If you seek more accuracy and range from your AEG, the Prometheus Bridge HOP-up Tensioner for AEGs will help you achieve it! Supplied as a pack of two tensioners, these are the "Bridge" style design with a central groove designed to reduce side-to-side deviation, focussing on maximum accuracy and providing the smallest grouping possible. The contact surface provided by this HOP-up nub (another word for tensioner) is far larger than the standard, resulting in a stronger backspin effect and extended range with heavy-weight BBs. 

The two tensioners included in the set are of different colours; one purple and one black. The purple tensioner is made from softer rubber, designed for sub-350 FPS builds and the black one is slightly harder, ideal for 350 FPS and above, making it the perfect tensioner for an AEG DMR. Compatibility-wise, these tensioners should fit almost any Airsoft AEG HOP-up unit but as always is the case with internal upgrades, we only recommend these for experienced techs and those who know their way around AEG internals. Building a speed demon of an AEG? You will need high speed gears to get the most out of it! The CNC steel High Speed Gearset from CYMA has a 13:1 ratio, which means every 13 motor turns the gearbox will cycle once, which is a step faster than standard 18:1 Airsoft gears. These gears pair perfectly with a high speed motor to provide a demonic rate of fire, as can be seen in the latest upgraded versions of CYMA's Platinum series AEGs. This gearset is designed for use with M120 springs and below only, so should be fine for most UK legal Airsoft AEGs but is not suitable for a DMR rifle with high FPS. This gearset is a version 2/3 set so should work in any AEG with a V2/3 gearbox and many others which share the same gears.

If you are looking for an affordable way to add advanced functionality to your M4/AR-15 AEG, this is worth a look! The Delta Armory Programmable ETU Processor Unit for V2 Gearbox replaces your conventional trigger assembly and offers burst mode, binary trigger and pre-cocking, all of which can be programmed in using the fire controls of the AEG itself. 

This ETU should fit most M4/AR-15s which use a version 2 gearbox, but we only recommend this part for experienced techs and those in the know when it comes to Airsoft internal upgrades. The ETU is also pre-wired to a Deans/T-Plug battery connector in rear wired configuration and spade connectors for your motor, so you shouldn't need your soldering iron!

Upgrade your AEGs piston head to improve air seal and increase the efficiency of airflow through the cylinder. This piston from FPS Softair has ports on the front to push out the O-ring as it moves forwards, this ensures that all of the air in the cylinder is being pushed out to propel the BB.

This is the most advanced version with 8 ventilation holes for higher speed and rate of fire, double O-ring and ball-bearing. This head is designed for version 2 and 3 gearboxes but may fit other types.

If your AEG needs a bit of extra accuracy to get the job done, a tightbore inner barrel will do the trick! This Stainless Steel Tightbore Inner Barrel from ZCI has a 6.02mm bore, meaning a slight rise in FPS using the same mainspring and improvements in accuracy at long range. 

These barrels are designed to fit any Tokyo Marui spec AEG and are constructed from stainless steel for maximum rigidity and to retain straightness in the long term. If you want glowing BBs without making your primary any longer, the CYMA Tracer HOP-Up Chamber for M4/AR-15 AEGs is a great shout! This alloy rotary HOP-up chamber integrates a tracer module, just like more expensive alternatives with the option to use red or green tracer BBs. The set includes everything you need to complete the HOP-up chamber build, including the bucking and nub. 

This unit is powered by your AEG's battery through the balance cable, meaning it will only work with LiPo batteries unless you have something home-brewed in mind. The set includes 3 sets of wiring for use with 7.4V LiPo, 11.1V LiPo or custom battery solutions, all of which connect to the pre-wired connector on the HOP-up unit itself.

Depending on your specific platform, fitting may also require modification to your receiver. As such, we only recommend this unit for those who are comfortable working on AEG internals. If you are experiencing issues with semi-automatic as your AEG gets older, the likelihood is your switch assembly/trigger contacts have become corroded and need replacing.
