Web-tex Shemagh Scarf

A high quality modern reproduction of the traditional Middle Eastern keffiyeh and shemagh head-dress, made from a large square cotton scarf. The shemagh is an incredibly practical piece of clothing which can be worn in a variety of manners to protect the wearer from heat, sunburn, dust and general discomfort in hot and arid environments, in addition to being a fairly fashionable scarf. These brightly coloured and patterned versions are based on the shemaghs originating from Iraq, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The cotton and wool tassels on the edges of the shemagh are based on those found on the traditional Jordanian shemagh mhadab. The shemagh can be worn in a variety of ways to suit the user and environment; the traditional head-dress, a face protector, a neck scarf, or even a wrap. The shemagh has a long history of use in the British armed forces, dating back to the early 20th century, making it suitable for military re-enactors or historical Airsofters; it was even standard issue equipment to British forces deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan until 2014.
