The external build quality of the Arcturus AK-12 Tactical Assault Rifle is the first thing you notice when you pull this beauty out of the box. The Outer Barrel Assembly is made with a combination of Aluminium and Alloy, whilst the Pistol Grip, Handguard, Stock and Magazine are made from a very realistic and tough Polymer. The rest of the externals such as the Receiver, Dust Cover, Trigger Guard, Stock Tube , Gas Block, Flash Hider etc. are made from Steel - making for a realistic weight and feel, as well as making it long lasting. The whole rifle is protected against corrosion by an unnamed method.

External features of note on the AK-12 are a 14mm CCW Threaded Outer Barrel, which can be access by twisting and removing the Flash Hider, and then unscrewing the lug underneath. This allows you to install compatible Muzzle Devices such as Suppressors and Tracer Units. The Railed Handguard provides four positions of 20mm Rail for accessories such as Grips, Torches, Lasers and much more. The Dust Cover also has a full length 20mm Rail for installing Sights, Scopes and Optics. An Ergonomic Pistol Grip makes for reduced wrist/hand fatigue when carrying this 3.48kg beast, and a Front Sling Loop / Rear QD Sling Socket allows for you to make use of Slings to also reduce load/weight on your wrists. The Sliding/Folding Stock gives you the best of both worlds, allowing you to set the perfect Stock length for any user, and also folding down to a compact 70cm overall length; ideal for storage and transport.

The Arcturus AK-12 features a Quick Change Spring System to make it easy and convenient to change the Main Spring, which is ideal for those who play a range of different sites with various power limits. The Main Spring can be accessed from the rear of the gun, when the Dust Cover is removed and the Stock folded. The Trigger is a Microswitch design which improves the response from the Trigger, and improves lifespan by removing the need for (easily damaged) Trigger Contacts. Other internal features of the Arcturus AK-12 include a Spring Guide with Bearings, Piston Head with Bearings and a Full Steel Teeth Piston. The Motor is also mounted on Bearings to improve its' cycling at high speeds, and a full course of low-resistance wiring helps keep everything in check. The replica features a Slider Type HOP Adjustment, which allows you to increase backspin applied to your BBs, and theoretically improve effective range with the right settings and BB weight. Simply pull back the Charging Handle to access. A polished 6.01mm Inner Barrel helps promote consistency and a steady flight path.

Included in the box are two different Magazine types. One is a 500rnd High Capacity Magazine, which is filled by pouring BBs into the top Fill Window and winding the Clockwork Wheel on the bottom. The other is a 30/130rnd Mid Cap Magazine which can be switched between 30rnds or 130rnds, depending on how realistic you're wanting to go. To change the capacity, simply remove the baseplate, slide out the inner sleeve and move the button labelled '30' to the appropriate position.

Special Instructions

To access the Battery compartment you need to rotate the locking pin on the Handguard and pull it outwards, away from the Airsoft Gun. You can then pull back on the Dust Cover and lift it up on its' hinge. Reverse the process to replace the Dust Cover once the Battery is installed. Be careful not to trap any wires when closing the Dust Cover.

The externals of the replica are metal where they would be on the real world gun. This includes things like the outer barrel, handguard, and receiver. If a real world gun has polymer parts then the gun will still be marked as full metal externals, examples of this would be an M4, where the Stock and Pistol grip are always made from Polymer.
