The lenses used in the Venom 1-6x24 feature absolute zero image distortion, meaning what you see with your eye is what you will see through the optic, with no darkened or tinted view like many other Holographic sights. The extra-low dispersion glass increases resolution and colour fidelity, resulting in crisp, sharp images. The objective lens is multi-coated to reduce glare and ensure the sight is still usable in bright conditions whilst minimising the chances the sun rays will catch your lens and expose your location.

The 25mm objective lens allows for a good field of view when scoping out the potential opponents hiding in the foliage. The lenses also feature VORTEX's own FHQ technology, minimising stray light transmission and preventing the light from the illumination function from being visible at the dangerous end of the sight. Part of the lens coating treatment is ArmorTek ultra-hard scratch-resistant, oil-resistant and dirt-resistant coating, ensuring your lens is difficult to scratch and resists dirt well, giving you a clear sight picture when you need it. The design of the sight itself is very conducive to high strength, with the delicate precise lenses protected by a CNC machined aluminium hood, and the sensitive electronics stored within a secure adjustable turret, affording them maximum protection.

The Venom 1-6x24 is also waterproof, and fogproof, thanks to its gas-purged and o-ring sealed interior, eliminating air pockets within the scope and ensuring that you won't get any fogging in wet conditions or any moisture inside the scope so it stays nice and dry and functional.

The Vortex Venom 1-6x24 SFP AR-BDC3 Riflescope offers variable magnification between 1x and 6x via the magnification dial surrounding the eyepiece at the rear, offering fast adjustment so you can keep pace with the rapidly changing skirmish environment. Also in the box is a throw lever so you can make your range adjustments even easier if you're a gloved skirmisher. The 1x function isn't true 1x, being closer to 1.25 or 1.5 to our eyes, but is still useful for engaging sudden threats at close ranges, offering red dot sight-like engagement speed with the ability to zoom in to deal with more distant threats.

On the left side, we can find the illumination adjustment turret which offers 6 different brightness settings for the reticle. This allows you to run the Venom 1-6x24 illuminated with a red glowing reticle for maximum visibility in low-lighting settings. The 6 brightness settings allow you to adjust the optic to provide the best possible clarity in any ambient lighting conditions but you can still use the reticle without illumination. A CR2032 is included in the box and the battery compartment is accessed by untwisting the top part of the illumination adjustment turret.

Windage and elevation adjustments are applied via the capped adjustment turrets on the right side and top respectively. To access the dials for adjustment, simply unscrew the caps and adjust away. These turrets can be adjusted by hand and provide a satisfying tactile click. These turrets retain their settings well due to their sturdy aluminium construction and protective cap. With your adjustment complete, tighten the caps down to keep the scope set perfectly and dirt and debris clear of the delicate internals. Perfectly zero your scope to ensure you have a dominating performance out on the battlefield.

Hidden beneath the pre-installed flip-up lens cap at the rear, we can find the fast focus adjustment dial. This allows you to adjust focus for different ranges and tune the optic to suit your eye. If you're taking a long-range shot and find the image is blurry, turn the dial and it will sharpen up. Likewise, if you've been viewing a long-range objective and turn to engage a target at close range, a quick turn of the dial will ensure a perfect view of your target.
