Description
If you're looking for a sleek, modern spec ops AR with some incredible external quality such as an anodised aluminium handguard and steel flash hider, the EMG Seekins Precision SBR8 With 9" Rail is a great choice! It features an array of quality-of-life and performance upgrades from G&G, sure to turn heads and keep your enemies' heads down! With G&Gs version 2 gearbox, cycling stop functionality and PDW stock, you can stay ahead of the game with this advanced compact assault rifle.
Beginning at the front of this real steel replica, you will find the aggressively styled flash hider. Its dynamic, angular and pronged design looks like it's ready to jab into a door for breaching (though we don't recommend that at your local CQB site). The flash hider is constructed from tough and well-weighted steel which helps with lining up shots and keeping things steady as it balances and distributes the rifle's weight perfectly.
This Seekins-licensed rifle comes preinstalled with an MCSRV2 Rail System replica. This is identical to the real steel rifle, keeping its design accurate. It features plenty of weight-reducing ports to help balance the rifle but they also greatly improve the overall aesthetic of the platform. At the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions, we are treated to M-LOK sections, ready for your mission essential attachments.
On both sides of the handguard, take note of the front and rear QD sling points, allowing you to modulate how you carry the SBR8 on the fly, depending on what situation you find yourself in. Whether you value additional movement or quick access to blasting, the rifle gives you those options on the fly. Additionally, there are two more QD sling points on the underside of the handguard, giving even more options for loadout configuration.
Above the handguard, we have a 20mm RIS rail, which runs along the full length of the handguard and receiver, giving the rifle a sleek and monolithic style, but attached to the rail is where the real features are. The front sight is a flip-up ironsight, easily flipped up with the thumb, which then locks in place, and is flipped back down again by pressing the side button.
The rear sight has an aperture design, allowing for incredibly accurate and fast target acquisition and takedown, but the real feature of this sight is that its windage and elevation are fully adjustable. Rotating the side toggle adjusts the sight from left to right, perfect for windage adjustment for those longer-range outdoor skirmishes. Just below the aperture sight is another rotary adjuster, which adjusts the sight up and down for elevation.
A unique feature of the SBR8 is the auto-stop feeding method. This means that the rifle won't cycle if the trigger is pulled when the included magazine is empty. The extended follower is also designed to feed fully into the receiver, eliminating any BBs coming loose when dropping the mag and reloading. The advantages of this are twofold. Firstly it lets you know without a shadow of a doubt that your mag is empty and it's time to reload, and secondly, it reduces unnecessary wear on the gearbox preventing you from dry firing the rifle.
Inside the magazine well is a switch that prevents cycling until the magazine is inserted. But if the included magazine is empty and the feeder is fully extended, the switch will also not be pressed, resulting in no cycling. Other STANAG magazines will work with this rifle with no problem but you will lose the cycling prevention functionality.
The receiver is constructed from aluminium alloy and boasts the exact same design as the real steel SP223 upper and lower receiver, sharing identical trademarks and style. It is made from aluminium alloy ensuring high durability but also minimising the extra weight of something like steel. Engraved on the right side of the SBR8's magwell is the EMG Seekins Precision logo, letting you know the rifle is of the highest calibre and letting your opponents know to fear it!
Another aesthetic and functional feature of the receiver is above the front of the magwell, the finger-ridged indentations aid grip and complement the contemporary look. The magwell itself sports a raised, curved design to allow for ease of reloading during those intense firefights. The mag release has a diamond textured finish, as does the bolt catch in keeping with the modern aesthetic. Featured is an enlarged trigger guard to aid in shooting while wearing gloves.
The pistol grip also features a ridged textured design on the front and rear to ensure a comfortable yet secure grip with or without gloves. The ridged design also keeps in with the sleek and dynamic aesthetic of the fire selector. Its ergonomic design works really well with the compact nature of this rifle's rear, allowing you to comfortably shoot from various positions.
This rifle's control layout should be familiar to anyone who has wielded an M4 before. The magazine release is in the typical place, with a raised section in front of it to protect it from accidental bumps and scratches. The fire selector is ambidextrous allowing you to pick your fire mode from either side of the platform.
The charging handle can be found at the top rear of the receiver and is an enlarged ambidextrous design to ensure you can find the control when you need it, even with your eyes up scanning the environment for your next target. On an Airsoft AEG, the charging handle is not used to cock the weapon but is instead used to pull the mock bolt carrier backwards either for realism's sake or to access the HOP-up.
The bolt release catch can be found just above the magazine catch and locks the bolt when the charging handle is pulled to the rear. This provides access to the rotary adjuster for the alloy HOP-up unit. The gear can be turned to tune the amount of backspin applied to your BBs and set the Phantom up for your ammo weight of choice. With your adjustment complete, you can now hit the upper portion of the bolt release catch which will send the mock bolt plate home with a satisfying snap.
To ensure this platform is perfect for urban combat, the SBR8 comes equipped with a PDW stock, reducing the overall footprint and balancing the weight. The metal adjustment rails keep the weight squarely to the centre of the rifle, as opposed to a metal buffer tube being towards the end. The stock has 3 settings and features weight-reducing cut-outs along the stock panel for a sleek and agile look, with the stock being able to be collapsed down to as close to the body as possible, making for a spec ops style aesthetic, which complements the rest of the gun perfectly. There is also a QD sling point present on the bottom of the polymer stock, the perfect place for one-half of a two-point sling.
The SBR8's battery compartment is found inside the stock tube at the rear of the gun. Due to the low voltage cut-off of the G&G in-line MOSFET, this AEG requires an 11.1V battery which is great news for fans of extreme rate of fire! It's a tight squeeze, so be careful of the other components, but the rifle will fit an 11.1V 600mAh 20/40C Battery for PDW for a comfortable fit and guaranteed fun!
When it comes to internals, the SBR8 boasts the same astonishingly fast gearbox found in the ARP-9, SSG-1, and ARP556; known as the G&G G2 gearbox. These are the platforms that really put G&G on the map with their lightning-fast rate of fire, snappy trigger response and of course, the in-line programmable MOSFET. The burst mode is controlled by the G&G electronic trigger unit, which is one of the best bits of this gearbox.
Speaking more about the G&G in-line MOSFET/ETU, it can be programmed for burst fire modes in both 3 and 5-round options for a different style of gameplay. To activate the 3-round burst mode, simply set the fire selector to semi-auto and hold down the trigger for 10 seconds while the mag is removed. Once completed the MOSFET will emit an audible confirmation to say that it is enabled.
Similarly, you can change full auto select to 5 round burst by moving the fire select from semi-auto to full-auto 5 times and the MOSFET will again emit a confirmation sound. To switch back to the spray and pray mode simply carry out this same process and you are back to sending a torrent of BBs downrange at the discretion of your trigger finger.
If you fancy a real steel replica and want something that stands out from the rest, the EMG Seekins Precision SBR8 With 9" Rail is an excellent choice! Its perfectly weighted design and options for burst fire, advanced features and internals, all come together in a sleek, modern operator-style look, you'd be hard-pressed to find a slicker rifle with a performance as excellent as this.

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
