This red/green dot sight is based on the real steel COMP M2/M68 CCO issued to the US Army with the M4A1 and still in production to this day under the name "AP PRO". 

The set includes a 30mm cantilever scope mount for 20mm Picatinny rails, pre-installed so you can mount it right away on any Airsoft rifle with a 20mm top rail. The cantilever mount provides the correct height over bore for M4/AR-15 rifles and should co-witness nicely with a fixed front sight post without requiring an additional riser or high-profile mount. If you prefer an alternative mount like the Wilcox mount used on MK18 MOD.0 or a lower profile option, the COMP M2 can be installed in any scope ring for 30mm monotubes, giving you loads of alternative mount options. 

The battery compartment is located at the top right of the sight body, accessible with the front cap unscrewed. A rubber retainer retains the cap but you can simply pull the rubber away to make unscrewing the cap easier and pop it back on when you're done. With the front cap removed, you can insert the included 3 LR44/AG13 button cells in the direction indicated on the right side of the compartment itself, remount the cap and you're ready to shoot. 

The illumination dial is on the rear of the battery compartment, offering a choice of red or green coloured dot reticles and 5 different brightness settings for each. This means you can choose the reticle colour which stands out best in your current environment and set the brightness to suit the ambient lighting conditions, quickly adjusting if anything changes. 

Present on the top and right sides respectively, we can find the elevation and windage adjustment dials, taking the form of capped turrets also retained by the same rubber retainer. Unscrewing each cap will reveal the adjustment dials, allowing you to zero the COMP M2 to perfection using a flathead screwdriver. The rubber retainer really comes into its own if you have to adjust out in the field; there is nothing worse than losing a turret cap and having your beautiful optic look scruffy!

Also included in the set is a pair of flip-up lens covers, an essential part of the iconic COMP M2 look. A neat trick often used by US Army soldiers is to keep the front cover closed and shoot with both eyes open, allowing you to keep the front lens protected and glare-free while you engage. Naturally, you will get far more light transmission with the front cover flipped up, but make sure you use a lens protector in-game!
