WADSN X400 VAMPIRE Tactical Pistol Light w/ Red Laser Strobe Version

The X400V, also known as the X400 VAMPIRE is an upgraded variant of the well known X300 tactical pistol flashlight and combines all the superb functionality of the X300 with an even brighter LED,  a red aiming laser which is fully adjustable, and a rotary bezel to allow the user to select between solid light and stroboscopic mode. The X400 VAMPIRE is longer in overall form than the standard X400, allowing for the additional functionality of the rotary bezel, and has a more menacing look thanks to this added complexity and the textured surface of the bezel. By pulling the bezel (front of the torch) out, and rotating it the user can select between the "WH" or white light position, the OFF position at the centre, and the "S" or strobe position. This makes the X400 VAMPIRE no more tricky to operate than a standard X300/400, meaning no need to learn new tricks if you are upgrading from an X300 or X400 to the VAMPIRE.

The activation switches, known as a "rocker" switch, can be found at the rear of the flashlight body. This switch can be activated from either side and provides momentary on with a quick push forward, and constant on with a full push to either the bottom or the top, with either side's switch. The battery compartment can be found beneath the switch and can be accessed by pushing the textured release catch between the switches and the laser body on the underside of the light down, after which the battery compartment can be hinged open. The WADSN X400 VAMPIRE requires 2x CR123a batteries to operate, either standard disposable or rechargeable cells. 

Beneath the laser body we can find the mode selector switch, which allows the user to select between the white light and the red laser, both of which are controlled using the rocker switch at the rear. With the switch positioned at the centre, the light is set to activate both the white light and aiming laser when the rocker switch is pressed. Positioning the switch to line up with the "LIGHT" marking will select the light only, likewise lining the switch up with the "LASER" marking selects laser only. Rotating this switch by 90 degrees to the central position in either direction will disable the light and laser, and we recommend using this whenever you put the X400V away as it will prevent the rocker switch from being accidentally pressed and draining your batteries. 

As previously mentioned, the aiming laser of the X400V is fully adjustable and can be zeroed using the grub screw adjusters n the top and left side of the unit (positioned as it would be mounted to a pistol). These screws require a small Allen key to turn which is included in the box. Also present in the box are two spare adjustment grub screws just in case you lose one (they like to disappear into the carpet), and a replacement mount insert to provide a tighter fit with pistol-style 20mm Picatinny rails, such as those found on Glock, EU and SIG pistols. This insert won't be necessary in most cases but if you find the X400V is not as tight a fit as you would like we recommend using the insert for a more secure fit. 

So, for primary pistol users and special forces impressionists alike, the X400 VAMPIRE has what you need to both look the part and give the enemy team a rough time in the dark abyss of the CQB site! The fully adjustable aiming laser allows for accurate, rapid firing, straight from the draw, which works well combined with the devastatingly bright 480-lumen tactical light. The VAMPIRE's stroboscopic mode is an excellent tool to both use on the breach or when moving to mask your speed and direction of travel, keeping the enemy team guessing and giving you the edge you need to dominate!
