Description
RAVEN are well known for providing some of the most cost-effective full metal GBB pistols on the market; offering superb performance and beautiful external quality to go with it. Similar to the the EU17, the EU18 sports the same EU Gen.4 finger ridged frame with ergonomic and effective dot texture, which also features on the fire selector switch on the left side of the slide to offer a fully automatic fire mode. The key distinction with this model is the brilliant blue slide, having be pre painted to a professional standard, so there's no waiting for a two tone service to be completed, allowing you to get skirmishing ASAP!
Featured at the front of the pistol, we have the alloy barrel that features a 12mm CW female thread at the tip, allowing tracer units, suppressors and other muzzle devices to be added with a 12mm to 14mm CCW thread adapter.
At the top of the slide we can find the front and rear sight, which are standard EU style white dot and white "U" sights. These sights are simple combat pistol sights, but their design is notable as the use of a dot and "U" configuration prevents the shooter from mixing up their sight dots under pressure, allowing for fast precise shots in quick draw situations.
Moving to the rear of the slide, we see deep linear serrations on either side, which provide plenty of purchase, when racking the pistol, while remaining comfortable enough to not hurt your hands for when you're racking the pistol with gusto!
On the right side of the slide, we can see the mock ejection port, through which we get a glimpse of the outer barrel, offering some blue on black contrast, giving a bit of jazz to the pistol. For extra realism, at the rear of the ejection port, we can see a mock extractor as separate piece; While it serves no real function on an Airsoft GBB, but it adds a little aesthetic style seeing it moulded as a separate piece to more faithfully simulate the real world original.
A hallmark feature of the EU18 is the ability to unload on full-auto, adjusted with the left hand side fixed fire select switch, with semi and full auto indicated by single and three engraved dots respectively. A full auto burst will certainly be unexpected from a pistol and stop enemies in their tracks. While not as accurate as precision single shot shooting, you may find it a blessing at close range, with a greater hit probability, and let's face it; Nothing beats having the ability to unload hell by dumping your entire mag in a few seconds from a mere pistol!
Taking a look at the frame of the EU18 we can find a 20mm Picatinny pistol rail on the dust cover, allowing pistol lights, lasers and other 20mm Picatinny accessories to be mounted. On the rail itself, we can see the serial number plate, which is also finished in black. This plate doubles as a trigger lock safety, primarily for transportation, and can be pushed backwards to engage, or forwards to release.
To the rear of the frame rail, we find the trigger guard, which in classic EU series style is shaped to aid the use of a "European grip" shooting style, with checkering on the front face for added grip. Within the trigger guard, we find, yep you guess it, the EU18s trigger, with two stage design. Working similarly to the real pistol, the trigger cannot be pressed if the separate centre section is not also pressed. This serves to reduce the chances of an accidental discharge, meaning unless your finger is on the trigger, the pistol will not fire.
The frame of the pistol also features an texture and extended magazine Release making it easier to find under fire, and making it easier to release the magazine from the weapon. The magazine well of the Gen.4 EU series has a slight flare to it, allowing the magazine to be loaded easily. An additional ergonomic feature are the textured surfaces featured all around the pistol construction, so that the pistol is practically glued to your hand when you hold it, gloves or no gloves. This eliminates the possibility of accidentally launching your pistol across the site when attempting a fast draw. Don't laugh, it happens!
The pistol features an adjustable Hop Up Unit, designed to increase the range and accuracy of your pistol. The hop-up works by touching the fired BBs with a small rubber contact patch which causes the BBs to spin and displace air around them as they travel, this creates a more stable and accurate flight pattern. The hop is fully adjustable to suit a wide range of BB weights and types. To access the Hop-up unit, simply pull the slide back, then with your thumb on the black back plate of the slide, move it forward and detach from the body.
So if you're looking for a reliable pistol with satisfying recoil and additional fun in the form of the crazy full auto setting; sure to catch your opponents by surprise, look no further than the Raven EU18. No UKARA or site membership is required, and this pistol can be dispatched immediately thanks to its Pre Two-Tone finish. No need to wait for the paint to dry, with a Pre Two-Tone, you can get skirmishing as quickly as you could rack the pistol's slide!

Special Instructions
The RAVEN EU Series magazine release can sometimes require bedding in when new. If you find the magazine of your EU series pistol falls out or does not lock into place, we suggest the following steps:
- Tap the magazine on the baseplate firmly after insertion. This ensures the magazine catch engages with the cutout on the magazine to retain it properly. You can check whether this has worked or not by looking at the magazine release button. If the magazine is fully locked, the button should protrude on the left side and be flush with the grip on the right side.
- Bed the magazine catch in. This can be achieved by locking the slide back and inserting and removing the magazine repeatedly several times.
Please ensure that in cold temperatures you keep to controlled burst fire while the pistol is in fully automatic mode. This will avoid potential damage to the nozzle of the pistol.
