This Laylax EG Hard Gear Set is specifically designed for Airsoft AEGs with a version 2 or version 3 gearbox, or compatibility with v2/3 gearsets and includes a hardened steel spur gear, sector gear and bevel gear. This gearset is a high speed set with a ratio of 16:1, intended to provide a slight speed increase with the same motor compared to the standard 18:1 gears in most AEGs.

For those working on a high speed AEG build high speed gears can be a great way to squeeze a bit more speed from your existing motor. Introducing the EG Hard Gear Set from Laylax, a high speed gearset constructed from hardened steel. The set includes a spur gear, sector gear, and bevel gear which are all precisely machined for perfect meshing and smooth, reliable performance.
Laylax, also known as "Prometheus" or "First Factory" has been a household name in the area of AEG upgrade parts for over a decade now, and many of its parts find their way into our Bolster Armouries custom AEGs. Many experienced techs have relied on Laylax parts to keep their high performance builds running for years as they go and go and just keep going and you really have to do something insane to break the hardened steel used for Prometheus gears. That isn't a challenge, by the way!
These gears are tuned to a 16:1 ratio, which means for every 16 revolutions of your motor the gearbox will complete one full cycle. The benefit of using high speed gears is that you can squeeze a bit more speed out of your motor without changing it out. High-speed gears are a prerequisite for those seeking the pinnacle of speed!

Parts Fitting
Upgrades and Downgrades should only be undertaken by experienced players, or Airsoft Technicians. Please note, changing any internal parts of a weapon voids its warranty unless done in-house by our staff.
Please ensure that when fitting parts the part purchased is the correct part, as once a part has been fitted we cannot accept return.
We do know that players love to tinker, so we're here to give you help should you require it, and if needed you can get in touch with our workshop for more help!
Unique Parts
Please note that some parts may be unique to a specific brand of weapon. For example: Parts for an ASG M4A1 may not fit an ICS M4A1.
Parts from the same brand typically have a high chance of fitting, though be warned, some replicas use unique parts, so please ensure the part will fit before you attempt to fit it.
