The Bolster Armouries OBIRE 2.0 is the result of the Bolster Tech team taking a walk on the wild side, deviating from the usual M4/AR-15 platform base gun to create an unconventional masterpiece using the SigAir MPX AEG as the starting point.
As with previous Bolster Armouries releases, the OBIRE 2.0 PCC is fully revamped on the inside and kitted out with the absolute best aftermarket parts in the business. The Gate TITAN MOSFET takes centre stage, acting as the “brain” of the platform and allowing for unprecedented customisation options, exceptional electrical efficiency and Bluetooth control directly from your phone or mobile device via the Gate Control Station App and Blulink (available separately).
The TITAN is backed up by Laylax, FPS Softair, Lonex, Gate, Pro-Win and Maple Leaf internal parts with the positively epic Warhead Industries 27K Base Brushless Motor providing the torque and speed the OBIRE 2.0 needs to stay way ahead of its rivals in-game.
A new addition to the Bolster Armouries formula, the Laylax 13:1 Hardened Steel Gearset is fitted, improving mechanical efficiency with a lower gear ratio which translates to less wear and tear on the motor, less current draw from the battery and a higher rate of fire than ever before.
As we might expect, the Bolster Armouries team were not content with simply perfecting the base MPX platform; the externals have been given a full style up to mimic real steel 3-Gun rifles, adding the Task Force MPX Carbine kit with an extended M-LOK handguard and outer barrel, AR buffer tube adapter, flared magazine well and magazine baseplate extension.
This truly transforms the overall vibe of the MPX, moving it away from the platform’s Military/Law Enforcement roots and giving it a new life as a lightning-fast competition-style carbine with remarkable long range performance and super slick handling.
For a platform with a 16-inch handguard and barrel, the OBIRE 2.0 weighs practically nothing; tipping the scales at a minuscule 2.8 KG, adding a mere 300g to the overall weight of the original MPX despite the massive size disparity. While it may be slightly longer than the average M4, the OBIRE 2.0 can be swept between targets at incredible speed and really is a true joy to handle, whether you run it in CQB, outdoors or at a competition shoot.
If the mass-produced guns from other manufacturers are the equivalent of a Ford, a Bolster Armouries AEG is a Rolls Royce; crafted with care, to perfection, with the highest quality parts available and a distinctive external look leaving onlookers in no doubt that this is a Bolster Armouries AEG.
Bolster Armouries OBIRE 2.0 Advanced MPX AEG
The base platform for the Bolster Armouries OBIRE 2.0 PCC is the SigAir MPX SMG paired with the Task Force MPX Carbine Kit, giving you the very best in external quality with detailed SIG trademarks fully licenced via SigAir. The receiver, gearbox shell and controls from the MPX remain, but everything else has been stripped away and replaced with the finest aftermarket upgrades available, installed by some of the most talented and dedicated techs in the Airsoft industry.
With the Task Force kit installed, the squat MPX SMG is transformed into an elegant 3-Gun style competition carbine with an extended handguard and barrel along with a flared magazine well extension and the much loved and ever-familiar M4/AR-15 buffer tube. While the original form of the MPX was designed to fit into your back pocket, the OBIRE 2.0 MPX makes no compromises when it comes to handling; designed with pure ergonomics in mind to extract the very best shooting performance from whoever is fortunate enough to get their hands on one!
The handguard itself is constructed from CNC machined aluminium and finished with a carbon fibre effect; perfectly marrying the strength of CNC aluminium with the sporty, high speed looks of carbon fibre. While a real carbon fibre handguard would be a nice touch, there is potential that in a skirmishing environment, it may take a bump or scrape, which could result in cracks developing. Being CNC aluminium makes this handguard tough enough to meet the Bolster standard and means you don’t have to baby the OBIRE 2.0 to maintain its gorgeous looks.
With M-LOK negative space attachment slots at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions along the full-length 16-inch handguard, you will never be short of space for accessories on the OBIRE 2.0 and have plenty of space to find your optimal gripping position without having to work around any accessories you have mounted.
Additional M-LOK slots are available at the lowermost offset angles so you can further enhance the OBIRE 2.0’s handling by adding rail covers or grip tape in classic 3-Gun style, and the upper offset angles have stylish weight-reducing ports which perfectly match those of the MPX receiver, providing the complete and integral look of a professionally customised rifle.
The shape and profile of this handguard make the OBIRE 2.0 incredibly intuitive and natural to point, acting almost as an extension of your body and allowing you to sweep between multiple targets at incredible speed. Being CNC machined and weight reduced, the handguard is light enough that it doesn’t upset the balance of the platform, resulting in a tenacious rifle which almost steers itself, leading you room to room with vengeful aggression.
The OBIRE 2.0’s battery compartment is located up front, inside the handguard, and is accessible with the handguard removed. To install the battery you will need to push the front receiver pin out slightly, after which the handguard can be removed towards the front. The receiver pin is captive and will not fall out, but only needs to be pulled around half of the way out to clear the handguard retainer block and allow the handguard to be removed. If you find you receiver pin is tight, we recommend using a plastic tool (BIC pens work great) to push it through to avoid damage.
Beneath the handguard, you will find a Deans/T-plug battery connector to which you mount the included NUPROL 11.1V 1450mAh 30C LiPo battery. While there is plenty of room inside the handguard for different battery types, the Bolster Tech Team recommends that you stick to the same C rating, voltage and capacity as the supplied battery for the best performance with this particular setup. We found the best spot to fit the battery is above the barrel, as close to the receiver as possible
The receiver of the base MPX is constructed from aluminium and finished with CNC machining, giving it crisp, sharp details and a flawless shape, matching the real MPX perfectly. Licensed SIG SAUER USA trademarks can be found on the left side of the magazine well in the usual spot; taking the form of the iconic SIG roundel logo seen on many modern Sig platforms, with “SIG MPX” and “MULTI-CAL” just below.
The flared magazine well extension mounts around the receiver, constructed from CNC machined aluminium to keep added weight to an absolute minimum. Designed to provide competition shooters with a valuable reload assistance device which helps guide the magazine into the magwell, flared magwell extensions are finding their way onto more and more combat-optimised platforms and are a great way to reduce your reload times, whether under the scrutiny of a shot timer or in the heat of a firefight.
The receiver itself is also equipped with a 20mm Picatinny rail on its upper surface, giving you a slightly longer receiver rail than an AR platform with extra space for mounting red dot sight and magnifier combos and even larger LPVO optics. Paired with the extended handguard, the receiver rail provides the “step down” look and allows a DBAL or PEQ laser unit to be mounted on the rail and stay clear of any accessories mounted to the 12 o’clock M-LOK slots while avoiding producing a shadow if you make use of the “thumb over bore” grip.
When it comes to the controls, the base MPX platform is already very well equipped. The fire selector switch mimics that of the M4/AR-15 platform but is mirrored on either side; perfect for left or right-handed shooters and those who use of shoulder-to-shoulder transitions to make the best use of cover. Being enlarged and equipped with additional texture on its contact surfaces, the MPX selector switch gives you plenty of grip for wet weather use and is fast to actuate, even when wearing full-finger gloves.
The magazine release is also ambidextrous, located on either side of the magazine well and easily within reach of your trigger finger when the OBIRE 2.0 is held in a firing grip. Surrounding each of the magazine release buttons is what is known as a “magazine release fence”, preventing the mag release from being accidentally pressed, as any properly designed magazine release button should have.
Also on either side of the receiver is the mock bolt release catch; taking the form of the M4/AR-15 style ping pong paddle on the left side and a button just above the mag release on the right side. This control allows you to return the mock bolt to battery following HOP-up adjustment and is also really fun to play with, letting you enjoy a little hint of realism by racking the charging handle and sending the mock bolt home with an oh-so-satisfying clank.
As we might expect, the charging handle follows the familiar M4/AR-15 format but is ambidextrous, offering a latch on either side so the handle can be pulled with a single finger from either side. Each latch is also extended to make it easy to find when working in low light or while your eyes are busy doing more important things and the surfaces are also serrated to provide optimal wet-weather gripping qualities.
Pulling the charging handle back will open the mock dust cover on the right side and lock the mock bolt back, revealing the Pro-Win rotary adjustable HOP-up unit. If you are curious about what the Bolster Team has done with the HOP-up components, you can read all about it in the “Internal Enhancements” section below.
The original Sig Sauer pistol grip, while a decent design, has been changed up for the gold standard in Airsoft AEG grips; the PTS EPS enhanced pistol grip. This grip is constructed from extremely strong Dupont Zytel polymer, giving it a rock solid feel and perfect comfort for a wide variety of hand shapes and sizes. The EPS is set at a more traditional angle than the Sig MPX grip, meaning cleaner, more efficient motor meshing and reduced wear on the bevel and pinion gears.
At the rear of the receiver, we are treated to the most modern stock attachment interface around. The 1913/20mm Picatinny interface originates on the Sig MCX and MPX platforms and is rapidly appearing on almost every other platform, offering a plethora of specialised stock options for the OBIRE 2.0, including the M4/AR-15 buffer tube adapter chosen for this build.
The 1913/20mm interface offers numerous advantages over a fixed M4/AR-15 buffer tube, including the ability to remove the stock assembly in seconds using an Allen key and either swap it for an alternative or allow the OBIRE 2.0 to be stored in smaller gun cases to save space.
The 1913/20mm interface can also do things the normal fixed buffer tube cannot, allowing side folding stocks or specialised visor stocks to be mounted, allowing for intuitive aiming even when wearing a full face mask, riot helmet or respirator. While the included M4/AR-15 buffer tube is the perfect choice for the OBIRE 2.0 in its current configuration, you will never find yourself limited in customisation options with access to both 1913/20mm stocks and M4/AR-15 stocks!
Task Force MPX Carbine Kit
The Task Force MPX Carbine Kit is what makes this MPX such a mould-breaker on the outside; adding a 16-inch M-LOK handguard, 16-inch outer barrel, M4/AR-15 buffer tube adapter, muzzle brake and flared magazine well extension to the OBIRE 2.0 to give it the ever-popular 3-Gun style aesthetic.
The Handguard
The 16-inch handguard is equipped with M-LOK negative space attachment slots at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions, allowing M-LOK accessories to be directly mounted for a slick and modern setup. Additional M-LOK slots are available at the lowermost offset angles, with weight-reducing ports at the offset angles above matching those of the MPX receiver, giving the whole OBIRE 2.0 the look and feel of a completed piece as opposed to an amalgamation of aftermarket parts.
M-LOK also allows 20mm Picatinny accessories to be used with 20mm rail adapters, meaning if your preferred grip is only available in 20mm or your favourite flashlight requires a 20mm rail to mount, you will not be held back by the ultra-modern attachment interface of the OBIRE 2.0.
The advantage of a longer handguard is that the rifle will be easier to point and sweep rapidly between targets using modern shooting stances and you have extra space to mount your attachments in a spot which suits you without making everything cramped.
The handguard is constructed from CNC machined aluminium and finished with a faux carbon fibre coating, deviating slightly from the real rifle to add the appropriate strength needed for a long lifespan under the rigours of Airsoft skirmishing.
Real carbon fibre may be lighter than CNC aluminium, but if you accidentally hit a piece of cover there is potential that it will splinter and crack. The marriage of CNC machined aluminium with the styling of carbon fibre gives you the high speed 3-Gun aesthetic while immunising the rifle from the knocks, bumps and scrapes that come with combat use. The Bolster Armouries OBIRE 2.0 is a gorgeous piece and would look fantastic on the wall, but it is designed for skirmishing and is equipped to take the hard knocks that come with it.
The Barrel & Muzzle Device
Being smooth in profile with a CNC machined aluminium muzzle brake mounted at the tip, the 16-inch outer barrel transforms the original MPX platform to suit the 3-Gun styling of the OBIRE 2.0, allowing the 407mm Laylax Prometheus 6.03mm tightbore to be installed inside; a far longer inner barrel than the standard version, intended to enhance long range effectiveness.
The muzzle brake can be swapped out for any alternative 14mm CCW-compatible flash hider, tracer unit or suppressor should you see fit. Naturally, a muzzle brake is the perfect device for a 3-Gun build and looks fantastic with its menacing, multi-port design but we know Airsofters value the ability to mount a tracer for CQB or a suppressor for sneaky stuff. If we encounter a OBIRE 2.0 in the wild without its muzzle brake, we promise we won’t get offended!
The Flared Magazine Well Extension
A flared magazine well extension is a great way to speed up your reloads whether you are in the heat of an Airsoft skirmish or trying to shave a few seconds off that personal best when shooting against the clock.
This part fits around the existing MPX magazine well, giving you a wider opening to insert your mag with a bevelled inner surface to guide it home. This eliminates the possibility of missing the magazine well when working under pressure, meaning less mid-firefight fumbling and more time spent shooting!
Constructed from CNC machined aluminium with a flawless matt black anodised finish applied, the flared magwell fits in nicely with the 3-Gun style aesthetic of the OBIRE 2.0 and is a serious game changer when it comes to handling.
The flared magazine well extension can also be handy as an additional gripping surface when shooting in unconventional positions where gripping the handguard may put your arm in the line of fire, allowing you to use cover more effectively in close-quarters environments.
Allowing for far faster reloads than without and enhancing your ability to carry out “eyes up” reloads while you scan the environment for your next target, flared magazine wells are becoming commonplace, not just in competition builds but in combat-style builds as well. The flared magazine well will save you hours and hours practising your reloads, and if you already put that time in, you will be faster than ever before!
The Buffer Tube adapter
Mounted to the 1913/20mm Picatinny interface at the rear of the OBIRE MPX, we have an M4/AR-15 buffer tube adapter, giving you access to the widest stock aftermarket in existence. As with most of the Task Force kit, the buffer tube adapter is constructed from CNC machined aluminium and finished in matt black, giving the OBIRE 2.0 a custom touch without stealing the thunder of the carbon fibre style handguard.
M4/AR-15 Stock options are as prolific as stars in the night sky, so if you have a preferred option to maintain commonality with your other platforms or you think a certain stock suits the OBIRE 2.0 more than the genuine MFT Battlelink stock chosen by the Bolster Team, you can switch it out in seconds without needing any tools.
The buffer tube provides 6 positions of adjustment, allowing you to set the length of pull to perfectly fit your arm length, shooting stance and loadout. Adjustments are carried out using the adjustment lever on the NURPOL A.X.E stock; holding it down will allow you to slide the stock out to your chosen length and releasing it will lock the stock in position.
As this buffer tube is not permanently attached to the receiver, it can be removed and swapped out for any 1913/20mm Picatinny interface compatible stock, including lightweight low-profile side folding stocks, stocks designed for shooting with a visor or respirator and any of the many other options available for this up and coming stock mounting interface.
PTS Synidicate EPG Pistol Grip - Dupont Zytel Thermoplastic
The original SigAir pistol grip has been replaced with the advanced EPG Pistol grip from PTS Syndicate, offering a highly supportive design with a curved extension to help you maintain a comfortable hold and protect the web of your hand whilst manipulating the OBIRE 2.0 platform. The EPG is constructed from Dupont Zytel, a high-strength, abrasion and impact-resistant thermoplastic polyamide/nylon, making it a significant step up from other high density polymers, even beating out the original SigAir pistol grip.
With comfortable dot texturing on either side and crackle texture on the front strap and backstrap, the EPG is the perfect enhancement to ensure you maintain a positive grip on the OBIRE 2.0 in any weather condition, even when wearing thick gloves. The EPG follows a very similar profile to the popular Magpul MIAD and MOE grips for real AR-15s, both of which have an excellent reputation for providing a comfortable grip which suits a wide variety of hand shapes and sizes.
Genuine Mission First Tactical Battlelink Minimalist AR-15 Stock - Milspec
The MFT Battlelink is the lightest AR-15 stock in its class, boasting conventional sling slots, an ambidextrous QD sling socket, a low profile adjustment lever and a curved rubber butt plate designed to permit fast target presentation, even when wearing body armour or a plate carrier.
With a reduced profile at the front which widens at the rear to form a sloped cheekpiece, the MFT Battlelink enhances shooter comfort while keeping weight and bulk to a minimum, tipping the scales at a mere 165g. Its centrally mounted QD sling socket is not rotation-limited, permitting ambidextrous operation and allowing skilled shooters to make use of shoulder-to-shoulder transitions without their sling getting in the way.
Additional sling mounting apparatus is also present in the form of a pair of conventional sling slots, also known as “Footman Loops”. The Footman Loops are designed to fit slings of up to 1.25” in width, offering the same positions found on the original CAR-15 stock and the B5 SOPMOD stock (aka the “Crane” stock) for those who prefer a more traditional sling setup. Also present are a port at the front and a port at the toe of the stock, designed to allow a woven paracord bulwark to be fitted which further protects the adjustment lever from accidental actuation without restricting access to the underside QD sling socket.
The angled, serrated and rubberised butt plate gives the MFT Battlelink flawless functionality when used with a plate carrier, locking the stock into your shoulder and providing maximum contact area and traction thanks to the use of a “rolled toe”. The rolled toe is the additional angled section at the toe of the stock and allows for enhanced control over the swift OBIRE 2.0 no matter what load-bearing or protective equipment you choose to wear.
Constructed from military-grade reinforced polyamide, the MFT Battlelink is made in the USA and has been seen on the primary weapons of various US Special Forces outfits along with our very own UKSF, giving its design the utmost credibility and a recognisable shape that Milsim skirmishers will instantly recognise.
Internal Enhancements
The internal parts present in the Bolster Armouries OBIRE 2.0 are hand-selected for the high quality materials used in their construction, as well as for their exceptional performance. Each Bolster Armouries Gearbox is hand built, with each gear being perfectly shimmed for smooth operation, and the piston position being corrected for the perfect Angle of engagement (AOE) to provide maximum efficiency and longevity.
This gearbox is matched with one of the most well-regarded steel tightbore inner barrels out there, renowned for its rigidity and high quality internal finish, coupled with the precision machined Pro-Win rotary HOP-up unit and a Prometheus purple HOP rubber which is based on the original Marui design but is comprised of longer lasting materials. Laylax/Prometheus 6.03mm EG Inner Barrel - 407mm - Stainless Steel

The Prometheus 6.03mm EG inner barrel is constructed from SUS 304 stainless steel (also known as SS304 or AISI304), with a chromium content of between 18% and 20% and nickel content between 8% and 10.5%. This choice of material not only gives the inner barrel exceptional rigidity, but has higher corrosion resistance than other stainless steels, aluminium, or brass used in other inner barrels.
This inner barrel was chosen primarily for its reputation as one of the best AEG upgrades money can buy, but also for its precise dimensional tolerances which are guaranteed to be within 1/100th of a millimetre of the manufacturer's specs. This means we can confidently say your Bolster Armouries AEG will shoot straight and true, as long as you do your part! This part also serves as a great way to increase the FPS of an AEG by a small amount without adding additional strain to the gearbox, simply by using the compressed air provided by the piston more efficiently.

The Maple Leaf OMEGA HOP-up nub is intended to be a mass-produced alternative to the home-brewed R-HOP and flat HOP modifications of yesteryear. This provides the kind of performance you would expect from a very well made flat HOP modification, but with no chance of potential jams and considerably less likelihood of failure due to its single piece design.
The OMEGA nub has a concave contact surface, shaped to match that of a 6mm BB perfectly, providing HOP effect across the entire upper surface of the BB, instead of just a single point in the centre. This provides excellent side-to-side stability and an increased HOP effect, extending the range of the AEG into the borderline implausible!

This precisely machined unit provides unparalleled air seal, adding to the already vastly improved efficiency of the platform. When coupled with the Prometheus Purple HOP bucking, this unit improves FPS without adding more strain to the gearbox; a fundamental goal throughout the Bolster Armouries AEG project.
Laylax EG Hardened Steel 13:1 High Speed Gear Set - Heat Treated Japanese Steel

The EG Hard Gear Set from Laylax is constructed from hardened steel and is a high speed gearset intended to considerably increase rate of fire of any AEG into the realms of the extreme. These gears are leaps and bounds ahead of the original VFC/SigAir Gears in strength, making them a worthwhile inclusion for long-term reliability under the extreme performance parameters set by the Bolster Armouries team.
These gears are tuned to a 13:1 ratio, which means for every 13 revolutions of your motor the gearbox will complete one full cycle. The standard gear ratio for Airsoft AEGs is 18:1, meaning the Laylax High Speed set will give the OBIRE a far higher rate of fire than its rivals and allow the potential of the astonishingly fast Warhead Motor to really shine through.
The set includes a spur gear, sector gear, and bevel gear which are all precisely machined and shimmed to perfection by the Bolster team for flawless meshing and smooth, reliable performance. Laylax, also known as "Prometheus" or "First Factory" has been a household name in the area of AEG upgrade parts for over a decade now, and many experienced techs rely on Laylax parts to keep their high performance builds running in the long term.

Gate Protector Cylinder head - CNC Machined Aluminium

The Gate Protector CNC aluminium cylinder head is another new entrant into Bolster Armouries builds, making its debut in the ATLAS LMG. Constructed from CNC machined aircraft grade aluminium to an extremely high degree of precision, the Protector is designed to ensure the nozzle aligns perfectly with the nozzle guide on the cylinder head itself to prevent feeding and FPS fluctuation issues due to what is known as “mid-cap syndrome”.
The Protector is also fitted with a shock absorbing rubber bumper which functions the same way as the AirLab Sorbothane pad used in previous Bolster builds, reducing wear and stress on the gearbox shell and limiting wear on the piston head. To ensure we get the air seal qualities we should with a precise CNC machined part, the Protector also has a dual O-ring configuration around its circumference to completely close the gap between the cylinder and cylinder head.
Gate Power CNC Aluminium Hybrid Piston Head - CNC Machined Aluminium

As with the ‘Protector’ cylinder head, the Gate Power Hybrid Piston Head is constructed from aircraft-grade aluminium using CNC machining technology to provide the tight tolerances necessary for a perfect fit between the cylinder walls and piston head and flawless air seal qualities.
The Power piston head features a pair of O-rings to completely seal any gap between the cylinder and the piston head itself, completely eliminating air leaks to ensure that all the compressed air generated by the gearbox is translated into effect downrange. Supplied with an AOE correcting spacer as well as special weight pads which allow for tuning for optimal performance with various weights of ammo, as you will receive it, the Power piston head is configured perfectly for the OBIRE PCC internal setup and the G&G Armament 0.28g BBs the Bolster Armouries team recommend.
FPS Softair STEEL CYLINDER TYPE “D” - CNC Machined Steel

FPS Softair parts are manufactured in Italy by Airsofters who share the Bolster Team’s passion for high performance and superlative quality Airsoft upgrades. The FPS Cylinder chosen for the OBIRE PCC is the Type D model, providing the perfect air volume for the Prometheus 407mm 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel, meaning no power is lost through “suck back” and a flawlessly efficient air seal system.
The FPS Steel Cylinder is ribbed on its exterior, but not for her pleasure! The role of these ribs is to more effectively seal the walls of the cylinder with those of the gearbox shell to prevent any air from leaking out. The inside of the cylinder is polished to a near-mirror finish, meaning minimal friction and minimal energy lost as the piston reciprocates back and forth.
Having a high quality cylinder installed is another way the Bolster Armouries gearbox maximizes efficiency, squeezing every last bit of usable air from each piston cycle, giving you higher FPS without adding strain to the gearbox.

The FPS Softair Carbon Fibre reinforced tappet plate is a new part featuring in Bolster Armouries builds, chosen based on the superb quality and high performance bar set by other FPS parts. Ideal for a precise build which requires perfect nozzle alignment, the tappet plate is constructed from carbon fibre reinforced nylon polymer which has the perfect amount of rigidity and flex without being vulnerable to sudden fractures under heavy load as a conventional polycarbonate tappet might.

CYMA’s Platinum series piston has been highlighted by the Bolster team as a strong piston which perfectly combines the low weight of its polycarbonate piston body with a set of high strength steel teeth. This ensures the Laylax hardened steel gearset and Warhead Brushless Motor do not cause undue wear on this high-stress part and that power and cyclic rate are not reduced as a result of an overweight piston.
As installed in the Bolster Tuned AEG series, the CYMA piston has proven itself to be very strong and absolutely up to the task of providing a long lifespan at a high bar of performance, at least the equal of the SHS Piston used in previous Bolster builds.
Bolster Armouries M115 Spring - Ferrosilicochrome with Zinc coating
Reduces strain on the gearbox internals - Corrosion Resistant - Click for more info
The Bolster Armouries M115 spring is constructed from SiCr Alloy (also known as Ferrosilicochrome), with a zinc coating to discourage corrosion. This Alloy is well known for its use in manufacturing springs for the automotive industry and many others requiring static torsion loaded springs with high corrosion resistance.
The spring is a non-linear design, reducing strain on the gearbox by varying the coil tension over the course of compressing the spring. This means the spring design takes advantage of the points in the cycle of the AEG where the piston is in the best position to handle the high strain, such as the midpoint, whilst reducing the initial load on the piston teeth.
This M115 spring has closed and flattened ends which reduce wear on the piston, and minimize the chance of it failing. The Bolster Team had these springs made this way in order to reduce the strain on the internal components in the high speed Bolster gearbox while providing the necessary velocity, and its design which provides optimal performance with a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel.
Lonex Anti-Reversal Latch - Hardened Steel

With high strength gears comes the need for a stronger anti-reversal latch to cope with the added strain, especially in such a high rate of fire build. The Lonex Anti-Reversal Latch is constructed from hardened steel and is plenty strong enough to keep those super speedy 13:1 Laylax gears in check.
The ARL is designed to prevent the gears inside the gearbox from reversing when power to the AEG is cut part way through a cycle. This almost definitely will not happen in the OBIRE due to the presence of the Gate TITAN MOSFET with its cycle control but a stronger ARL is nonetheless necessary to ensure failures are limited in a worst-case scenario. While the OBIRE has its TITAN set up for optimal performance and the Bolster Tech Team does not recommend altering these, if you or a future owner chooses to, the OBIRE is ready to handle the strain.
Bolster Armouries EZO Bearings - Heat Treated Japanese Steel

Bolster Armouries EZO Ball-Bearing Bushings are designed and manufactured by Sapparo Precision Inc. in Japan and have been chosen by the Bolster team thanks to their extremely low friction, high-quality steel construction and fantastic reputation in a wide range of industries.
Specialists in medium and miniature ball bearings, Sapporo Precision bearings have a wide range of applications; in this case, reducing friction and extending the lifespan of the finely tuned Bolster Armouries OBIRE. These bearings allow the Laylax 13:1 High Speed gears to spin freely at the tremendous rate provided by the Warhead Brushless Motor with minimal chances of failure, all while reducing stress on the gearbox shell and gear axles.
Laylax Ball Bearing Spring Guide for MPX - Hardened Steel

The Laylax Ball Bearing Spring Guide is designed to reduce stress on the MPX gearbox shell and spring while prolonging the life of your internals when operating in a high-strain setup like the OBIRE.
The spring guide is constructed from steel, improving strength considerably when compared to the standard MPX spring guide which is constructed from alloy. The ball bearings in its base allow the guide to spin freely and redirect any stress on the gearbox shell and the spring itself, meaning less chance of the gearbox shell cracking in the long run and a longer lifespan for the main spring.
As with the standard alloy MPX spring guide, the Laylax Ball Bearing spring guide has quick change spring functionality, meaning you can quickly tune the power of the MPX using a 6mm Allen/hex key without removing the gearbox from the receiver or opening the gearbox shell.

Gate Electronics is well known amongst Airsofters for providing some of the best MOSFETs the Airsoft industry has to offer. These include the basic X-ASR which provides battery protection, the ASTER which adds GATE Control station App functionality, and the Gate's flagship option, the TITAN. The TITAN takes the already well equipped Bolster Armouries OBIRE and transforms it from an extremely well tuned AEG into the realms of an advanced training weapon.
The TITAN provides a plethora of functions, including trigger travel adjustment, pre-cocking, Burst mode, Binary trigger, and adaptive active braking. A total of 8 optical sensors within the TITAN are used to track the movement of the gears, piston, and trigger to ensure the gears complete a full cycle with each trigger pull and the gears stop exactly where they should. The TITAN MOSFETs installed in the Bolster Armouries OBIRE are pre-setup with the optimal settings for the platform and provide instantaneous trigger response and premium level functionality, including protection against over-discharge of your battery, short-circuits, and overheating.
Unlike other advanced MOSFETs, the TITAN has remarkably low power consumption and includes a "sleep mode" which activates when the ONYX has not been fired for some time. This protects your battery in the event that you forget to disconnect it after a skirmish, whilst other MOSFETs may drain the battery entirely over time, rendering the battery useless.
The settings programmed into the TITAN MOSFET by the Bolster Armouries tech team have been selected to provide the absolute optimum settings for the OBIRE platform. The pre-set configuration includes pre-cocking set to medium speed for the best balance between prolonging the lifespan of the internals and providing the highly responsive trigger pre-cocking setups are known for.
Warhead Industries Base Brushless Motor 27k RPM - Aluminium housing - SH Rated Magnets

The motor is perhaps the most important part when it comes to providing extreme levels of performance in an Airsoft AEG, though with a faster motor comes the need to upgrade other internal components to prevent premature failure. In a home build, this often results in an "arms race" of parts so to speak, as whenever a part is upgraded it will require another part to be upgraded to prevent damage and maximize the AEG's potential.
Known for innovation and pushing the limits of Airsoft performance, Warhead Industries provides the best Airsoft motor around; utilizing the most up-to-date technology to provide a previously unheard of torque to weight ratio, and impressive heat dispersion.
The original Warhead CNC Black Brushless Motor of previous Bolster builds has been exchanged for the Warhead Base Brushless Motor in this build, keeping the costs within the Bolster Armouries brief while not compromising on performance thanks to its pairing with the Laylax 13:1 high-speed gear set.
While the 27K RPM of this motor is slightly less than that of the full-fat CNC 36K Black motor used in the Bolster Armouries ONYX, ARKOSE and ATLAS platforms, the OBIRE is actually slightly faster when it comes to rate of fire thanks to its high speed gears!
The Warhead Base uses a machine wound stator instead of the hand-wound stator used in the CNC Black motor, reducing production costs while maintaining high standards and beating out any other brushless motor on the market, with the exception of the Warhead CNC Black motor.
The magnets used in the Warhead Base are still of the highest quality and provide exceptional trigger response and speed. Being SH-rated, the magnets in the Base are still capable of operating at extremely high temperatures and have incredible torque capability, albeit slightly less than the far more expensive CNC Black.
Magnets rated SH are Neodymium magnets specifically manufactured to withstand demagnetisation forces like extreme heat or magnetic pulses, meaning you can run the Warhead Base all day long without worry, letting off long bursts and acting almost as an LMG gunner, as you can with the Warhead CNC Black motor.
Conventional brushed motors suffer immensely from heat build-up when operated for more than 30 seconds continuously, due to the high internal friction generated. In a brushless motor, the main source of heat build-up is simply friction with the air which can be kept at a manageable level for far longer.
Like the original CNC Black version, the Warhead Base motor also includes an Electronic Speed Control (ESC) module, which is hidden beneath an aluminium cover at the base of the motor. This circuit controls and regulates the speed of the motor while providing low voltage cut-off and over-current-draw protection, providing an additional level of safety for your high performance Bolster Armouries OBIRE AEG.

Battery
During the R&D process, the Bolster Armouries techs found that the OBIRE 2.0 platform performs at its peak when using 11.1V 30C LiPo batteries. The use of a battery with a lower discharge rate (C rating) may cause FPS fluctuation issues and a drop in performance, and this is not considered a fault under the Bolster Armouries warranty. Please carefully consider which battery you use in the OBIRE 2.0; with this level of internal precision and with a 27K motor and a TITAN MOSFET installed the AEG will require a very specific battery setup to perform at its best.

These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
