- Full metal construction
- TDC Adjustable HOP-up unit
- Fixed outer barrel for improved accuracy
If you like your Hi-capa to go far and fast, the Novristch SSP2 has your name on it! This unique Hi-capa platform design was developed by Novritsch's tech team in Austria, boasting some of the most thoughtful improvements we have seen in the Hi-capa design, with a focus on pure performance.
The SSP2 is rocking a fixed outer barrel for improved accuracy and a semi-split slide for improved cyclic rate and gas efficiency, pairing perfectly with the TDC adjustable HOP-up unit, 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel and Maple Leaf silicone HOP-up bucking for a real beast of a pistol with unheard of accuracy and range. On the outside, the SSP2 is also something special, with a unique look which cannot be mistaken for anything else. If you run pistol only or you need a long range sidearm solution, the SSP2 will be a true asset to your kitlist.

Description
The Novritsch SSP2 is Novritsch's more budget-friendly alternative to the SSP5 Hi-capa, boasting most of the superb feature set of the SSP5, most notably its quite frankly insane performance at long range. The high performance bar is all down to the superb combination of a fixed outer barrel, 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel, TDC HOP-up unit and Maple Leaf silicone HOP-up bucking, giving it all the upgrades Hi-capa fans want straight out of the box, with no technical hurdles to overcome.
On the outside, the SSP2 is equally special, with the bespoke Novritsch look which is certain to get it noticed on the field. The slide is weight reduced throughout and is a semi-split design, with the front section remaining in place and providing a fixed front iron sight for faster follow-up shots. The grip sports comfortable dot texture which both looks great and provides ample grip for all weather operations, and at the base of the grip we are treated to a flared magazine well to make reloads fast and easy. If your sidearm is no holster queen and you like to get stuck in with your pistol, the SSP2 is the pistol you want to have!
Starting up front we can see the fixed outer barrel and fixed front slide section, providing a fixed location for the front sight post for faster follow-up shots and improving accuracy by removing the usual Hi-capa tilting barrel. The original Hi-capa barrel tilts as the slide cycles to simulate the way the real pistol functions, but being a performance seeker, Novritsch omits this function in favour of better in game performance to give you the edge over those wielding standard Hi-capa platforms.
Recessed into the front slide section, we can find female barrel threading to allow a tracer unit or suppressor to be mounted. As far as we can tell, this threading is Novritsch specific (it appears to be 12mm CCW female), meaning if you want to get sneaky with the SSP2 you will need a Novritsch Hi-capa thread adapter.
Moving rearwards along the slide we come to the weight reducing recesses, designed in to help the slide cycle swiftly and improve gas efficiency. These recesses also make a fantastic place to add grip tape to improve the SSP2's handling and allow it to be racked from the front of the slide quickly and easily, in line with competition shooting convention. Present on either side of the slide, these recesses also add a lot to the aesthetic of the SSP2, keeping things in line with Novritsch's other releases and giving the pistol a dynamic, aggressive look.
Next up we arrive at the chamber, upon which we can see a grub screw. This is the TDC HOP-up unit and can be tuned to allow for any BB weight between 0.28g and 0.46g. For a pistol, this is very impressive and is a big part of what gives the SSP2 the range of a rifle with the portability of a handgun. Inside the HOP-up unit, we are also treated to a Maple Leaf silicone HOP-up bucking which should provide superb cold-weather performance and excellent accuracy. The HOP-up unit allows the trajectory of your BBs to be tuned to suit the weight of ammo you are using and a TDC unit has the benefit of applying tension directly to the top of the HOP-up rubber to minimise side-to-side shot deviation.
At the rear of the slide, we come to our rear sight, which is a unique low-profile design intended to reduce snags when drawing and reholstering. The rear sight blends very well with the shape of the slide, providing a completed look which simply cannot be imitated by any other Hi-capa. The sights are white dot iron sights and are fixed combat sights, favouring strength and reliability over adjustability.
The sides of the rear of the slide are adorned with octagonal texture which functions as serrations and only adds to the unique look of the SSP2. Also appearing on the top of the slide, just in front of the rear sight, these serrations help the slide to be racked quickly to bring the pistol back into action after a reload. Over on the right side, just below the chamber, we can find our trademarks, in the form of "NOVRITSCH SSP-2" laser engraved in white in the Novritsch font we all recognise. Novritsch is proud of the SSP2 for good reason, and if you are rocking one, you should be proud too!
The frame of the SSP2 follows the standard Hi-capa format, with an alloy frame paired with a high density polymer modular grip/trigger guard assembly. A 20mm Picatinny frame rail is present at the front of the frame and is nice and long as a bonus. This allows you to add tactical flashlights and lasers (if your local site allows it) to give the SSP2 the primary pistol treatment and give you the edge in CQB.
Just above the frame rail on either side, we can see a line of 5 threaded holes. These holes are designed to allow Novritsch's red dot sight mount to be added along with his universal holster adapter, giving you plenty of accessory options built right into the pistol. The benefit of Novritsch's competition-style red dot sight mount over a slide-mounted red dot is that it stays fixed in place during firing, meaning no issues when it comes to keeping a precise zero and quicker follow-up shots.
The controls also follow the familiar Hi-capa/1911 platform layout, making for an easy transition to the SSP2 for those already accustomed to Hi-capa or 1911 GBBs. The slide lock/release lever is on the left side, right where we would expect to see it, but it has an extended design which makes it easy to reach from a firing grip, even for those with smaller hands.
The manual safety is at the rear of the frame and is mirrored on either side, providing ambidextrous functionality that both right and left-handed shooters will appreciate. While extended and textured, both the slide lock and safety are designed to minimise the potential for snagging, extending away from the frame of the pistol enough to be effective but not enough to get caught on your holster during a fast draw under pressure.
At the rear of the grip, we can find the beavertail grip safety, a device designed to lock the trigger when the SSP2 is not gripped. This prevents negligent discharges during a fast draw and is a great secondary safety device to give extra confidence to newer players wielding SSP2. Below the beavertail, we can find diamond texturing on the hammer spring housing, giving you a hint of the classic Hi-capa aesthetic amongst the Novritsch uniqueness.
The sides and front of the grip are equipped with dot texture which provides superb grip with or without gloves and is also a big part of what gives the SSP2 its iconic look. At the base of the grip, we are treated to a subtlety flared magazine well, assisting with speedy reloads and allowing for eyes-up reloads for more experienced shooters. This flared magwell is far smaller than most, fitting in well with the high-speed, low-drag design of the SSP2 for reduced snags and "combat pistol" style handling. The magazine release is on the left side of the grip, taking the form of a circular button which is prominent and easy to press but not so easy that it can be bumped accidentally.
The trigger is right where it should be, inside the trigger guard which boasts undercuts to allow for a higher grip and better recoil control. The trigger is a flat design just like most other Novristch Airsoft guns, excelling when it comes to rapid semi-automatic fire and adding to the stylish aesthetic of the SSP2 with its skeletonised design. The external hammer is made from steel and is located at the rear of the frame, with a dynamic angular shape and a skeletonised design to reduce weight and suit the visual language expressed by the SSP2.
While the externals of the SSP2 are rather nice, its real strengths are in its internals. Novritsch has reinvented the wheel so to speak, with a fixed outer barrel paired with a TDC HOP-up unit, a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel and Maple Leaf silicone HOP-up bucking. This combo is what allows the SSP2 to reach out to rifle like ranges, and its semi-split slide with fixed front sight position allows you to put rounds on target effectively and outrange almost every other pistol on site.
Whether you're a sniper looking for a beast of a sidearm or a primary pistol user looking to get the edge over others and contend with all the riflemen, the SSP2 is the right tool for the job. With Hi-capa magazine compatibility, an extensive redesign focused on pure performance and looks to really stand out, the SSP2 is one to take note of in the safe zone and keep well clear of in game!

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
