The Best Guns in Call of Duty: Airsoft Edition
Airsoft is a way of living out your tactical dreams in real life, without the risk of serious injury, a perfect way for COD fans to get active whilst still getting the same experience as their favourite game. Airsoft offers multiple game modes, depending on when and where you play, with a mixture of elimination and objective-based modes.
If you're interested in pursuing this hobby let's discover some platforms that may be familiar to you, so you can play just as well on the skirmish site as you do on the game.
XM177
This iconic rifle is instantly recognisable. When you think of assault rifles, the image you picture is usually something close to this. This rifle has been seen everywhere in movies, TV shows, and games, but most notably for us, in the latest instalment of the Call of Duty series, Black Ops 6. Our Airsoft rendition of this rifle is the CYMA CM.009F XM177E2 AEG, this replica looks near perfect with an identical silhouette including the carry handle, stock, and ribbed handguards.
PMX
The PMX is a compact SMG seen in the remastered version of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, in Airsoft we are treated to a more realistic version of this platform. This is because the Airsoft PMX is officially licensed by Umarex and features the Beretta trademarks on it as opposed to the "SILVERFIELD ORDINANCE" ones seen in the game.
SPAS-12
You can't talk about iconic guns and not mention the Franchi SPAS-12, although its real-world counterpart was known to have some performance issues, it didn't stop this shotgun from showing up everywhere in media, including multiple Call of Duty games. The SPAS-12 has been seen in Black Ops 1 and 2, plus, Modern Warfare 3 and Infinite Warfare. Unfortunately, our Airsoft versions don't include the iconic stock, but it is still just as effective on the battlefield.
M98B
The Barret MRAD appears as the MCPR-300 in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Sniping is just as fun in Airsoft as Call of Duty but for different reasons. You won't be hitting 720 no-scopes on the skirmish field, but being able to camouflage yourself in the surroundings and hitting a long-range shot is just as incredible a feeling! This Airsoft sniper measures a whopping 132cm, that's pretty much as big as it gets for an Airsoft replica and most real steel rifles seen in use.
MP5
Another classic gun, if this SMG needs an introduction we would be surprised! It's another one of those platforms that has been seen everywhere and anywhere, perfect for movies and video games due to its simple design and compact nature. It has been seen in a plethora of Call of Duty games, including Black Ops 2, Cold War, and 6, as well as Modern Warfare 1 and 2. In Airsoft there are a multitude of options when it comes to this SMG, the most accurately styled ones include the Bolster Tuned, Cyma, and Jing Gong.
Vector
The Vector is a super unique platform, featuring a design that you either love or hate. It has had many names in the Call of Duty franchise such as the "Vector K10" in Black Ops 2, the "Fennec" in Modern Warfare and then returning as the "Fennec 45" in Modern Warfare 2 three years later. Similarly to the PMX, this Airsoft SMG has a slight upper hand on realistic appearance, as it is licensed by KRISS, the brand that produces the real steel SMG. This means that externally, it is a near-perfect match to the real gun, and the Call of Duty SMG, bar the licensed trademarks.
CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1
The CZ Scorpion was created by Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod, it has developed a massive following on the US Civilian tactical scene thanks to its combination of low cost and superb quality. In Call of Duty, the CZ Scorpion is known as the CX-9 in Modern Warfare and the "Rival-9" in Modern Warfare 3. This SMG was only introduced to the world in 2020 so to see it in Call of Duty so soon is impressive. In Airsoft, ASG produces the Scorpion EVO 3 A1, it is designed from real steel specifications so it can look as realistic as possible.
Makarov
The Makarov pistol is a lesser-seen sidearm in the Call of Duty franchise but we think it deserves a special mention due to its awesome looks. With a suppressor attached, this sidearm looks like the optimal hitman or assassin accessory. If you're not interested in Airsoft as a hobby but still want a cool display piece for your bedroom, you can't go wrong with a pistol! Our Airsoft Makarov comes from the brand WE, a well-established Airsoft pistol brand, known for its great designs and functionality.
AK-74U
You can't talk Call of Duty and forget classic Russian rifles such as the AK-74U. This rifle is a shorter version of the standard edition AK-74 and has appeared in several Call of Duty Black Ops games including 1, 2, 3, and Cold War. It was falsely placed in the SMG section of guns in Black Ops 2 and 3 making some firearm nerds very annoyed, but due to the compact nature of this AK platform and the absence of its stock in the games, we can excuse the misrepresentation. In Airsoft, we are treated to AK-74u with a choice of real wood handguards or polymer handguards from both CYMA and Jing Gong.
SVD
On the topic of classic Russian rifles, the SVD is the bigger brother of the AK, often being portrayed as a semi-automatic sniper rifle in Call of Duty games such as Modern Warfare and Black Ops 2. It is often shown with wooden handguards but later versions of it have black polymer handguards instead. Luckily, in Airsoft, we have access to both variants from brands such as A&K and CYMA, with a choice of real wood or polymer for both.
PPSH-41
World War two guns have always been awesome and the PPSH-41 is no exception. Seen most notably in Call of Duty WW2 this classic SMG has a certain charm that modern guns just don't have anymore. This is another one of those platforms that even if you're not a skirmisher, would still make an excellent display piece for any Call of Duty fan or collector of awesome trinkets. This Airsoft replica features a unique Electro-Mechanical blowback mechanism that cycles the mock bolt each time you fire with an exciting "clack clack clack", adding realness and satisfaction with every shot.
Kar98K
Another classic platform, the Kar98k has been dominating battlefields both in the real world and video games since the early 19th century. It's been seen in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1 and 3, but those aren't the important ones, Call of Duty WW2 is where the Kar98k belongs. The Airsoft variant of this platform is just as glorious, perfect for any old-fashioned snipers or a gorgeous display piece to hang on the wall. S&T offer some of the most externally realistic-looking Kar98k rifles, along with multiple other WW2-era platforms such as Lee Enfields and Sterling SMGs.
DEAGLE
Back to the modern day! The Desert Eagle, also known as the DEAGLE, is a menacing pistol that usually has the highest damage in the sidearm class due to its real-world .50 Cal ammunition. Basically, a big old bullet capable of some serious damage! It has been seen in most Modern Warfare games, including the old and the remastered versions. In Airsoft, you can treat yourself to a Licensed Cybergun Desert Eagle with all the accurate trademarks, making it look like you're holding the real thing!
SCAR
Finally, last but not least, we have the SCAR, this rifle is another popular one in media, coming in black or tan, this rifle is often seen as a slower firing higher damaging choice as compared to the typical M4 rifle. It has been seen Modern Warfare 3 and the remastered versions of Modern Warfare 1 and 2. In the Airsoft world, the SCAR fires just as fast as other rifles but looks cooler, you have a choice of electric or gas-powered replicas, some of which have a realistic recoil system, so it feels like you're firing a real rifle!
Hopefully, this blog has inspired some of you to take your tactical dreams from the video game to the real world. There are plenty of more unique Airsoft replicas to explore on our website and there may be other of your favourite Call of Duty guns that we've missed.
We also have a dedicated page for Airsoft guns that we think match Call of Duty guns across all the games, from pistols to miniguns, it has something for every COD fan!
