Airsoft Christmas: Slay Ride | Patrol Base Christmas Advert
Patrol Base Christmas Video 2022: Slay Ride
We sure have a treat for you guys this year! Our Christmas Video for 2022 has to be our best yet, here it is for those who have not yet witnessed its awesomeness!
Despite our best efforts and the deployment of our elite tactical team, Santa was successful in spreading Christmas joy, and most importantly, discounts!
If you were wondering what discounts Santa unleashed you will want to sign up for our newsletter, we are discounting a different top Airsoft brand's entire line of kit each day, but the only way to find out which is on is in our email announcements, or by trawling the site yourself!
Save yourself the trouble, sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of any page for a new discount drop every day until Christmas!
The Patrol Base Tactical Team - Kit List
The Patrol Base boss really really did not want to give out discounts this year so he hired and equipped an elite mercenary team with some seriously gucci kit to make sure the job gets done properly.
The team rolled out rocking Sig Air MPX and MCX primary weapons with Umarex Glocks on their belts as sidearms, but even with the best equipment and the best tactical team that money can buy they were no match for Santa himself, who tore them to shreds with a merry smirk on his face.
As much as bad workmen like to blame their tools, the tactical team did not live to make their excuses, and we concur, while the MPX and MCX are no match for a metaphysical Santa the team went in with the best kit for the job and failed regardless, to the benefit of Patrol Base customers everywhere!
Those with an eye for the details are probably curious about the equipment seen in in this epic tale of Christmas violence. Join us as we take a closer look at the kit we used for the video and give you some ideas for your own generic tactical team loadouts!
The Weapons - Sig Air MPX and MCX AEGs
When it comes to choosing a primary weapon for our tactical team, none can do it quite like the Sig Air MCX Virtus AEG. The real Sig MCX is currently issued to many armed Police units in the UK as well as CTSFO, the counter-terrorist arm of the UK Police, and was the natural choice for our "elite" team.
Two MCXs were carried by the tactical team, both being optimised for mid to long range engagements and equipped with holographic style red dot sights with flip-to-side magnifiers.
Tactical team member 2, played by Stuart Manks, host of our PBTV Livestreams had his MCX equipped with a suppressor, more specifically the 5KU USSOCOM 5.56 SF Spitfire Tracer Sound Suppressor so Stu can handle any threats which need dealing with discretely, per the Bosses orders. Stu's primary is also equipped with the NUPROL Wetech 882 Holographic Sight paired with the Ghost 3x Flip to Side Micro Magnifier to handle threats at a distance, and a NUPROL NX600 Scout Tactical Flashlight to illuminate the dark corners of the Patrol Base warehouse.
Tactical team member 1, played by Ian, our Creative Content Writer, was similarly equipped with a red dot sight magnifier combination in the form of the NUPROL WeTech 881 Holographic Sight paired with the Theta Optics 3x35 V2 Flip-to-side Sight Magnifier and a NUPROL NX600 Scout Tactical Flashlight to cut through the smoke and shed some light on a dark and disturbing situation.
Equipping the MCX-wielding tactical team members with a flip-to-side magnifier gives them the option of using the magnifier to land some shots on Santa at range, like that is even possible, and flipping back to just the holographic when he inevitably closes ground for the kill.
The MCX is a great platform for close to medium range but for clearing the tight corners of the Patrol Base warehouse the final 3 team members were sporting the MCX's little brother, the Sig Air MPX SMG. Being a more compact platform, the MPX is well suited for CQB, though it was no match for Santa's hand-to-hand combat skills...
Tactical team member 3, played by Sam, the Creative Lead in the Patrol Base Marketing Department took the compact and modern Sig Air MPX into the fray to try to deal with Santa and protect the PB discounts.
His MPX is equipped with a NUPROL NX600 Mini Scout Tactical Flashlight and a Theta Optics XTO Red dot sight, both of which are well suited to the MPX being compact versions of the larger accessories shown on the MCXs used by the team.
Unfortunately, the MPX was not enough to prevent Santa from suddenly materialising amongst the remnants of the squad and doing his work with festive cheer. We gave our squad the best chance but to no avail!
Armed to the teeth but still outgunned, Tactical team member 4, played by Allesandro aka Alex of the Workshop department had a go at the big guy with the big beard, rocking an MPX with a NURPOL NX600 Mini Scout Tactical Flashlight and a Vector Optics Frenzy-S red dot sight. Allesandro also carried his Umarex Glock 42 Gen.4, but it was no match for the merry menace...
The first victim of Santa, the Patrol Base Guard was played by Petr Samarek who has worked all over Patrol Base in several departments and also played Tactical Team Member 5. As the Guard, Petr was unarmed, but in the Tac Team, he was also sporting the Sig Air MPX equipped with a Theta Optics XTO Red Dot Sight and NUPROL NX600 Mini Scout light. Having died not just once, but twice, we would like to thank Petr for his sportsmanship!
After a mag dump into Santa and the surroundings, Petr was taken out with an otherworldly punch straight to the chest, shattering him to his very core. Luckily he is a tough guy, and you may see him Marshalling at HALO MILL in Huddersfield sometime soon after a short recovery!
The final weapon to discuss is Santa's magic Desert Eagle which he can materialise at will from thin air, apparently! As much as he had things handled without needing to resort to uncivilised firearms, Santa was packing the Cyber Gun Desert Eagle .50AE Semi Auto GBB Pistol in Silver.
Our Santa was not actually played by Santa himself, though you would be forgiven for thinking so! Jon Aery, a former Patrol Base employee was our Santa, and if the real Santa ever needs a shift covered, Jon could handle it seamlessly! A big thanks to Jon for his superb acting, amazing costume and for sending the Patrol Base Tactical Team packing so all of our wonderful customers can get some decent discounts for the festive season!
The Gear - Viper Tactical, PTS Syndicate and Earmor
Now, onto the gear! We used a mixture of kit to equip our Tactical Team with the primary focus being on looking the part. When you ask mum for CTSFO and she tells you "we have CTSFO at home", she is probably talking about the PB Tactical Team!
Just look how good they all look! We're sure the Patrol Base boss was very proud, right up until things started to go awry, that is!
Tactical Team Member 1 rocked the Viper Tactical Armour Hoodie in Black with a Viper Tactical VP VX Buckle Up Carrier GEN2 in Titanium Grey on the top half and Invader Gear Revenger TDU Trousers in Wolf Grey with his own personal rigger belt. Headwear-wise, a PTS MTEK FLUX Helmet and an Earmor M32 MOD.3 headset were worn to give the elite looks appropriate for "the best tactical team money can buy".
Team Member Number 2 also used the PTS MTEK FLUX Helmet, this time with Earmor M32 cans with the Earmor Helmet Adapter for the Flux Helmet, and a plethora of custom patches. The rig worn by Stu is his own personal kit, and for operational security reasons, he has declined to tell us what he was rocking!
Pssst, it was the Emerson 420 Plate Carrier
Our first MPX-wielding Tactical Team member, number 3, was wearing a Viper Tactical Lazer Special Ops Plate Carrier Vest in black, and the team standard PTS MTEK FLUX Helmet paired with an Earmor M32 MOD.3 headset. His uniform was a Viper Tactical combo, with Viper Tactical Contractor Pants and a Viper Fleece hoodie, both in fetching Titanium Grey.
Team members 4 and 5 wore a mixture of their own kit, including Invader Gear combat uniforms and FAST helmets from NUPROL and FMA. For protection, they were equipped with an 8Fields Tactical Lightweight AAV FSBE Assault Vest System V2 each, though foam plates are no protection against Santa's might!
Last but definitely not least, the Patrol Base Boss, played by Peter Boyd our Photographer was wearing his Sunday best and looked absolutely dapper with an 8Fields Tactical Buckle Up Assault Plate Carrier with Cummerbund over the top. In the event that things go wrong, the Boss always carries a WE Europe Makarov Assassin GBB Pistol with Silencer to ensure things are sanitised. Dead men tell no tales, just ask the Driver, played by Malc Coton!
There you have it! Our breakdown of the kit worn by our Tactical Team. If you are planning on going toe to toe with Santa this year beware, these loadouts may give you a slick look for the Sunday skirmish, but rest assured, there is no stopping him!🎅
Our final thanks go to those working behind the camera, first and foremost being our Cameraman, Producer and Editor, Nick Helliwell. Thanks to Nick's creative vision, his expert camera work, incredible motion graphics mastery and editing skills, this has been our best video yet, and this simply wouldn't be possible without the expertise of a true authority in the realm of video. Nick also provided the Patrol Base Bear, who we expect to see a lot more of in future videos!
Callum "Dox" Coton, our Graphic Designer, did a lot of work around the set assisting Nick, played a prime role in set dressing and was the brain behind many of the epic death scenes. Thanks Dox, keep those ideas coming, maybe next year you'll get your head twisted off!
A final thanks to the directors of Patrol Base for approving this video and allowing us to stretch our creative legs. Thankfully for us, they have a great sense of humour and are far nicer than our fictional Patrol Base Boss character!
We hope you all enjoyed our heartwarming Christmas Story and that you also got your fair share of Santa's discounts 🎅 From all of us here at Patrol Base, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
