The primary difference between the Base and the CNC Black is that the base uses a cast aluminium housing instead of a CNC machined one and the stator is wound via machines while the CNC Black is hand-wound.

The advantages of running a brushless motor are numerous, the most important of which is a far higher torque to weight ratio than conventional motors.
