Description
If you love the feel of steel, the CYMA CM.039C AK-47 Tactical AEG Rifle will give you what you need! This tactical AK has a full metal construction and boasts a much more realistic weight when compared to polymer platforms. This rifle is based on the bare-bones AK-47 rifle but it has been dragged into the 21st century and is now equipped with plenty of 20mm attachment and accessory rails.
Starting at the tip of the barrel we can find a classic "slant" muzzle brake, intended in the real AK to counteract the jarring recoil forces of the massive AK bolt carrier by redirecting the muzzle blast. The brake may look like it is not on straight, but we assure you this is all part of the utilitarian AK design. The slant brake mounts to 14mm CCW male threads at the tip of the outer barrel and can be swapped out for a suppressor or tracer unit if you are going for more of a Spetsnaz look for your AK. We recommend a PBS-1 Suppressor if you want an authentic look!
The front sight of the CM.039C mounts directly to its outer barrel and provides an adjustable front post with protective wings to ensure an accidental bump or scrape does not render your sights useless. As part of the classic AK aesthetic, we can find a dummy cleaning rod running parallel to the outer barrel, through the front sight block and gas block. This isn't intended for cleaning an Airsoft barrel and is just for the look.
As we move rearward, we find the CM.039C dummy gas block, and gas tube, which are realistically styled after the original AK47 production variant, the Type 3. The gas tube includes mock vents and a steel sling loop mounted to the barrel on the left side which is designed for "hook" type slings.
To the rear of the gas block, we can find the polymer handguards, which are of a modern tactical style with vent holes and integrated 20mm Picatinny accessory rails. These rails allow any accessory designed for 20mm Picatinny to be attached. The top and bottom rails cover the full length of the handguard, and the side rails provide just enough space to mount a tactical flashlight or PEQ laser unit. This rifle comes preinstalled with a folding vertical foregrip, which can be used either deployed or folded and will provide much better gripping qualities than just the handguard.
Following the handguard, we come to the trunnion block which provides the mounting point for the classic AK tangent rear iron sight. The rear sight provides multiple graduations for adjustment and a fine rear sight notch to align with the front sight post. The sight itself can be adjusted by pressing the drums on either side of the sight notch and moving the notch back and forth on its base. The lever on the right side is the handguard disassembly lever and is functional, but due to the use of a railed gas tube, the Allen bolts holding the gas tube on will need to be removed before the lever comes into use.
As we reach the receiver we can find a standard AK-47/74 layout with a centrally positioned ambidextrous magazine release at the front of the trigger guard, a mock bolt carrier on the right side of the receiver and a 3-position fire selector on the right side. Sitting atop the receiver is a long section of 20mm Picatinny rail, allowing you to set this AK up with long-distance scopes rather than relying on the good old spray and pray.
To access the HOP-up unit of the CM.039C, simply hold the charging handles to the rear to reveal the slider adjustable HOP-up unit. The slider unit is known as one of the best designs out there, and that is the reason this unit has not changed in design since the original Tokyo Marui AK-47 AEG. To increase the HOP-up effect, simply move the slider rearwards. Returning the slider to the front will reduce the HOP-up to its lowest setting. HOP-up allows you to adjust the amount of backspin applied to your BBs and set this AEG up for different ammo weights, looking for the flattest possible trajectory.
The fire selector provides 3 modes of fire; safe, full auto and semi-auto, in that order. It is an AK after all! This was designed to allow for fast selection of semi-auto with a quick sweep down of the selector, and isn't actually because the AK was designed for full auto, as is the common myth. Each fire selector position also features engraved Cyrillic markings, just like a real AK rifle.
The battery compartment is beneath the top cover, and to access it, you must first pull rearwards on the rail section to release it, then fold it upwards but ensure your iron sights are lifted up so they don't interfere with one another. Then, once the rail section is out of the way, press the button at the rear of the top cover and it should come straight off, revealing a mini-Tamiya battery connector. For the CM.039C, we recommend a 7.4V 1300mAh LiPo in AK Stick configuration.
The the bottom of the receiver, we find the polymer pistol grip, which has been textured for an improved feel and a better grip. The trigger guard and magazine release can be found just ahead of the pistol grip, and are constructed from steel to provide solid magazine locking and ample rigidity. The magazine release is placed in the centre of the receiver and is accessible from either side of the AEG. A "rock and lock" retention system, the AK mag release requires you to first index the front "hook" on the magazine inside the receiver, then rock the magazine to engage the catch.
At the rear of the receiver, we come to the good old M4/AR-15 buffer tube, adding functionality to this AK platform its wood-clad cousins can only dream of. The buffer tube is constructed from alloy and provides 6 positions of adjustment for the pre-installed M4A1 "LE" stock, or any other M4/AR-15 AEG stock you choose to mount. The adjustment lever of the LE stock is on the bottom, with an alloy sling loop just behind, designed for "strap" slings.
Inside, the CYMA CM.039C AK-47 Tactical AEG Rifle is equipped with a version 3 gearbox with 18:1 steel gears, the industry standard of internal specs, built to last and provide the perfect level of performance for the average skirmisher. The CM.039C is the perfect tactical AK for the skirmish field, with plenty of rail space and a preinstalled folding foregrip, this rifle is perfect for AK enjoyers who live in the modern era!

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
