  • Full metal construction
  • Semi/full auto fire modes
  • Approx 390 FPS - Too hot for sites, great fun though

If you love a piece of history in Airsoft form, the KWC M1932/M712 Broomhandle Schnellfeuer CO2 GBB should make you happy! This full metal CO2-powered GBB pistol replicates the real steel Broomhandle Mauser in its Schnellfeuer form. The Schnellfeuer differs from the original Broomhandle with its detachable magazine and semi/full auto select fire configuration, making for a mean machine pistol with a retro aesthetic!

The Schnellfeuer hits out at a seriously spicy 390 FPS on 0.2g BBs, meaning it is probably a bit too hot for skirmishing but the ferocious rate of fire and impressively violent recoil make this one fantastic platform for backyard target shooting. The HOP-up is fixed and optimised for 0.25g or 0.28g BBs and the magazine holds 22 BBs, making use of 12g unthreaded CO2 bulbs (not included) to power it. Its CO2 power source amps up the recoil and means the Schnellfeuer should keep running well into the winter months. Whether you participate in historical reenactments or just want an iconic historical piece to display, the KWC M1932/M712 Broomhandle Schnellfeuer CO2 GBB is a fantastic choice!

Description

Schnellfeuer translates to "Rapid Fire" in English, and the M1932/M712 Broomhandle Schnellfeuer CO2 GBB does a fantastic job of replicating this in Airsoft form. Boasting full metal construction, impressive recoil and a scary fast rate of fire in full auto, the only downside to this beast is its 390 FPS muzzle velocity on 0.2g BBs, a bit too much for skirmishing but perfect for exploding beverage cans and slapping targets in the garden.

The real steel M1932/M712 was developed by Mauser based on the extremely popular C96 Broomhandle, adding in a detachable magazine and full auto fire mode following the success of Spanish and Chinese select fire Mauser clones. Production of the M712 began in 1932 and ceased in 1936, leading to its unofficial name, the M1932. A small number of Mauser Schnellfeuer pistols were also issued to the German Wehrmacht during WW2 who gave it its official name, the M712. One of the most iconic pistol designs of all time, forming the basis for Han Solo's blaster and a favourite of Hollywood and popular culture, the Broomhandle Schnellfeuer is essential for any collector!

Starting at the front, we come to the detailed mock rifling inside the muzzle and the front iron sight up top. The mock rifling completes the look of an authentic replica, with a slightly recessed inner barrel for maximum realism when it comes to displaying or using the Schnellfeuer for photoshoots. The front sight is a strong design, a nice thick barleycorn style sight which pairs perfectly with the rear tangent sight on the receiver, providing a familiar sight picture to G98/KAR98K users and a wide field of view.

Moving rearwards along the barrel we can note its realistic profile, tapering along the length towards the tip, just like the real M712. Like the barrel, the upper and lower receiver are constructed from alloy, finished in gunmetal grey. The ejection port is located on the top, just like the real thing, showing off some detail in the form of a recess on the top to mimic the real steel Schnellfeuer's extractor.

Behind the ejection port, we have the the rear iron sight, a tangent design like the KAR98K and AK rifles. The sight is adjustable for elevation via the button on the right side, allowing you to adjust the height of the sight notch for different ranges. The sight graduations go from 50 meters out to 1000, a bit optimistic for an Airsoft gun! Despite this, the sight can still be used and adjusted effectively, allowing you to accurately lob BBs a bit further than a fixed sight would allow.

The bolt carrier is located on the rear of the upper receiver, behind the hammer, offering two textured protrusions to manipulate it, one on each side. Like your usual GBB pistol, the Schnellfeuer requires cocking before the first shot, and each time you pull the trigger the bolt flies back under CO2 pressure to load your next shot. The manual safety is located on the rear left of the receiver, within reach of the thumb, but can only be activated when the hammer is cocked. The safety disables the trigger but it can still be pulled; if you find your trigger is spongy and doesn't fire a shot, the safety is probably on!

Moving to the lower receiver, we can find the fire selector switch just above the iconic Broomhandle grip, offering two modes of fire; semi-automatic and full automatic. To switch modes, press the textured button in the centre and the selector can be rotated, with an "N" to denote semi-auto and an "R" for full auto. The N stands for Normalfeuer (normal fire) and the R stands for Reihenfeuer (serial fire), an authentic nod to the real M712 Schnellfeuer. The magazine release is over on the right side, just in front of the trigger, taking the form of a round textured button which is very easy to reach, similarly positioned to that of an M4/AR-15 rifle.

Last but certainly not least, we come to the pistol grip which is what gives the C96/M712 the nickname "Broomhandle". This grip takes the form of two faux wood polymer panels with linear gripping grooves screwed onto an alloy tang which is integral to the receiver. The grips look great, offering a respectable faux wood finish without the maintenance needs and delicate nature of real wood. At the base of the grip, we are treated to a lanyard loop, a feature of the real M712 which allows it to be tethered to your belt and prevents the pistol from being lost if dropped in the field.

While this may be a bit too potent to skirmish with, the firing experience of the KWC M1932/M712 Broomhandle Schnellfeuer CO2 GBB is one of the best out there, with a super snappy response in semi, fantastic immersive recoil and a genuinely surprising rate of fire in full auto. Whether you're using it as a film prop, for photoshoots, reenactment or target shooting, the KWC M712 is a fantastic looking Broomhandle Mauser replica which is sure to bring a smile to your face when the trigger is pulled!
