- 20mm Picatinny quad railed handguard
- Pre-installed suppressor - 14mm CCW threads
For those looking for an AR36 that can be kitted out like a railed M4, the G608-7 would be a great choice. This AR36C has had some external upgrades added to give it a unique look and some enviable functionality, with 20mm Picatinny rails available wherever they are needed, and a pre-installed suppressor which is partially covered by the handguard for a sneaky special forces inspired look. This AR36 can also boast "full metal construction", despite being made mostly from polymer as its metal-to-polymer proportions match the real rifle perfectly. If you want something other than a boring old M4 that doesn't compromise on modularity or customizability and sports fully ambidextrous controls, this is it!

Description
Those who want a mission-capable AEG out of the box with enough rails to mount everything and the kitchen sink but do not want an M4/AR15; this AR36 was made with you in mind. The G608-7 is an AR36C with a full external overhaul, sporting an aluminium quad 20mm railed handguard in "K" length with a suppressor mounted to the "C" length outer barrel for an integrally suppressed look.
The AR36 platform is one of the most underrated in Airsoft due to living in the shadow of the ever-popular M4/AR15, but the AR36 offers fully ambidextrous fire controls, a side folding stock and compatibility with the AR36's humongous 470rnd high capacity magazines, their own PTS EPM mags, the EPM-G, and also drum magazines for those who are utterly unmerciful on the battlefield. The AR36 also uses the Version 3 gearbox, which is much easier to work on than a version 2 and is reinforced to handle stronger springs and keep doing what it does best for longer without failure.
At the tip of the outer barrel we can find an alloy "KAC" style suppressor, as the SD moniker would suggest. This suppressor is a fine choice for an AR36 as these suppressors were used with the real rifle by German KSK while deployed in Afghanistan. The suppressor has a ported outer shroud to help assist in cooling, but the only cooling this does in Airsoft terms is to make the rifle look cooler 😎
This suppressor can be removed if you prefer to "go loud", and is a nice shortcut to a KSK appropriate AR36K configuration by simply adding a 3.5-inch barrel extension and a birdcage flash hider. This also presents the opportunity to kit the G608-7 out with a tracer unit, which can easily be mounted to the rifle's 14mm CCW male threaded outer barrel.
Surrounding the suppressor we are treated to an aluminium 20mm Picatinny quad railed handguard, styled after the KAC RAS handguard issued to German KSK with their AR36K rifles. This handguard is skeletonised with ports in every available area, and the result is a rail-equipped handguard which weighs little more than the original AR36C polymer handguard. This handguard means you can kit your rifle out like the real thing, with 20mm rails available at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock positions for the addition of vertical or angled foregrips, tactical flashlights and PEQ laser units. At the front of the rail, there is also a bipod mounting point intended for AR36-style bipods, though the easiest way to get one of these is to pinch it off a long-barreled AR36.
The 12 o'clock rail of the handguard is positioned to provide a "step down" mounting position, allowing the aperture iron sights on the optics rail to clear a PEQ box mounted on the handguard. The optics rail of this AR36 is also a 20mm Picatinny rail, making it ready to rock with a red dot sight, magnifier or whatever sight solution you fancy. The optics rail can also be swapped out for any AEG compatible AR36 sight module or alternative rail if you want a different look or are going for a Bundeswehr-issued style build.
The "C" rail which is installed out of the box includes aperture iron sights, the front of which is fixed and protected from damage with a protective ring, avoiding damage when dropped or scraped. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and has two apertures to choose from, a wider aperture for low light and full auto, and a finer one for accurate semi-auto shots in good lighting. The rear sight is also protected by a wall on either side, meaning you can be rough with this AR36 without worrying about a drop killing your aiming device!
The receiver of the G608-7 is constructed entirely from textured high density polymer, just like the real thing. This is one of the massive in game advantages of the AR36 as it allows the rifle to stay realistic whilst benefitting from the scratch resistance and low weight of polymer. The receiver is constructed in 3 parts; the receiver, the magazine well and the trigger group.
The receiver is a low snag design with minimum protrusions to get caught on gear, and includes a mock brass deflector on the right side which also serves to lock the side folding stock to the side of the gun. The trigger group and pistol grip are a single piece, and the grip itself is very ergonomic, with its grip angle forming the basis for highly modern MOE and MIAD aftermarket grips for the M4/AR15 platform.
The fire selector is located just above the grip and is very fast to operate, with a mere 45-degree throw between fire modes. Each fire mode is indicated with a colour-coded bullet pictogram, with the crossed-out bullet signifying "safe", and the single and multiple bullet symbols indicating the semi and full auto fire modes. The selector is present on either side, and the fact that this was designed into the AR36 from its conception means you will have no issues with the offside selector digging into your hand as you might with some M4 rifles.
The magazine release is located on the rear of the magazine well and is centrally positioned to allow access for both left and right-handed shooters. This mag release is a simple AK style design and can either be pressed with the thumb or hit with the next magazine itself in the "mag flip" reload style for when you need a new mag on your gat double time. The "mag flip" method is fast, but it can damage your magazines; fortunately, the AR36 has another trick up its sleeve to minimise your offline time between magazines...
AR36 magazines include linking lugs on each side which allow two (or more, heretics!) magazines to be linked together. This means you can carry two magazines on your gun, and reload faster than Chris Costa thanks to this inherent advantage in the AR36 platform. The G608-7 comes with a single 470rnd high capacity wheel wound magazine which has a generous capacity, but linking an extra high-cap to this means you could probably skirmish for most of the day without needing more ammo, or a rig to carry more magazines in!
The charging handle of the G608-7 can be found on top of the receiver, between the optics rail and the receiver itself. The charging handle is positioned centrally and has a folding extension which is accessible from either side. Pulling the charging handle back is not necessary to load the first BB, but it does retract the mock bolt carrier to reveal the rotary adjustable HOP-up unit.
This device can be used to vary the amount of backspin applied to each of your BBs as they are fired, extending their range and allowing you to tune your AEG for ammo of different weights. The rotary style adjuster is known to be a superb design and allows fine increments of adjustment while being firm enough to hold its setting under the vibrations of firing.
At the rear of the G608-7, we can find its side folding stock which is a skeletonized design to keep weight low but is exceptionally strong at the same time. This stock feels like a fixed solid stock when shouldered, and has a comfortable cheek weld for when you are shooting without a facemask. To fold the stock to the side simply press the stock folding button on the rear left of the receiver, and the stock can be folded to the right side and locked on the mock brass deflector. This is great for storage as it allows the AEG to fit into smaller gun bags and generally take up far less space, but can also be handy for CQB situations when things get tight. The real AR36 is designed to be shootable with the stock folded, so even the realism obsessed will be able to live with taking advantage of this highly functional aspect of the AR36 design.
Internally the G608-7 outdoes the original JG AR36c, known as a "wonder gun" when it was originally released over a decade ago for its unbeatable performance in its price bracket. Since then the newer JG AR36s have been kitted out with a quick change spring system, meaning you don't need to open the gearbox or remove the gearbox from the receiver to tune the power level of the G608-7, 8mm steel ball bearing bushings for smooth low friction running and reinforced CNC steel gears to ensure this AEG lasts a lifetime. The G608-7 is fully compatible with version 3 gearbox internals and Tokyo Marui AEG spec HOP-up rubbers and buckings, making it a great hassle-free upgrade platform if you want to build a demon of an AEG.
If you are looking for an AEG which doesn't look like everyone else's, but can still take all the tactical accessories necessary to rule the skirmish site and look like an operator while doing it, the JG G608-7 would be an excellent option. Unlike an AK, this AEG is ready for all the fancy western lasers and torches, and its forward-thinking design means it is a breeze to become familiar with and offers certain functions the prolific M4/AR15 platform wishes it had!

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
