If you want something lightweight, long enough for woodland warfare and packing a programmable ETU straight out of te box, the Lancer Tactical LT-32 Gen 3 13" would do the trick! This is one of Lancer's latest designs and keeps the good aspects of previous Lancer M4/AR15s and adds in a 6.03mm Tightbore inner barrel and the Zion Arms Nebula ETU, providing advanced functionality rarely seen in such an affordable package.

The Nebula ETU allows for programmable fire controls with no need for extra bits like external programmers, and you can set bursts between 2 and 5 rounds using the controls on the gun itself. The Nebula can also be set up for binary trigger, giving you a shot on the pull and a shot on the release of the trigger, making this LT-32 a challenging opponent in game. Couple this advanced functionality with a high density polymer body, M-LOK handguard and ergonomic pistol grip and you have one mean, performance-oriented primary!

Description

Those in need of something lightweight and skirmish oriented; the Lancer Tactical LT32 Gen 3 would make a fine primary. This AEG is constructed primarily from high density polymer with important structural components such as the outer barrel and buffer tube being constructed from alloy to add strength while keeping the overall weight to a minuscule 2.1kg.

We have seen lightweight AEGs before, so what makes the LT32 so special? Inside, you will find the Zion Arms Nebula ETU/MOSFET pre-installed, allowing for programmable fire controls including semi only mode, bursts of 2-5 rounds and binary trigger, all while providing the superb electrical efficiency and shocking trigger response only an ETU-equipped AEG can provide. This has to be one of the most competitive platforms out there in its price range, and the ETU offers flexibility that is rarely seen, even in high end platforms!

Starting at the tip of the 14.5-inch outer barrel we can find an alloy birdcage flash hider which conceals 14mm CCW male barrel threading beneath. The birdcage flash hider is the standard muzzle device for M4/AR15 AEGs but if you want a more custom look for your rifle you can mount any 14mm CCW compatible muzzle device, including suppressors and tracer units. The 14.5-inch barrel makes this rifle great for outdoors skirmishes, and the low overall weight makes it easy to sweep quickly between targets in close quarters if needed.

The 13-inch handguard is constructed from high density polymer, keeping the rifle light and scratch resistant while boasting full M-LOK compatibility and plenty of length to suit modern stances and a plethora of room for accessories. At the 12 o'clock position, we have a 20mm Picatinny rail which runs back to meet the receiver rail seamlessly, allowing for long optical sight setups to be used, including red dot sight magnifier combinations. The length of this platform makes it a great host for larger scopes, and its tightbore barrel with rotary HOP-up gives it the accuracy potential to make the most of it!

As it comes, the LT-32 Gen 3 has a set of flip-up iron sights pre-installed on the top rail which are quick to deploy and fully adjustable for both windage and elevation. To deploy the sights simply press the textured button at the rear of each sight and they will spring up and lock into position under spring tension. The rear sight also offers two apertures for aiming; one small aperture for long range shooting and semi auto fire and a wider aperture intended for low-light shooting and full auto.

With M-LOK slots present at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions as well as additional slots at the offset angles you have plenty of options when it comes to adding accessories to the LT-32. M-LOK accessories can be mounted directly, reducing the overall weight, or 20mm Picatinny accessories can be mounted by using M-LOK to 20mm Picatinny rail adapters. The design of M-LOK handguards means you don't even need to add accessories if you prefer a simple setup, and the flat sides make it far more comfortable to hold than the usual cheese grater style 20mm quad rail handguard.

As we arrive at the receiver, we see a familiar sight; M4/AR15 controls, with a well placed fire selector sitting beneath a right-handed shooters thumb, a dummy bolt catch in the centre of the receiver on the left side, and the magazine release, which is located on the magazine well on the right side of the AEG. The controls on the LT-32 are set up for right-handed users but can be operated by a left-handed user without issue after a bit of practice.

The fire selector provides 3 modes of fire, SAFE-SEMI, and AUTO, which are denoted by recessed text surrounding the fire selector lever. Each fire mode has a 90-degree throw between, making it super easy to switch from SAFE to SEMI as you bring the AEG up and align the sights. The fire controls can also be programmed for burst modes of different durations as well as binary trigger and semi auto only thanks to the Nebula ETU. Detailed instructions on how to program the fire modes can be found below in the "Special Instructions" section.

The magazine release is protected by a moulded in "fence" which protects the release from inadvertently being pushed as your rifle brushes against your kit. The charging handle can be found at the top rear of the receiver and features an extended latch which protrudes on the left side for fast access and one-handed operation. When the charging handle is pulled, the dust cover on the right side will open, and the mock bolt carrier will retract, revealing the rotary HOP-up unit within. This device allows the user to adjust the amount of backspin applied to the BB and tune it to provide optimum range and a stable flight path with various weights of BBs. For the LT-32, we recommend 0.25g for the best combination of projectile speed, wind resistance, and range.

At the rear of the receiver, we can find a steel ambidextrous sling plate sandwiched between the receiver itself and the alloy buffer tube. This sling plate is modelled after the real steel CQD sling plate and is the perfect place to mount a single-point sling. Slings can be set up on either side of the LT-32 and you have the choice of using the QD sockets on the handguard, the sling plate, the QD sockets on the stock or the conventional sling slots on the stock, giving you plenty of sling options straight out of the box.

Following the receiver, we come to the buffer tube which provides 6 positions of adjustment for the M4/AR15 crane style low profile stock. The stock includes steel QD sling points on either side, allowing a QD set-up to be used instead of the conventional sling plate. The stock itself is a crane inspired design with a slimline form and a comfortable cheek rest. The butt plate of the stock is rubber and features lattice checkering to ensure the stock stays solidly in your shoulder. This modernised stock pairs perfectly with the ergonomic pistol grip, which features a refined grip angle to make the rifle more comfortable to shoot with modern shooting stances. The grip also features crackle texture on either side, and linear texture on the front to ensure it does not slip out of your hand at a key moment.

The buffer tube is constructed from aluminium and doubles as the battery compartment of the LT-32 Gen 3. To access the battery compartment, we will first need to remove the stock. This can be done by pulling the adjustment lever out and sliding the stock off the buffer tube to the rear. With this done we are presented with a Deans battery connector, a nice modern touch with lower resistance than the legacy mini-Tamiya connector to maximise the electrical efficiency and allow for a higher rate of fire. The battery compartment is designed for buffer tube type stick batteries, and we recommend a 7.4V 1300mAh LiPo battery for the best fit.

On the inside, the LT-32 Gen 3 keeps the best aspects of previous Lancer Tactical ARs but adds a new tightbore 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel, replacing the 6.03mm example in the Gen 2 adding even better air seal qualities, raising FPS slightly without increasing mechanical strain on the gearbox and improving accuracy. As per usual with Lancer, the LT-32 is rocking a rotary adjustable HOP-up unit which holds its setting well under the vibrations of full auto fire and allows adjustments to be applied in far finer increments than the older gear adjuster. The Lancer gearbox also has a reinforced shell, giving it the best chance of handling high power springs, and is fully compatible with upgrade parts for the version 2 gearbox.

The part which makes the Gen 3 LT-32 really shine is the Zion Arms Nebula ETU/MOSFET which comes pre-installed. This ETU provides a super snappy trigger response and helps ensure the gearbox completes a full cycle with every trigger pull to reduce stress on the internal parts. On the more interesting side of the Nebula's features, it also allows us to program the fire controls, offering semi auto only (great for DMR conversion), 2-5 round bursts and binary trigger, giving you all the options when setting up your LT-32 for any scenario. Programming is done using the fire selector and trigger, with no need for extra bits and can be done quickly between games if you fancy a change of pace.

If you are looking for a lightweight woodland primary for a fast moving playstyle the LT-32 Gen 3 13" would be an asset to your arsenal. With advanced features rarely seen on an AEG in this price range and some tasty pre-upgraded parts, this is one of the best options out there for beginners or experienced skirmishers looking for a break from their weighty full metal primaries!
