The outer barrel includes a realistic heavy profile, the receiver shape and furniture match the real M16A4 perfectly and the carry handle is removable to reveal a 20mm Picatinny rail, making it ready for an ACOG-style sight if you're going militaristic with your build. Starting at the tip of the lengthy 20" outer barrel we can find an alloy A2 birdcage flash hider, the iconic M16 flash hider design complete with the enclosed lower section. This is designed to prevent dirt and debris from obstructing the shooter's sightline and also helps control recoil and conceal muzzle flash. If you're building a custom M16 or a DMR-style platform you'll be happy to learn that the birdcage can be swapped for any 14mm CCW male threaded muzzle device, including suppressors or tracer units. Just remember to remove the grub screw in the flash hider before attempting to unscrew it!

Moving rearward, we can take note of the correct heavy profile outer barrel of this M16A4 replica, designed in the real world to help the M16 cope with rapid-fire without losing accuracy. Being 20 inches in length, this outer barrel contains a whopping 500mm inner barrel with a 6.03mm bore, giving the SA-G02 superb accuracy potential and squeezing a bit of extra FPS out of the same power spring thanks to air efficiency improvements.

The front iron sight is the standard M16 fixed front post which doubles as the gas block in the real deal. The sight is constructed from alloy and the sight blade is adjustable for elevation using an AR-15 front sight adjustment tool. On the bottom of the front sight, we also have a sling point and bayonet lug which is compatible with most Airsoft M9 bayonet replicas.

The unique high-density polymer heatshield follows just behind the visible outer barrel. It is retained by an alloy handguard cap at the front and what is known as the "M4/M16 Delta Ring" at the rear. The heatshield's unique design comes from its real steel brother. It helps cool the outer barrel more efficiently, this is fine on this style of M16A4 as the under-barrel grenade launcher acts as the handguard so soldiers are unlikely to burn their hands on the heatshield.

The mock gas tube is visible through the upper vent ports, a lovely hint of realism often missed from Airsoft AR replicas. So far, this M16 replica echoes the real steel rifle perfectly, the unique heatshield and shiny gas tube look fantastic and match the iconic look that M16 fans are always craving. Congratulations Specna Arms, you passed the realism test!

Next, we come to the under-barrel grenade launcher, it's hard to miss! This M203 40mm MOSCART Grenade Launcher is mounted on the M16's outer barrel and adds a whole new level of functionality for this AEG. This is the world's most recognisable underslung grenade launcher, it has been in use since the 1970s and is still seen to this day. The decorated history of this under-barrel grenade launcher is what makes it a must-have attachment for skirmishers who love an American military loadout.

This grenade launcher is loaded using a single 40mm MOSCART shell. To load this launcher, you must push down on the tab on the top left of the launcher, after this you can slide the handguard forward. Then insert your MOSCART shell at the back of the barrel and slowly slide the handguard back into place, being forceful here can trigger the MOSCART accidentally, so be careful! The grenade launcher is then primed and ready to fire, all the necessary safety precautions should be taken.

This M203 features a trigger lock safety system to minimise negligent discharges. To engage the safety, pull back on the tab located just in front of the trigger, this then locks the trigger's movement. To release the safety and ready this grenade launcher ready for firing, push the tab forward and this will unlock the trigger. Once again, this should be treated as a primed Airsoft gun and should be treated with care.

Moving rearwards, we come to the receiver, this is a familiar format for anyone who has handled an M4/AR-15 platform before, constructed from alloy and matching the real M16A4/M4A1 receiver-style perfectly. This includes the reinforced front pinhole, milspec flat trigger guard, magazine release fence and low profile charging handle latch. The magazine release is on the right side of the magazine well with a push-through design just like a standard M4/AR-15 AEG, it features a textured surface for optimal traction in speedy reloads.

The fire selector switch is found above the pistol grip on the right side, offering 3 modes of fire with a 90-degree throw between each. The default fire modes are safe, semi-auto and full auto but with the pre-installed Kestrel Basic ETU, you can interchange between binary trigger instead of semi and 3-round burst instead of full auto. The real M16A4 used a SAFE-SEMI-3RND burst trigger group, all it takes is some simple adjustments and you can run your SA-G02 like its real steel brother!

The charging handle can be found at the top rear of the receiver and features a low-profile charging handle latch to reduce snagging potential. Pulling the charging handle back will open the dust cover and retract the chrome-finished mock bolt, revealing the rotary HOP-up unit on the right side. The HOP-up allows you to adjust the amount of backspin applied to your projectiles and tune the SA-G02 for different ammo weights, looking for the flattest possible trajectory. When you've completed your Hop-up adjustments, you can press the bolt release catch located in the centre of the left-hand of the receiver to slide the mock bolt back over the HOP-up unit with a satisfying metal-on-metal "clank".

Running along the top of the receiver, we have a 20mm Picatinny receiver rail with a pre-installed alloy carry handle which contains the rear "ghost ring" iron sight. The rear sight is adjustable for both windage and elevation with a toolless adjustment feature, the dial on the right side adjusts windage (left to right) and the dial below the aperture controls elevation. If you prefer to run an optical sight you can loosen the thumb screws on the left side of the carry handle and remove it to access your receiver rail. As much as the carry handle is the most iconic part of the M16 rifle, an ACOG-style optic is ideal if you're going for an effective skirmishing platform.

The pistol grip featured on the SA-G02 is an "A2" finger-ridged type, with diamond checkering on either side and linear grooves on the rear to provide a comfortable grip. The finger ledge is great for providing improved ergonomics when holding this rifle in a shooting position. The A2 grip is exactly what an M16A4 replica needs, matching the real steel US Army and USMC-issued variant perfectly.

Rearwards of the receiver, we come the M16A4 fixed stock. It has a polymer butt plate with an aggressive textured design that will grip onto your apparel. This will keep your AEG nestled in the sweet spot of your shoulder so you can maximise your accuracy potential and skirmish domination skills! On the bottom of the stock is a fixed ambidextrous sling point, this is perfect for attaching a sling to assist the carrying of this hefty platform around during your campaigns.

The battery compartment is located within the stock and can be accessed via a hatch in the centre of the butt plate for battery installation. To do this, simply press down on the lever mechanism on the top and then the hatch will open and reveal a Deans battery connector inside. For this AEG we recommend a 7.4V 1500mAh LiPo Block Battery as there is loads of battery space inside this beefed-up stock.

Inside the SA-G02 ONE™, we are treated to the same solid internals as the original, including 18:1 ratio steel gears running on 8mm ball bearing bushings and a steel spring guide with Enter & Convert™ quick change spring functionality. Enter & Convert™ requires the gearbox to be removed from the receiver but doesn't require the gearbox to be opened, saving you hassle when it comes to power tuning and minimising the expertise required.
