Description
The BOLLE Pilot II Goggles are made to the fantastic standard that BOLLE have set themselves since they started making glasses and frames in 1936. They are manufactured to European standards and are fully rated to be safe for Airsoft use.
The lens has an EN 166:2001 rating that is given to eyewear that meets the standard for safe protection, including no sharp edges, protected from dropping, light exposure, heat, corrosion etc. The Goggles are rated for an impact from a 6mm, 0.86g projectile at 120m/s - i.e. more energy than you will encounter at an Airsoft field. The lens are also protected from scratches and fine particles thanks to an anti-scratch coating. This also includes chemical protection against large dust particles (5 microns) and liquid droplets/splashes. They even provide protection against hot solids, molten metals and the .emission of intense radiation'. The lens also provides UV Protection to keep your eyes safe from the damaging effects of the sun. The final feather in the Bolle Pilot's cap is a 'high speed particles at extreme temperatures' rating, which does what it says on the tin.
As Airsofters, you'll be pleased to know that the Platinum® lens is treated and rated to be anti-fog and scratch resistant (1.4 cd/m²), allowing you to focus on the battle, rather than struggling to wipe your vision clear. The Goggles have been made with 'continuous work' (or worn permanently) in mind, and so have to be comfortable for long periods of time.
