This light provides soft light so you can navigate without lighting the whole site up and offers you the option of using red, blue, green or white light in 3 different intensity levels, as well as a flash mode for signalling.
Supplied with a mount for ARC rails, velcro and MOLLE, the WADSN Sidewinder can be mounted wherever you like and can be quickly removed and remounted should the need arise. Description
The WADSN Sidewinder Stalk is based on a popular real steel helmet light design and offers most of the same functionality, including infrared functionality for night vision use and 5 visible lighting options.
The mode selector switch is located on the top of the light, taking the form of a rotary dial with 4 mode options. The available options are OFF (self-explanatory!), C (coloured lighting), W (white lighting) and IR (infrared lighting). The mode selector locks positively into each mode and is firm enough that a bump or scrape won't start a laser light show on your head when you are trying to be sneaky!
The rubber activation button sits just in front and is very easy to find, ideal for head mounting. This button controls the ON/OFF functionality, colour options, light intensity and flash mode of the Sidewinder. Turning the unit on requires a simple tap of the button (with the mode selector in your desired mode) and changing the brightness/intensity of the light can be done by pressing and holding the button which will allow you to scroll through the 3 different intensity options.
To activate the flash mode, simply double-click the button in either white light, colour mode or IR mode. Changing the colour of the light can also be done by selecting the "C" option on the mode selector, pressing the button 5 times in rapid succession and holding it down on the final press, allowing you to cycle through the 3 coloured LED options, with red, green or blue to choose from.
The battery compartment is accessible through the rear of the unit, requiring the steel locking lever to be lifted up to gain access. The WADSN Sidewinder Stem requires a single CR123A battery, and if you don't have any handy you can find them here.
Included in the box we are treated to several mounting hardware options. The pre-installed mount is ideal for MOLLE or belt mounting but can be swapped out for either the ARC rail mount if you want to add your light to a FAST style helmet or the Velcro mount which works with any other helmet or Velcro-clad headwear.
Whether you just love adding gucci bits to your helmet for a touch of realism or you need a navigation light for practical concerns such as discreet map reading and avoidance of obstacles hidden by darkness, the WADSN Sidewinder Stalk Helmet/MOLLE Navigation Light is fantastic at what it does and looks great too!
