If you seek realism and want to challenge yourself in game, the EMG Noveske N4 "Ghetto Blaster" 10.5" MWS ZET System GBBR will scratch that itch! This Gas Blowback Rifle boasts full metal construction, licensed Noveske trademarks and some incredible internals modelled from the best when it comes to GBBRs; the Tokyo Marui ZET system.

This rifle is definitely a step up from a battery-powered M4! A GBBR provides unparalleled realism with its realistic operations such as loading the first round using the charging handle, counting your shots carefully due to low-cap magazines and taking your reloading skills to the next level thanks to its functional bolt lock. While it may seem like a lot to learn and get used to, there is nothing that can touch a GBBR when it comes to its immersive firing experience and unparalleled realism.

Licensed by Noveske through EMG and manufactured by Double Eagle, the "Ghetto Blaster" has absolutely gorgeous externals, with a thick, hard-wearing finish that looks phenomenal and showcases the crisply engraved Noveske trademarks. It also has a full steel trigger group pre-installed, saving you money down the line on essential longevity upgrades required to keep a GBBR up and running.

Description

If you like real steel platforms then there's a good chance you will be familiar with the Noveske "Ghetto Blaster". The real steel platform is shorter than this Airsoft replica but really that makes this version better, with more rail space for customisation and a longer inner barrel for improved accuracy potential.

At first glance, "Ghetto Blaster" is a peculiar name for a rifle. But when you consider that "Ghetto Blaster" is actually an alternative name for the Boomboxes of the 1980s, you will find that this name is more than appropriate when experiencing this rifle's powerful performance and portability on the battlefield, similar to carrying a boombox.

A GBBR is the perfect platform for an AEG user who is getting bored of the shrill sewing machine sound, lack of recoil and unrealistic capacity magazines. With a GBBR, you are treated to the highest levels of realism Airsoft can offer; with realistic-looking internals, perfect 1:1 dimensions, shoulder-thumping recoil you have to work to control and realistic capacity magazines which require the charging handle to be pulled or the bolt catch slapped to bring the rifle online after a reload.

Nothing beats the satisfaction of bagging a kill with a GBBR, though it doesn't come without challenges. With a gas power source and low-cap magazines, you will have to choose your shots and when it comes time to reload, showcase your handling skills. If you're the type of player who gets a kick out of working hard like the real warriors do, you'll love a GBBR!

Starting at the front of this platform, we are greeted with an unusual but stylish muzzle device. The "Cherry Bomb" is a real steel muzzle brake developed by Q, the real steel firearms company behind the popular "Honey Badger" and other suppressed rifle builds. It is certainly not like anything else seen in the typical Airsoft scene, but don't worry, if you find it too extravagant for your tastes, you can unscrew it to reveal 14mm CCW threading for alternative muzzle devices. The outer barrel is finished in matt silver, matching the real N4 series of rifles and giving the Double Eagle GBBR a bit of tasteful contrast while not being too garish or ruining your concealment efforts in a woodland environment.

Moving rearwards, we come to the aluminium handguard, modelled after the NHR real steel handguard featuring M-LOK slots and Picatinny rail sections. This gives the rifle a modern and dynamic look and matches the real steel platform perfectly. The top Picatinny section runs all the way back and meets the receiver seamlessly, allowing for larger scope setups if you so desire. Being an EMG-licenced replica, the handguard sports Noveske trademarks at the base, reading "NHR-9" with "NOVESKE.COM" beneath.

As we reach the receiver we can take note of the familiar and well-placed M4/AR-15 controls, though the receiver itself is a little different to the standard AR. It has a low-profile design with ambidextrous controls like the magazine release, bolt release and fire selector. This is perfect for agile skirmishers who often find themselves shooting from all sorts of unusual positions. The lower receiver is a standard M4/AR-15 receiver but with Noveske markings on the magazine well, body pins, and just aft of the mock bolt catch. Plenty of trademarks on this beast, perfect for realism fans!

On the top of the receiver, we can find a 20mm Picatinny rail, as we might expect! This means the Ghetto Blaster is ready for a red dot sight or scope, with plenty of room for BUIS or a rear-mounted magnifier. Between the receiver rail and charging handle, we are treated to a flawlessly engraved Noveske logo, discretely showing off this GBBR's real steel pedigree.

The fire selector switch is right where expected on the left side of the receiver, but is also found on the right side, just above the pistol grip. Offering 3 modes of fire with a 45-degree throw between each, the selector is one of the highlights of the AR platform; secure enough to avoid inadvertent mode changes but fast enough to play "sights off, safety off". The available fire modes are SAFE, SEMI and AUTO, marked with engravings in classic M4/AR-15 style.

The magazine release catch can be found on both sides of the magazine well, lying well within reach of your trigger finger for super slick and easy fast reloads. On the left side of the receiver, we can find the mock bolt catch, taking the form of the classic M4/AR-15 "ping pong paddle". This catch allows you to release the bolt after a reload, speeding things up by removing the charging handle from the reload process. Both the mag release and bolt catch are constructed from steel which is very important for a GBBR as these high wear parts tend to be the first to fail. Using steel here saves you money on essential upgrades down the line.

At the top rear of the receiver, we can find the ambidextrous charging handle, known by Noveske as the "Super Badass" charging handle. The handle has an ergonomic textured latch on either side, providing intuitive handling for both left and right-handed shooters. The charging handle needs to be pulled to load the first BB, but make sure the fire selector is set to the "SEMI" position before pulling the charging handle to avoid damaging the selector/trigger mech. With the charging handle pulled back, you will see even more Noveske markings on the handle stem itself!

The HOP-up unit of the "Ghetto Blaster" is located inside the upper receiver, following the Tokyo Marui ZET system format. Taking the form of a small gear inside the front of the upper receiver, the HOP-up adjustment dial is accessible through the ejection port if you have small fingers or a fine tool. The easiest way we found to adjust is by field stripping the rifle and accessing the dial with the bolt carrier and charging handle removed. The HOP-up allows you to tune the N4 Shorty for different ammo weights and extend your range, looking for the flattest possible trajectory.

The trigger guard is enlarged to allow for full-fingered glove use and boasts a Noveske logo on the bottom, bringing it into line with the rest of the design. To match the real thing, an ergonomic Noveske grip is fitted with a refined grip angle intended to reduce wrist fatigue when shooting with the stock fully collapsed. The grip has a filled-out back strap and linear texture on the front and rear along with dot texture on the flanks, providing ample grip for wet weather operations and a super comfy grip you will never need to change.

Following the receiver, we reach the PDW-style buffer tube stock bars. The bars are constructed from aluminium and provide 3 positions of adjustment. To adjust the stock position, press the button on the left side of the buffer tube and slide the stock. The butt plate is constructed from high-density polymer and features a textured butt plate, providing comfort and security when wearing full-body gear and operating from modern shooting stances.

On the inside, the "Ghetto Blaster" has some surprises in store. The trigger group parts are all constructed from steel, meaning you won't have to spend hundreds on steel trigger parts later in the platform's life to keep it running. The bolt catch is also steel, guaranteeing reliable bolt locking at the end of each magazine for a realistic experience that will last in the long term.

The design of the TM ZET system itself is very resistant to wear, unlike previously conceived GBBR systems. The aftermarket for the ZET system is also constantly growing, meaning you have access to the latest GBBR internal parts and the most up-to-date upgrades to keep this GBBR at the bleeding edge of performance. As far as compatibility goes, the ZET system uses unbridged VSR/GBB inner barrels and VSR/GBB HOP-up rubbers, so if you want more range and accuracy out of this beast you have access to the exceptional Maple Leaf Crazy Jet, TNT S+ and Laylax Prometheus tightbore inner barrels, just like the VSR-10 sniper rifle platform.

If you're ready to experience the true realism that Airsoft has to offer you definitely want a GBBR rifle. The EMG Noveske N4 "Ghetto Blaster" 10.5" MWS ZET System GBBR is a great choice for any skirmisher, the realism of a gas blowback system combined with the trademarks and design of a real steel platform make for an incredibly enjoyable and realistic experience whilst out on the battlefield!

Special Instructions

This is a Gas Blowback Rifle. GBBRs require maintenance and careful handling and we do not recommend them for new skirmishers. Things to watch out for if this is your first GBBR:

The rifle cannot be put into "Safe" mode without first being cocked. Generally, the best way to store a GBBR is with the magazine removed, the rifle un-cocked and the fire selector set to "semi". Do not force the selector into "Safe" when the rifle isn't cocked; this will damage the trigger group parts.

The HOP-up adjuster for this TM ZET system GBBR is inside the upper receiver and is accessible through the ejection port, or with the rifle in field-stripped condition.

GBBRs need to be cocked before the first shot, just like a GBB pistol. It is important that you do not double load a GBBR as this can break the nozzle. We recommend clearing the chamber of BBs with a cleaning rod in the event that you finish firing mid-magazine and the bolt does not lock back and shows an empty chamber.

GBBRs generally use higher pressure gas than GBB pistols due to the extra weight of the bolt. We recommend Green Gas (NUPROL 2.0, VORSK V6, ASG Ultrair) for general use and Red Gas (NUPROL 3.0, VORSK V8) for cold weather use.

The faster you shoot a GBBR, the less accurate it will be. This is due to pressure variance as the gas reservoir cools down. Full auto is basically for fun, and these rifles run far better when used in semi-auto mode.

Like a GBB pistol, GBBR magazines require maintenance. We recommend leaving a small amount of gas inside the magazine when stored, and not storing the magazines in a cold or damp environment. Magazine seals and valves will need lubrication and to be kept clear of dust and debris.
