Airsoft Brands: Who is G&G Armament?
About G&G Armament
Guay Guay Trading Co. Ltd. (G&G ARMAMENT) was established in Taipei, Taiwan in 1986, beginning life as a dealer of Airsoft Guns and military equipment for Airsoft skirmishing.
G&G Armament began producing their own accessories for Airsoft AEGs in 2001, starting with metal body kits and accessories for Tokyo Marui AEGs before moving on to producing their own AEGs in 2004, starting with the GR14, the first M14 replica Airsoft AEG. As a company, G&G Armament has the reputation of being a market leader in Airsoft innovation, leading the pack with the latest technology and never being afraid to try something different.
G&G has always been a great choice for players focussed on having a realistic primary weapon with predominantly metal construction, but since the advent of their Combat Machine and later CG Intermediate AEG lines they have rapidly grown to also be one of the best choices for beginners and those less concerned with realism with a greater emphasis on in-game performance.
Whether you want a full metal gun with a hefty realistic feel or a lightweight polymer skirmish dominator which is quick and easy to manoeuvre with the performance to back it up, G&G have both bases covered!
Country of Origin
G&G Armament is based in Taiwan, and that is also where their guns and accessories are manufactured. G&G have two factories in Taiwan, and its headquarters is in Shengan Township, Changhua County.
Speciality
G&G Armament specialises in Airsoft AEGs, accessories and internal parts, and has been one of the most dependable AEG manufacturers for longer than many Airsoft manufacturers have even existed. In the early years, G&G focussed on improving the realism of Tokyo Marui AEGs by offering metal body kits and later moved on to providing full AEG platforms, offering something for both realism-obsessed Milsim players and casual skirmishers alike.
In more recent years, G&G has expanded into manufacturing GBB pistols. G&G GBB pistols are all designed from the ground up and are packed with innovations which give them superb performance, particularly in cold weather and under rapid fire.
Range of Products
G&G's range is ever expanding, with over 300 different AEG models currently in production and many more to come! From the rock solid CM16 Raider most of us started our Airsoft journey with to the game-changing ARP-9 which set a new standard for close quarters skirmishes, G&G have you covered from your first Airsoft gun and beyond.
Combat Machine CM Series / Intermediate GC Series
The Combat Machine series is one of the biggest reasons that G&G AEGs are so prolific in Airsoft today. The CM series gave Airsofters something they were crying out for for many years; an affordable starter AEG with reliable, well built internals designed to last for a lifetime with very little maintenance necessary to keep them running perfectly.
Before the first Combat Machine AEGs, there were almost no options catered solely for newcomers, but since their inception, other manufacturers have played catch up and now they all want to be the new Combat Machine. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, but even with almost a decade passed since the first Combat Machine was released G&G still rules the roost when it comes to AEGs for beginners.
Not content with providing AEG assault rifles aimed at newcomers, G&G introduced their GC intermediate range, with their first Electronic Trigger Unit in 2015. These AEGs are aimed at newcomers who want something a bit more advanced and more experienced skirmishers looking for extra functionality. The G&G ETU changed the game entirely, allowing for 11.1V LiPo batteries to be used with the assurance that the AEG is programmed to handle the extra speed without prematurely damaging or wearing the internals. The ETU also allows for programmable fire controls, meaning you can set a GC series AEG up for 3 round burst using only the controls on the gun itself!
The ETU was later integrated into their more recent Combat Machine series releases, such as the legendary ARP-9, Predator series, Wild Hog and SR series, giving them absolutely insane performance for beginner-oriented platforms the likes of which other manufacturers have been chasing ever since.
GT Series Advanced AEG
The GT Advanced series is G&G's high end replica line, focused on replicating real-world platforms as closely as possible. GT Series Airsoft guns are majority metal in their external construction and are aimed at advanced skirmishers who demand a certain level of realism.
The GT series includes replicas of a many national service rifles which are often overlooked by other manufacturers, including the British L85 / SA80, the Swiss SG55x series, the Sweedish AK5 and the Taiwanese Type 91 rifle, all of which are designed to be similar in weight, balance and handling to the real rifle they replicate.
GT Series AEGs are available with the G&G ETU, and some more recent releases also include more recent generations of the ETU which allow for even more functionality, with the same rock-solid performance and reliability of the Combat Machine and GC series.
The GT series also extends to include historical replicas of iconic WWII designs such as the German Kar98K, the British Lee Enfield No.4 MK1 and of course, the American M1 Garand and M1903 Springfield. These replicas are intended to be museum tier replicas with incredible attention to detail but are also intended for skirmishing and are perfect for those who are involved in historical reenactment and WWII scenario skirmishes.
Licensed Replica line
G&G's licensed replica line takes the internals from the GT Advanced series and puts them inside a fully licenced shell complete with realistic trademarks to please collectors and sticklers for detail. These AEGs are built like tanks, boasting full metal construction with many CNC machined parts, and high density polymer used for all the plastic components.
G&G offers an FN F2000 licensed through Cyber Gun, appropriately simulating this space-age-looking bullpup with full FN Herstal trademarks. For those who prefer an M4 platform, G&G have that covered with the Knights Armament Company SR15, SR30 & SR25, and for those who want a lightening quick competition-oriented setup, G&G have the Kobalt Kinetics BAMF with its auto ejecting magazines and super slick and quick styling.
GBB Pistol/Carbine Line
In more recent years G&G has introduced a line of GBB pistols which are for the most part unique designs with an emphasis on high performance, particularly under rapid fire and cold weather conditions. GPM92 was the first of these, introduced in 2017, followed by the GTP9 and Pirahna series, and of course the SMC9, G&Gs CQB optimised GBB carbine.
All of the G&G GBB pistols released so far boast full metal construction, and their GTP-9/SMC-9 and Pirahna series are designed entirely in-house, taking the best features from a number of real world combat pistols and combining them for a unique configuration based on tried and tested technology.
G&G pistols also break the mould internally and utilise what G&G call the "whirl cylinder valve" to reduce the effects of "cooldown" and improve the rapid-fire and cold weather performance. This is one of G&G's greatest strengths; they are always looking for ways to improve legacy operating systems, and are not bound by Airsoft convention!
G&G Armament Accessories
G&G's accessory line ranges from external parts to enhance the look of your Airsoft gun to high grade internal upgrades such as tightbore inner barrels and high-speed motors. G&G actually began their Airsoft endeavour with their upgrade parts, and while they tend to focus more on pre-built AEGs their upgrades still have a glowing reception to this day.
Of particular note are G&G's tracer units which are at the cutting edge of tracer development. G&G focus on making legacy tracer designs brighter and smaller than ever before, finding their niche next to other tracer manufacturers such as Acetech but offering smaller and lighter options ideal for speedsoft style gameplay and use on pistols.
