Double Eagle M52 Sportline Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle Replica

The Double Eagle M52 follows a similar external form to the well known VSR-10 G-SPEC sniper rifle with its short "bull" type barrel for optimal manoeuvrability when moving swiftly in a woodland setting. The M52 uses its own internal system and fires at approximately 380 FPS, meaning the bolt throw is light and follow up shots are easy. This rifle is not really intended as one to be heavily upgraded and is more suitable for those who want to carry a bolt action with a bit more poke than their AEG as a secondary for counter-sniping, or for young and new players to practise their marksmanship with a rifle that handles exactly like a VSR-10. 

The M52 is constructed almost entirely from lightweight ABS polymer, which is what allows it to tip the scales at a microscopic 1.5kg, barely heavier than a Desert Eagle GBB pistol! For this reason, the M52 could be a real asset to those who like to use an assault rifle in a woodland skirmish but need something with a bit more range when the local sniper sets his sights on them. This rifle should fit comfortably in most back scabbards designed for shotguns, hint, hint!

The outer barrel of the M52 is a "bull" type outer barrel, mimicking real precision rifles with this heavier barrel profile designed to help the rifle resist heat build-up and provide greater accuracy. The stock is a standard VSR-10 style design, with a comfortable semi-pistol grip and a rubberised butt plate, with an alloy sling point at the front of the stock and one at the rear. The front of the stock also features a 20mm Picatinny rail, ideally positioned to mount a bipod to allow you to set the rifle up in a fixed position, removing the human element and getting more accurate shots downrange. 

The magazine release of the M52 can be found at the front of the stock and takes the form of a button that can be pressed in to release the mag. This button is accessible from either side of the rifle and is perfectly positioned for a quick magazine change. The magazine well and magazine appear to be similar in design to the VSR-10, but we are unable to confirm compatibility currently. The magazine is a spring loaded design, avoiding the "battle rattle" of a high cap magazine, and holds approximately 30 rounds which can be loaded with the included speed loader. We recommend high quality 0.25G or 0.28G BBs for the M52 for the best combination of projectile speed, range and accuracy. 

The M52 also features an adjustable HOP-up unit, allowing you to set the rifle up for the weight of ammo you are using and get the longest range possible. The HOP-up is adjusted via a slider-style tab, found on the left side of the stock, between the outer barrel and the stock itself. The slider can be moved rearwards to increase the backspin applied to your BBs, and foreward to reduce the HOP-up effect. This device allows you to tune the rifle for the flattest flight path with your chosen BB weight, and is conveniently positioned on the outside of the rifle for quick adjustments on the fly. The HOP-up slider's functions are helpfully indicated on the side of the stock in embossed text, reading "NORMAL <--" and "HOP -->", also indicating the direction you need to move the slider to apply the adjustment. 

The bolt handle of the M52 is a low profile design, intended to minimise the chances of it getting snagged on your gear as you move, and to prevent the handle from hitting a scope mounted on the receiver rail. The handle is made from alloy, to provide additional strength where it is needed. On the right side of the bolt handle we can find the safety catch, which conveniently sits beneath the shooter's thumb for fast access whilst requiring only the bare minimum of movement to actuate, reducing the chances of your movements catching the eye of the enemy. The upper surface of the safety is textured to ensure it can still be used quickly and easily in bad weather. 

So, for those looking for a rifle to teach ol'snipey of the local site a lesson without having to leave their AEG at the safe zone, or for those after a rifle that they can use to teach young ones the ropes, and prepare them for the skirmish field, the M52 from Double Eagle would be an excellent choice. The light bolt pull of this rifle combined with its bolt action design makes it a superb tool for teaching aspiring young Airsofters marksmanship, safety and responsibility as a warm up for skirmishing, or as a training tool for moving up to Air rifle shooting for those who are a bit young to use a .177 or .22.
