Lancer Tactical Tandemkross CTHULHU GBB Pistol

If you're into high-performance pistol designs with a side of style, the Lancer Tactical Tandemkross CTHULHU GBB Pistol should be right up your street. Internally, this GBB pistol finds its routes in the proven AAP-01 design and is compatible with AAP internal upgrades but on the outside, the CTHULHU is dressed to impress!

The upper receiver is a unique design from Lancer Tactical, featuring a sporty spiral fluted outer barrel, removable 20mm Picatinny rail, licenced replicas of the Tandemcross "Eagle Eye" light enhancing iron sights and 14mm CCW male barrel threads, ready for your choice of muzzle device. The set also includes an authentic replica of the "Game Changer Pro" compensator, the "Halo" ring charging handle from Tandemkross and a micro red dot sight mount plate, giving you a whole host of dynamic aesthetic upgrades included in the slick polymer hard case!

The lower receiver is a close match for the real steel TandemKross Cthulhu lower receiver, a significantly enhanced design for the real steel Ruger MK.IV pistol designed for target shooting. The trigger is a flat design known as the Skeletonised Competition Trigger and is fantastic for rapid semi-auto shots, equipped with a grub screw to limit overtravel. On the left side, we have a gas pedal-style thumb rest, the "Bolt Keeper" extended bolt release and the "Cornerstone" safety thumb rest mounted to the "Hive Grip" equipped frame. Make no mistake, when you point the CTHULHU downrange it feels like being strapped into an F1 car!

Starting at the front, we come to a knurled thread protector concealing 14mm CCW male barrel threads beneath. This means you can mount the included "Game Changer Pro" compensator or your choice of tracer unit, suppressor or alternative muzzle device with ease. The outer barrel itself is finished in metallic red with spiral fluting along its length, giving the CTHULHU a personalised look without any compatibility or fitting worries!

Up top, we have our "Eagle Eye" light-enhancing iron sights, complete with [Tandemkross] trademarks for the elite look. The front sight insert is green and the rear inserts are red, guaranteeing you'll never mix up the sight dots and pull off target at a critical moment. Light-enhancing sights are superb for work in both bright and low-light conditions and these are a cut above most! The rear sight is equipped with anti-glare serrations and is also adjustable for elevation and windage via the screw on the top and right side respectively, offering exceptional functionality for pre-installed sights on a fresh-out-of-the-box pistol.

Between the sights, we are treated to a 20mm Picatinny rail, allowing a red dot sight or scope to be mounted straight away. The rail can be removed or repositioned beneath the barrel, allowing you to run the included micro red dot sight plate and a tactical flashlight for a truly menacing primary pistol setup. Replacing the rear iron sight, the red dot plate is cut for RMR and Docter/Noblex footprint red dot sights, offering options for the most common Airsoft MRDS clones.

Like the AAP-01, the charging handle is attached directly to the bolt carrier at the rear of the upper receiver, a low-profile design with textured surfaces for added traction. Included in the set we have a fantastic replica of the "Halo" ring charging handle, giving you better control over the charging handle and adding to the bold aesthetic with its metallic red finish. To install the charging handle, simply loosen its Allen bolt, slide it over the built-in charging handle and tighten it down until firm.

The adjustable HOP-up is accessible in two ways and which you use depends on the size of your digits! If you have relatively slim fingers, you can lock the bolt to the rear by pulling the charging handle and pushing the "Bolt Keeper" bolt release catch upwards to lock the bolt. With this done, you can put a finger through the ejection port to access the gear HOP-up adjuster inside the left side of the receiver. If you're wearing gloves or have big fingers, your best bet is to field strip the CTHULHU which is done the same way as an AAP-01.

First, remove the magazine and rack the charging handle to cock the hammer. Next, hold down the button below the charging handle on the rear of the frame and the upper receiver should lift free. With the upper receiver inverted, you'll find the HOP-up adjuster on the right side, ready to be tuned for your choice of ammo weight.

Moving down to the frame, we have a faithfully replicated Tandemkross Cthulhu lower receiver, complete with the unique "Hive Grip". The Hive Grip boasts stylish hexagonal texture on the front, sides and rear, offering traction and eye-catching looks in equal measure! Each side of the grip is also rocking elite [TANDEMKROSS] markings, just like the real CTHULHU lower receiver to a tee. At the base of the grip, we are also treated to a lanyard loop, designed to keep your pistol tethered to your belt via a retention lanyard, avoiding any drops or losses.

The controls of the CTHULHU are considerably enhanced, designed with speedy target shooting in mind but equally effective in Airsoft skirmishing. The magazine release, known as the "Titan", is located on the left side of the grip is significantly enlarged, making it easy to find when working under pressure so a fumbled reload won't slow you down. The safety catch is at the rear of the frame, similarly positioned to that of a Hi-Capa or 1911 and equipped with the "Cornerstone" safety thumb rest, speeding up safety engagement and doing double duty assisting with recoil control when the CTHULHU is fired rapidly.

Above the magazine release, we can find the extended bolt release catch, known as the "Bolt Keeper" by Tandemkross. This control is finished in contrasting gloss black and is positioned for easy and fast actuation, a far larger bolt release than that of the AAP-01 making it easy to find when pumped with adrenaline or in low-light CQB sites. Just ahead of the "Bolt Keeper", we have a gas pedal-style thumb rest, allowing you to apply downforce and keep the muzzle of the CTHULHU under control during long full auto bursts or rapid strings of semi-automatic fire. Naturally, the gas pedal is finished in attractive metallic red, tying the unique CTHULHU aesthetic together and completing the build.

As we might expect for a highly customised pistol, the CTHULHU is rocking an enhanced flat trigger known as the "Skeletonised Competition Trigger" by Tandemkross. The trigger is finished in metallic red to match the other chic aesthetic upgrades and includes a grub screw at the bottom, allowing you to limit overtravel to your preference.

From a performance standpoint, this beast is every bit as snappy and efficient as the AAP-01 thanks to its ultra-light bolt carrier and is compatible with almost every AAP-01 internal upgrade on the market for those who want more. The exciting external enhancements will give you the edge over the AAP out-of-the-box and will save you money if you already plan to dress your AAP up with distinctive externals!
