Looking for a decent all-rounder Airsoft AEG with an interesting backstory? The MC51 from Jing Gong may have what it takes! This AEG is based on the real steel MC51, a G3 based rifle designed by FR Ordanance in the UK and intended to replace the MP5 in service with the SAS. The rifle served with the SAS for a brief period before it was replaced with the much more sane HK53, a 5.56mm derivative of the G3. This was due to the uncontrollable recoil of the MC51, and though its mighty 7.62x51mm cartridge provided the power the SAS were seeking, it proved too much to make a practical close-quarters rifle.
The MC51 may have left service in a hurry, but it still lives on in the form of customised G3 and HK91 rifles in the US, the land of the free and home of those who absolutely love hard recoiling rifles with blinding muzzle flash!

Description
Introducing the T3 MC51 AEG from JG, a solid performing AEG assault rifle with a polymer body, keeping the rifle light, wieldy, and affordable. Based on the real MC51, a short variant of the G3 battle rifle, the real firearm fires the big boy 7.62x51mm, and comes with a G3 style high capacity magazine holding a whopping 500 rounds! Equipped with a fixed stock with a much larger than normal battery compartment, this variant of the MC51 is a great platform for both indoor and outdoor skirmishes. To sweeten the deal, JG has also thrown in a 20mm Picatinny receiver rail which can be installed onto the claw mount brackets on the receiver and allow you to mount a red dot sight or scope on this "what if" classic rifle.
The real MC51 was designed at the request of the SAS, who required a short barrelled rifle with improved stopping power over the MP5's 9mm cartridge. The design was trialled but never entered service due to its monstrous muzzle flash and recoil. Similarly configured G3 and HK91 rifles still see use by civilians in America, where the culture seems to value blinding light and deafening noise as a way to "one-up" a friend's latest firearm purchase, primarily for entertainment value.
Starting at the tip we find the alloy G3 style flash hider which threads onto the 14mm CCW male threads at the tip of the alloy outer barrel. The outer barrel is around SMG5/MP5 length, making the MC51 a manoeuvrable platform for room clearing in CQB, as the original rifle was intended. As we move rearward we come across the front sight, which is made from alloy and is a fully hooded design, protecting it from damage. Integral to the front sight block we can find a sling loop, mounted to the left side of the sight block. Behind this, we can see the pin which retains the polymer handguard; simply push the pin through from the right side to remove the handguard from the rifle.
The polymer handguard of the MC51 is triangular in profile, similar to that of the SMG-5. This design helps provide additional grip which assists in applying "downforce" to control the muzzle rise when firing in full auto. Obviously, this means little for Airsoft, though the dynamic shape of the handguard and its profile result in a very ergonomic and comfortable handguard, whether you wear gloves when skirmishing or not.
Above the handguard lies the polymer cocking tube, within which resides an alloy HK style charging handle, which actuates the mock bolt and allows access to the rotary HOP unit inside the receiver. The charging handle can be locked up into its "safety notch" to access the HOP unit more easily but we do not recommend doing the "HK slap" with this rifle, due to its polymer construction.
The cocking tube leads back to the polymer receiver, which features the ejection port on the right side, and two grooves along either side allowing a sliding stock to be used while keeping the sides of the rifle flat and slim to prevent snagging. Atop the receiver, we can find the rear iron sight, which is a rotary drum aperture type sight providing 4 differently sized apertures to aim through depending on the range you are shooting at and the level of precision required. Between the rear sight and the ejection port there are 4 raised lugs moulded into the receiver, providing a mounting point for G3 and MP5 "claw" type receiver rail mounts, should you require an optical sight. A low-profile receiver rail is included in the box, ready for your optic of choice!
The magazine uses a "rock and lock" style insertion, allowing the magazine to lock into the rifle reliably with little chance of it falling out. The magazine can be released in two ways; with the ambidextrous "paddle" protruding at the bottom of the receiver ahead of the trigger guard, and with the button release, found on the right side of the receiver above the paddle. The lower receiver/ fire control group is made from polymer, and features an ergonomic pistol grip, providing a solid and comfortable grip for both right and left-handed users. The fire selector, found on the left side, features a textured extension to ensure your thumb can easily move it between modes without slipping off.
The stock of the MC51 is a full-sized G3 style stock, with an alloy receiver end cap and polymer body, and a rubberized butt plate designed with deep texturing to ensure the stock of the rifle can be shouldered with confidence that it will not slip off the shoulder. Within the stock we can find the battery compartment of the MC51, which can be accessed by pushing the butt plate down, after which it can be lifted free of the stock body. Inside, you will find a mini-Tamiya connector to which your battery connects. For the JG103 we recommend a 7.4V 1300mAh nunchuck battery or a 9.6V NiMH block battery.
The internals of the JG T3 MC51 are in line with the other rifles in the T3 series; sporting a version 2 gearbox with full AEG compatibility, a rotary drum style HOP unit providing ease of adjustment and less likelihood of losing its setting due to vibration, and a 6.08mm inner barrel boasting full compatibility with aftermarket tight bore barrels. The T3 MC51 is perfect for anyone who wants a mid range rifle, with widespread compatibility which can achieve any objective set for it.

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
