Description
This AK is the perfect complement to any Russian military attire. The general layout of this platform is based on the AK-12, currently one of the standard issue rifles within the Russian military, but WELL PRO have added their twist. This AK variant has design features taken from both the AK-19 and AK-205 and applied to this AK-12 receiver, it is certainly unique, that's for sure. All this makes for one seriously cool-looking AEG with some nifty functions that you wouldn't expect to see on an AK-12 variant.
Starting at the tip of the 14-inch steel outer barrel we find our first AK-205 twist that this rifle possesses. This AK-12 features an AK-205 birdcage-type hybrid flash hider. This is not the usual, aggressive muzzle break you would expect to find on an AK-12 but we appreciate the refreshing inclusion of this flash hider, no accidental poking and prodding from the typical spiky muzzle break! However, if you're not a fan of this alternate muzzle attachment you can find the 14mm CCW male threading concealed beneath (don't forget to unscrew the grub screw first before attempting to remove the compensator).
The muzzle attachment is followed by a dummy bayonet lug at the bottom, it adds to the realism and keeps the gun nerds pleased. Travelling a further short distance rearward along the outer barrel brings us to the front sight/gas block of this AK-12, it is constructed from alloy and has a dummy gas adjuster at the front. The front sight post at the top is protected on either side with protective wings. This ensures that if you drop this replica rifle it may bear some cosmetic damage, but the front sight should remain usable and intact in all but the worst-case scenario.
The gas block connects to the dummy gas tube, which is also constructed from alloy. Below the gas tube, there is a single sling point which is mounted around the barrel but can swivel either side to reduce the chances of the sling getting tangled and allowing both left and right-handed shooters to sling this AK easily. This is a nice feature as AK platforms are usually constructed without left-hand shooters in mind, so it's good to see that the AK-12 features some sort of functionality for those lesser-spotted left-hand shooters.
Following the gas tube back leads us to the high-density polymer handguards of the AK-12, which have integral 20mm Picatinny rails at the 6 and 12 o'clock positions and adjustable alloy side rails at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions, these side rails can be moved along the handguard or removed completely. Though this rifle may be Russian in origin, it can be kitted out to the nines like an MK18, with plenty of room for tactical flashlights, PEQ lasers and anything else you can think of mounting. This is a nice deviation from the standard AK rail space we are used to, A.K.A, have fun trying to find any room to mount attachments!
Moving rearwards once more, we come to the receiver. This follows the standard AK design format in a way but has some notable discrepancies. Firstly, the fire selector is ambidextrous and can be used without removing your hand from the pistol grip, this replicates the one found on the real steel AK-205. It has similarities to a standard M4 fire selector except, when the AEG is taken out of safe, the steel dust cover is lowered. This would allow for the bolt carrier to fully retract on a real firearm but serves purely aesthetic purposes on this Airsoft replica. Safe, semi-auto and full auto are available straight out of the box, but these fire modes can be alternated with burst and binary trigger modes using the preinstalled optical MOSFET.
The receiver top cover design is another area of this AK-12 that diverts from the original design, it is based more on the AK-19 top cover. It is constructed from polymer and has a 20mm Picatinny rail on the upper surface to allow for optical sights to be mounted using far more user-friendly Western mounting solutions. Unlike some other AKs with railed top covers, this top cover can be fully detached to access the battery compartment. Pulling the steel pin located on the trunnion block unlocks the top cover from which you can slide it backwards and then remove it.
The battery compartment of the AK-12 is within the top cover and is ideally sized to fit AK long stick batteries, but can also house slimmer 7.4V 1300 mAh stick batteries designed for M4/AR-15 buffer tubes. It has a Deans style battery connector and we recommend a 7.4v 1200mAh LiPo Slim Stick Battery. When reinstalling the top cover you must ensure no wires get trapped, and that you align the pin hole in the front of the top cover with the holes in the trunnion block before pushing the steel pin back through. The top cover needs to be slid onto the receiver from the rear to connect with the two hooks at the rear of the lower receiver to hold it securely in place.
The AK-19 pistol grip is a slight ergonomic improvement over the legacy AK grip, offering textured detailing on all flanks of the grip. The grip is set at an angle that provides a comfortable wrist position when shooting with the stock collapsed fully and in other more modern shooting stances. AKs are not usually associated with comfort or ergonomics, so this is certainly a surprising but positive adjustment for us sensitive Westerners!
Installed on this version of the AK-12, we are treated to the AK-205 pattern of stock, a modern Russian design which follows the format of SCAR, ACR and other modern stocks, with the addition of an adjustable cheek rest to provide the perfect eye level when using a scope or sight with this AEG. Like the AK-74M stock, the AK-19 stock offers side folding functionality, allowing this AK-12 variant to fit into smaller gun bags and be transported with ease. At the base of the stock on both sides, we are treated to QD sling socket inserts constructed from steel, allowing for a slick modern QD sling setup to be mounted using QD sling swivels if you so choose.
The stock also offers length of pull adjustment via the lever at the toe of the stock, giving you 7 positions to choose from to compensate for bulky body armour vests or different body types. The butt plate is constructed from grippy rubber with an aggressively grooved surface, guaranteeing the stock won't slip off your shoulder during wet weather operations.
The stock folds similarly to a legacy AK-74 platform, making use of a push button on the left side of the receiver, just above the pistol grip. Pressing this button will defeat the locking mechanism and allow the stock to be folded to the side. To deploy the stock again, simply pull downwards on the metal tab that protrudes from the folding mechanism at the rear and the stock can be extended back into position. This stock is a lot easier to handle than an AK-74 stock, requiring only the folding mechanism to keep things in place instead of the protruding hook used on the AK-74.
Internally, this AEG has a great part-to-price ratio. It features 18:1 steel gears mounted on 8mm ball-bearing bushings, a version 3 gearbox with quick-change springs, a rotary hop-up unit and a polymer piston with a full steel toothrack. All this is great, but the star of the show is definitely the optical MOSFET, it uses optical sensors to allow for programmable fire controls, along with further improving the trigger response and rate of fire of the platform. The ETU allows you to set a 3-round burst instead of full auto and binary trigger instead of semi-auto, allowing you to improve long-range hit probability without wasting ammo by using full auto. This paired with the 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel, makes this rifle an absolute treat to fire.
For those who like to move fast and shoot even faster, the WELL PRO WE09K AK-12 AEG Rifle w/AK-205 Stock - advanced version will be an asset to your play style. Its combination of a MOSFET and 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel is very rare to find in an affordable out-of-the-box AEG, making the WELL PRO WE09 AK-12 AEG Rifle the perfect choice for those looking for an accurate great all-around lightweight AK style AEG. Dominate your indoor skirmishes with this AK variant!

Mosfet Programming Instructions:
To enter programming mode: Hold the trigger in the semi-auto position for about 6-7 seconds with your battery connected and the magazine removed. The replica will then enter programming mode. We advise wearing eye protection and pointing the replica in a safe direction throughout this process. Folder selection: We have 3 Folders at our disposal. Which folder you are accessing will be denoted with a series of beeps: Folder 1: 1x Beep Folder 2: 2x Beep Folder 3: 3x Beep
The MOSFET will scroll between these three folders when in programming mode. To select a folder, wait for the series of beeps denoting your chosen folder, then pull and hold the trigger. Folder 1 controls the semi-auto fire selector position. The available modes are semi-automatic and binary trigger.
Folder 2 controls the full-auto fire selector position. The available modes are fully automatic and 3-round burst.
Folder 3 controls the Pre-cocking condition. The available modes are Pre-cocking off and Pre-cocking level 1. Each folder includes 2 programmable modes. Once you have entered your chosen folder, the MOSFET will scroll between each mode, indicated by a series of beeps.
Folder 1 - Fire selector position 1
- Mode 1 - One Beep: Semi
- Mode 2 - Two Beeps: Binary
Folder 2 - Fire selector position 2
- Mode 1 - One Beep: Full Auto
- Mode 2 - Two Beeps: 3-Round Burst
Folder 3 - Pre-cocking level
- Mode 1 - One Beep: Pre-cocking OFF
- Mode 2 - Two Beeps: Pre-cocking level 1
- Mode 3, 4 & 5: Higher Pre-cocking levels. These are NOT suitable for this DSG setup and will cause premature failure. Programming the MOSFET for modes 3, 4 or 5 constitutes user error and is not covered by our warranty.
When your chosen mode is indicated by the number of beeps shown above, pull and hold the trigger. The MOSFET will confirm your mode selection by beeping again the number of times indicated above.
Once you have completed the programming process, the MOSFET will exit programming mode automatically.

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
