- Full metal construction
- Tri-shot shotgun - 3 BBs per trigger pull
- 3x Fixed HOP-up optimised for 0.2-0.25g BBs
If you are getting tired of CQB skirmishes with an AEG or GBB pistol, a tri-shot shotgun will spice things up! The CYMA CM.373M M1014 M4 Super 90 Shotgun boasts full metal construction and an M1014/M3 Super 90 hybrid design, giving us the looks of the M1014 to complete our British Army or USMC kit with a proven pump-action tri-shot shotgun internal design from Tokyo Marui.
The CM.373M is compatible with standard TM style Airsoft shotgun shells and shoots 3 BBs with each trigger pull, giving you a bit of realistic spread down range, improving hit probability considerably, especially when facing down with fast-moving targets. Make no mistake, using a spring pump action in CQB is similarly challenging to using a sniper rifle outdoors, but if you have what it takes, the CM.373M is one of the best options out there!

Description
The shotgun is a pump action design which fires 3 BBs per trigger pull from 3 independent inner barrels, each with its own fixed HOP-up optimised for 0.2g or 0.25g BBs. If you fancy a change of pace and a challenge, a Tri-shot shotgun can be an asset when it comes to getting the first shot off when clearing a room or landing a hit on fast-moving opponents.
Starting at the tip of the barrel we can see the gaping entrance to the realistically sized 12 gauge barrel, constructed from alloy to maintain a realistic weight, feel and balance. The barrel is not threaded, which means no suppressors or tracer units, but any true shotgun fan would be glad for this! The front iron sight is positioned on top of the barrel, providing a wide and easy-to-acquire front post raised slightly on an M4 Super 90 style post to make it faster to acquire.
Below the barrel, we have an alloy mock magazine tube which is designed to match the real M4 Super 90 perfectly. At the tip of the magazine tube, we have an alloy sling loop which is positioned centrally to make the shotgun easy to carry on a sling for both left and right-handed shooters.
To the rear of the sling point, there is an unusual-looking rocker-style switch; this is the mock fire selector. The real M4 Super 90 is a semi-automatic shotgun, meaning this part is not present on the real thing. CYMAs design for this shotgun is a hybrid of the M4 Super 90 and the M3 Super 90, using the external looks of the popular video game M4/M1014 shotgun which is also issued to the British Army and USMC with the pump action mech of the M3 Super 90.
The real M3 Super 90 is actually a select fire design, offering the option of semi-automatic fire with full-power shotgun shells and pump action with lower-power breaching and less-lethal shells which do not have the power to cycle the M3's inertia-driven blowback system. Unfortunately, Airsoft technology is not quite at the point where we can replicate this, but the inclusion of the mock mode selector/pump lock is a nice nod to realism.
The foregrip/pump is textured and shaped to fit the hand perfectly, allowing for rapid fire despite the relatively strong springs involved in the tri-shot system. To pump this shotgun, you will need to pull the pump all the way back and then push it all the way forward before it will fire. This can be quite difficult to do quickly at first, but a bit of practice will see you shooting plenty fast enough to keep heads down at close range.
The outer barrel has the classic shotgun-style taper towards the tip, being wider at the chamber to contain the pressure from firing in the real thing. The receiver is constructed from alloy, giving the shotgun a realistic centre of balance and ample weight for a more immersive experience. The receiver is featureless on the left side, which is common with shotgun designs as it makes them easy to carry on a sling without creating snag points and causing discomfort for the user.
On the top of the receiver, we can see a 20mm Picatinny rail which a allows red dot sight or scope to be mounted, followed by the rear iron sight, which is mounted to the top rear of the receiver. The rear iron sight is adjustable for windage and elevation and provides a wide aperture which is great for snap shooting and low-light CQB situations.
Over on the right side is where the action is, quite literally! The mock bolt carrier and charging handle can be found protruding through the mock ejection port, and unlike other M4 Super 90 replicas, even the legendary TM, this one moves back and forth as you move the foregrip/pump, making the firing experience that bit more interesting. Below the charging handle, we also have a mock bolt release button which does nothing but is nonetheless an essential part of a realistic-looking M4 Super 90.
On the bottom of the receiver, we can find the trigger guard, trigger, shell door release and safety catch. The trigger is a curved design and has a short but heavy pull, ensuring that when you pull the trigger you actually mean it! The safety catch is built into the trigger guard and is a push-through design. When the textured button protrudes on the right side it means the trigger is locked and the shotgun cannot be fired, and when it protrudes on the left the shotgun is hot and ready to do its business. The safety is marked in red around its circumference which shows when the shotgun is in "dangerous" mode, meaning you can check the condition of the shotgun visually by looking for the red marked safety button and check it in low light by feeling which side the button protrudes from.
The shell door release is positioned on the right side of the trigger guard and is nicely positioned well within reach of the trigger finger when the shotgun is held in a firing grip. Pressing the release forwards will open the shell door and allow the shell to drop down slightly, where it will be retained. This means you can easily retrieve a spent shell from the shell port and load a new one in with a single hand, and you also have the option of "stripping and ripping", i.e. throwing the spent shell clear of the action to get a new one in pronto. It is nice that CYMA has designed this shotgun such that the shells do not fly out when the shell door opens as that is a great way to lose shells in the field!
At the rear, we come to the sliding stock and pistol grip assembly which combines an ergonomic pistol grip with linear texture on each side with a sliding stock set at an angle so you can get a nice clear view down the sights when the stock is extended. To extend the stock, simply press the button on the left side and slide it out to your chosen position.
If you enjoy a bit of CQB and you want a bigger challenge, improved ability to engage moving targets and the intimidation factor of metal-on-metal pump action, the CYMA CM.373M would be a fine choice. Perfect for the point man of the squad but equally useful slung on the back for larger events, kept in reserve for close encounters, the CYMA CM.373M is perfect for the milsim breachers and the shotgun action heroes!

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
