G Irfit 25K Orange high-speed motor, resulting in a super-snappy trigger response and way above average rate of fire. G&G's programmable MOSFET/ETU system also features inside, ensuring your electrical components run at maximum efficiency and offering the option to run 3-round burst mode instead of full auto.

On the outside, this lil guy is very well equipped, rocking a 20mm Picatinny railed handguard, railed receiver top cover, 14mm CCW male threaded barrel and side folding AR buffer tube with the G&G GOS V4 sliding stock. If you've been tempted by an ARP9 thanks to its fantastic performance but prefer the AK look, the G&G Armament PRK9 RTS Nano Draco AEG will suit you perfectly!

Description

If you need something compact to cut corners in CQB but are committed to the AK platform, check this out! The G&G Armament PRK9 RTS is a unique AK-derived design feeding from 9mm style magazines, inspired by the real steel PAK-9 pistol, the PP-19 and short barreled "Micro Draco" AKs from the US civilian tactical scene. Make no mistake, you won't find another SMG which looks quite like this one!

Externally, the PRK9 is full metal with plenty of steel parts in the mix, equipped with a 14mm CCW male threaded barrel, 20mm Picatinny railed handguard and receiver along with a 6 position M4/AR-15 buffer tube mounted on a folding base equipped with G&G's unique low-profile stock design known as the "GOS V4". No matter what you intend to mount to the PRK9 RTS, this little monster is ready!

Inside, we are equipped with G&G's GT Advanced series internals, based around a reinforced version 3 gearbox. The 18:1 steel gearset runs on 8mm ball bearing bushings and the legendary Irfit 25K Orange motor which gave the ARP9 its intense rate of fire is also present. Backed up by G&G's programmable MOSFET/ETU system, the PRK9 has the same incredible trigger response as the ARP9 along with the option to use 3-round burst mode instead of full auto. If the AK design is your bread and butter but you're shopping for an SMG, the G&G PRK9 RTS Nano Draco AEG has your name on it!

Starting at the front, we can find a knurled thread protector concealing 14mm CCW male barrel threading beneath. The thread protector is retained by a grub screw, but with this removed you're ready to rock a tracer unit or suppressor if the mission requires it. Immediately behind, we come to the front sight/gas block assembly, constructed from alloy with an adjustable front sight post. The front post can be adjusted for elevation using the included tool and is protected on either side with protective wings, ensuring a snag or scrape mid-game doesn't mess with your zero.

The handguard of the PRK9 RTS is constructed from CNC machined aluminium, wrapping around the front of the receiver for an extremely solid feel. 20mm Picatinny rails are present at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, ready to be kitted out with vertical or angled foregrips, tactical flashlights or whatever else you wish to mount. Above the handguard, we come to the trunnion block which serves as a mounting point for the convenient hinged top cover instead of the usual AK tangent rear sight. The hinged top cover makes battery access far easier and the rear sight is now a railed-mounted aperture sight, providing a surprisingly long sight radius for such a short platform which makes the irons far more effective.

The hinged top cover is made from steel and features a 20mm Picatinny rail running along its entire length, offering plenty of room for your choice of optical sight setup. The rail is CNC machined from aluminium and secured to the top cover using Allen bolts, as is the case with many US-made AK top covers. Whether it's a red dot sight, red dot and magnifier combo, LPVO or honking great rifle scope, the PRK9 has the space!

As mentioned, the aperture rear sight is rail mounted and windage adjustable, offering the choice of two "ghost ring" apertures; one wider for low-light work and full auto fire and a finer aperture for bright conditions and accurate semi-auto. If you're familiar with M4/AR-15 iron sights, you'll find the PRK9's sight set easy and intuitive to use and their low profile design makes them a perfect fit for this compact platform.

To access the battery compartment of the PRK9, simply press the button on the rear of the receiver and lift the top cover. Inside, you'll find a Deans battery connector to which you mount your battery. We recommend an 11.1V 1200mAh LiPo in AK stick configuration for a perfect fit and top-tier performance. The receiver top cover is quite hefty and can slam shut if you tilt the SMG, so make sure your wiring is clear of the join between the receiver and top cover, along with your fingers and thumbs!

The receiver itself follows the standard AK-47/74 format in a round-about sense, though G&G has worked wonders when it comes to ergonomics. The centrally positioned ambidextrous magazine release remains but is extended on either side, making reloads wearing gloves much easier. The steel trigger guard assembly is also enlarged, allowing for thick gloves to be worn without compromising easy access to the trigger.

The fire selector is on the right side, providing 3 modes of fire; safe, full auto and semi-auto, in that order. It is an AK after all! This was designed in to allow for fast selection of semi-auto with a quick sweep down of the selector, and isn't actually because the AK was designed for full auto, as is the common myth. This selector is also an extended design, featuring a stamped extension to allow you to switch modes with your trigger finger without removing your hand from the pistol grip along with a cutout designed to allow the bolt to be locked back on a real steel AK. Each selector position is also marked with engraved Cyrillic letters, just like a real Russian-made AK!

The mock bolt of the PRK9 is a "full travel" design so you can lock the bolt back using the fire selector cutout for easy access to the HOP-up unit. The HOP-up unit itself is a unique rotary design from G&G, offering an improved ability to hold its setting under rapid fire. Pull the charging handle back to access the rotary adjuster and set the PRK9 up for your choice of ammo weight, seeking the flattest possible trajectory. One of the most nifty unique features of the PRK9 is its folding charging handle, reducing snags when compared to standard AK and pairing perfectly with its modern furniture.

Moving to the bottom of the receiver, we can find the pistol grip which is an ergonomic design with textured panels on the front that wrap around the sides and discrete thumb ledges on either side permitting ambidextrous operation. The rear features a checkered panel, providing extra gripping qualities for secure wet-weather use. This grip is a considerable improvement over standard AK grips, offering a great combination of modern aesthetics, comfort and strength.

At the rear, we can find the prolific M4/AR-15 buffer tube, offering 6 positions of adjustment for the pre-installed GOS V4 stock. The GOS V4 is a unique G&G design inspired by the best of the best in real steel AR stocks, featuring a low profile adjustment lever, a "footman loop" sling slot and a pair of additional slots, either for sling mounting or adding a paracord "A-frame" to reduce snags. The length of pull can be adjusted by pressing the textured lever on the bottom and sliding the stock into your position of choice.

The buffer tube is mounted to the receiver via a folding base, meaning if the PRK9 RTS isn't small enough already, you can swing the stock over to the left side for close quarters. To fold the stock, simply lift it up, bracing your thumb on the receiver and it will fold to the side and lock in place. The perk of this buttonless folding system is there are no fiddly catches or buttons to find under pressure or accidentally press; simply lift the stock and swing it around and you're ready to rock.

Inside, the PRK9 RTS is based around G&G's proven GT Advanced series internals, including a reinforced V3 gearbox shell, 18:1 steel gears running on 8mm ball bearing bushings and the G3 MOSFET/ETU system, allowing you to program the trigger for 3 round burst instead of full auto. Also inside is the much-lauded G&G Orange Irfit 25K high-speed motor, the powerhouse motor behind the legendary ARP9, ARP556 and SSG1 platforms.

The cycle control and low voltage cutoff functions of the ETU also allow 11.1V LiPo batteries to be used, giving the PRK9 a far faster trigger response and rate of fire than the average AEG. The newly designed rotary HOP-up unit shows plenty of long range potential too, coupled with G&G's green cold-resistant HOP-up bucking which works fantastically in all ambient temperatures.

If you're split between an AK platform and an SMG, the PRK9 is the perfect combination! With a look unlike anything else you'll encounter on the field, superb internals which don't need upgrading to compete and solid full metal construction with plenty of steel in the mix, the G&G Armament PRK9 RTS Nano Draco AEG brings big firepower to the table in a bitesize package!

Special Instructions

The PRK9 uses the "rock and lock" magazine insertion method just like a standard AK. This can be quite challenging to master; we recommend practising before carrying out reloads under pressure as there is potential that the magazine can be damaged if inserted incorrectly with force.

The receiver top cover of the PRK9 is hinged but is quite heavy. We recommend being extra careful when using it, keeping all wiring well clear of the join between the receiver and the top cover. Also, ensure your fingers are not in the way when it closes, this hurts quite a bit as we found out during our tests!
