- Full metal construction
- Polymer or Real wood variants
- 6.02mm Tightbore inner barrel
If sniping is your skirmish role and you want something that isn't an L96 or VSR platform as your primary, the AGM Dragunov SVD will give you the unique rifle you need! This Dragunov SVD replica is a single-shot straight pull bolt action, meaning it falls within the same rules as a standard sniper rifle but with the uniquely iconic look of the bad guy sniper rifle. With full metal on the outside and your choice of high-density polymer or stunning real wood furniture, from a looks standpoint, this SVD ticks all the boxes!
On the inside, we are treated to a 6.02mm tightbore inner barrel measuring a whopping 600mm in overall length, meaning superb accuracy and range potential, if you do your part. The main spring puts out approximately 385 FPS +/- 10% on a 0.2g BB but if you need more, this is easily done thanks to the SVD's compatibility with standard AEG main springs. The HOP-up unit is of the much-lauded TDC design, adjusting via a grub screw with direct pressure applied to the HOP-up rubber for less side-to-side deviation and a stronger overall HOP-up effect. As an affordable way to dip your toes into the world of Airsoft sniping or as the base gun for a beast of a build, the AGM Dragunov SVD is a great choice!

Description
If you are an Airsoft sniper and you fancy a change of pace for your next build, why not go for the bad guy look? The AGM Dragunov SVD is a great place to start, with a 6.02mm tightbore inner barrel, TDC adjustable HOP-up unit and compatibility with AEG standard main springs. On the outside, we have a full metal SVD replica which is the only proper way to do it, with your choice of either high-density polymer or real wood furniture.
Starting at the tip we can find the classic SVD integrated front sight/flash hider, which combines a long "birdcage" style muzzle device with a raised sight with a full hood, to prevent bumps and scrapes from affecting your sights zero. The sight post has checkering on the rear to reduce glare and ensure you aren't distracted while aiming.
The front sight/flash hider attaches to the extremely long outer barrel using a small grub screw hiding in the bayonet mount on the bottom of the device, though there are no threads beneath. As we move rearwards we meet the gas block, which serves no function for Airsoft purposes other than looking cool and providing a sling point, which can be found on the left side and takes the form of a small loop through which a loop of paracord or a keyring can be threaded.
Following the gas block, we arrive at the front handguard cap which secures the two-part handguard to the rifle. To remove the handguard, simply rotate the release lever on the right side towards the muzzle of the rifle, which will allow the handguard cap to slide forward, releasing the handguards.
The handguards are of the classic SVD design, with attractive vent holes and constructed from either high-density polymer with a satisfying textured surface or real wood, depending on the variant you choose. The handguard shape is very comfortable to grip, allowing both a close-in target grip and an aggressive elbow-locked C-clamp grip depending on the shooter's preference. Atop the handguard, though not actually attached to it, we can find the rear tangent open iron sight, which features realistic range adjustment between close-range shooting and 1200 meters! Obviously, this doesn't translate directly to Airsoft, though it allows the shooter to adjust for various engagement ranges all the same.
Next up, we reach the receiver which is entirely constructed from alloy, providing the authentic feel we expect of a realistic SVD replica. The fire selector lever can be found on the right side of the receiver, similar to an AK-type rifle. The horizontal position locks the trigger in safe mode and rotating the lever downwards enables the hot mode. For AK users, this fire selector setup will feel right at home and is actually slightly easier to reach than in an AK thanks to the extended tab at the tip.
To the rear of the selector lever, we can find the disassembly lever which can be rotated downwards to allow removal of the top cover. Once the top cover has been removed, the HOP-up unit can be accessed to adjust the flight path of the BB. The HOP-up unit is a grub screw adjustable TDC type, applying pressure directly to the top of the rubber, reducing the possibility of shots curving left or right. The adjustment screw appears on the top of the silver HOP unit, once the rifle is cocked the bolt can be held to the rear to adjust.
The magazine release can be found on the bottom of the receiver and allows access for both left and right-handed users. The magazine uses a "rock and lock" insertion method, similar to the AK platform. The left side of the receiver features an SVD Dovetail optics rail machined in, though this rail is non-functional as far as we can tell. The trigger guard is made from steel and conceals and protects the curved trigger of the SVD from accidentally being pressed. As we reach the rear of the rifle we encounter the classic SVD stock/pistol grip assembly, providing that familiar Bad Guy sniper rifle silhouette, giving the Dragunov its classic look.
The pistol grip is a short but wide design and fills out the hand well, providing support for the palm ensuring the shooter has a comfortable grip. The standard SVD stock profile provides an excellent cheek weld when using the iron sights, though this rifle also comes with a comfortable wood and imitation leather cheek pad. Just like the cheek pad issued with the real SVD, this provides a removable cheek riser for use with optical sights. At the rear of the stock, we find our second sling point, a hole in the rear of the stock with a metal pin running through, allowing the use of two-point slings. The butt plate is made from metal, and is a smooth flat design, matching the real SVD perfectly.
On the inside, the AGM SVD is based on the long out-of-production King Arms SVD, with some pre-upgraded parts to sweeten the deal. The inner barrel is a 6.02mm tightbore, giving you above average accuracy and range potential while improving the efficiency of the system by making better use of the air compressed by the piston.
The pre-installed spring provides approximately 385 FPS, and the AGM SVD is compatible with standard AEG upgrade springs, meaning if you need more, it can be done. The TDC HOP-up unit design has more than its fair share of advantages; while more of a hassle to adjust, it holds its setting far better than other units and is capable of applying more pressure to allow for heavier BB weights.
If you are looking for an unconventional sniper rifle for your bad guy loadout or you want an SVD to add to the collection, the AGM SVD will do the trick. With an enormously long 6.02mm tightbore and a TDC HOP-up unit, this Dragunov has the potential for remarkable performance, rivalling VSR and L96 platforms but with the iconic SVD aesthetic!

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
