RAVEN Hi-Capa 3.8 Pro GBB Pistol

If you want the classic Hi-Capa style but are searching for something more compact, the RAVEN Hi-Capa 3.8 Pro GBB Pistol is exactly what you need! This pistol combines the 'Capa styling and customisation options with a compact, Glock 19-like size. As with all RAVEN Hi-Capas, we are treated to a full metal build with a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel pre-installed, giving you an impressive out-of-the-box platform for a remarkable price.

Starting at the tip of the outer barrel we can find 12mm CW female barrel threads, allowing you to mount a tracer unit or suppressor with the addition of a VORSK or RAVEN thread adapter. If you decide to run a tracer or suppressor, we recommend going for the shortest and lightest you can find such as the FLARE M to avoid hindering the gas efficiency of the Hi-Capa 3.8 Pro.

Moving rearwards, we come to the shortened Hi-Capa slide, which features light-enhancing front and rear open iron sights with green inserts for a perfect sight picture which is easy to acquire quickly, standing out well in all but the darkest conditions. The slide itself is beautifully finished and gives the pistol a glamorous look that will turn heads on the skirmish field.

Moving down to the frame and pistol grip we can find the controls of the Hi-Capa 3.8 Pro, identical to other Hi-capa models from RAVEN and very well placed for easy operation. The ambidextrous manual safety sits right beneath the shooter's thumb for fast access, and the extended slide release can also be reached from a firing grip. The manual safety locks the trigger and hammer, preventing the pistol from firing, but this obviously only works when the hammer is cocked. 

The Hi-Capa pistol series features an extra level of safety in the form of the beavertail grip safety; a proven design which dates back to the original American pistol, the 1911. This safety prevents the pistol from firing if the grip safety is not pressed, meaning you will never have an accidental discharge from snagging the trigger on gear. Like the manual safety and slide lock, the beavertail safety is also finished in either gold or silver, depending on the variant you choose, adding some exciting contrast to the design. 

At the front of the alloy frame, we can find a 20mm Picatinny pistol rail, ideal for mounting small tactical flashlights and lasers, bearing in mind, the tiny nature of this pistol. The magazine release can be found on the left side of the grip and is a slightly raised design which is easy to hit, but not so easy that you can accidentally drop your magazine in the heat of a firefight!

Both the hammer and trigger of the Hi-Capa 3.8 Pro have a skeletonised design, reducing the weight of the pistol to only what is necessary for optimal performance. The pistol grip of the Hi-Capa design is a modular part, separate from the alloy frame, and is made from textured polymer for excellent gripping qualities. This part can be swapped out for aftermarket Hi-Capa grips if you prefer something a bit more interesting but its gripping texture and slightly flared magazine well make the standard grip more than adequate for the job.

Performance-wise, this pistol is incredible considering its low price point. The cyclic rate is excellent due to its shortened, weight-reduced slide. The 3.8 Pro even outpaces the other RAVEN and VORSK Hi-Capa offerings because of the combination of the shorter slide and the massive gas reservoir within the Hi-Capa's full-sized magazine providing ample propellant for all 23 rounds and then some! Like the other Hi-Capas from RAVEN, the 3.8 Pro features a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel, granting it exceptional accuracy for a pistol of this size.
