A&K SVD-S Airsoft AEG Replica

The A&K SVD-S is an SVD Platform Sniper Rifle powered by a Battery stored inside the Handguard. Unlike the standard model, the 'S' in SVD-S misleadingly stands for Folding Stock. (As is the case with the AKM series; an AKMS being an AKM with a Folding Stock). 

The other distinguishing feature of this replica is the 'temporary Full Auto setting'. This Airsoft Gun, like the real firearm, is Semi-Automatic only. However, the Fire Selector will allow you to fire in Full Automatic, provided the Fire Selector is held down. It has a spring inside that will launch the Fire Selector back into Safe when you stop holding it down. This function is very useful for if your gearbox ever locks up, and needs to be fired on Automatic to release. Previously, you wouldn't be able to do this, so your Gearbox would need to be disassembled to address a simple issue. Now all you have to do is install a charged battery, hold down the Fire Selector and fire a short burst to unlock the Gearbox. 'Gearbox lockup' usually happens when your Battery starts to run flat, the rate of fire decreases and you pull the Trigger before the previous 'shot' has finished cycling. You can tell it has happened as your Trigger will start to 'click' with no Gearbox noise. This feature is a great way to be assured that your Airsoft skirmish won't be ruined if this issue ever occurs.

The replica has great Alloy externals and uses tough Polymer for the Handguard and Pistol Grip, as is the case with A&K products. The Outer Barrel Assembly, Receiver, Magazine, Stock and various trim aspects of the Rifle are made from Alloy, which gives it a good weight and helps the rifle stay strong and wobble-free. There is a Dovetail Side Rail on the Receiver which can accept AK/SVD specific accessories such as Rail Adapters and proprietary Optics like the PSO-1. Other features of the Receiver include a typical Ambidextrous Magazine Release and adjustable Ironsights which can be quickly adjusted for range, which could actually serve to be useful for taking longer shots in Airsoft. The gun has a Rotary HOP Unit, which can be accessed by pulling back the Charging Handle. This can be used to apply backspin to your BBs, and theoretically improve range and consistency when paired with the right BB weight and settings. The Folding Stock Assembly has an adjustable Cheek Rest which can be adjusted by squeezing the spring loaded lever underneath it. This is the same lever you must pull to unfold the Stock once it has locked in the closed position. To access the Battery compartment, you must first remove the locking pin from the Handguard by rotating it outwards, and pulling it out of the Barrel completely. The front collar of the Handguard can then be moved forwards, and the two halves of the Handguard split. Inside you will find a Mini Tamiya connector and enough space for most Crane Stock and Stick 7.4v LiPo Batteries.

Included in the box is a 190rnd High Cap Magazine which is filled from the top by opening the Fill Window and pouring BBs in. You then wind the clockwork wheel on the base of the Magazine to start feeding BBs into the gun. Special Instructions

The externals of the replica are metal where they would be on the real world gun. This includes things like the outer barrel, handguard, and receiver. If a real world gun has polymer parts then the gun will still be marked as full metal externals, examples of this would be an M4, where the Stock and Pistol grip are always made from Polymer.
