KRYTAC Trident MK3 LMG AEG

Building on the previously released KRYTAC LMG, the LMG-M has been updated both outside and in to suit the modern Airsoft battlefield. Externally, we are treated to the same high quality aluminium alloy receiver and engraved KRYTAC markings as the original paired with an updated M-LOK handguard, a new reprofiled ergonomic pistol grip and a sleek low-profile battery stock.

The result is improved handling and compatibility with the most modern accessories, all with the proven KRYTAC Nautilus Gearbox and rotary HOP-up at the core providing the effect on target a proper LMG needs. Inside, you’ll find 18:1 CNC steel gears running on 8mm ball bearing bushings driven by a 30K RPM high torque Neodymium magnet motor, resulting in a stunning rate of fire and a smooth, unlaboured gearbox sound. Also inside is KRYTAC’s updated ETU and MOSFET system which offers active braking, battery protection, and gear strip protection. If you’re looking for an LMG which is barely more burdensome to wield than an AR and comes with full-fat LMG performance, the KRYTAC LMG-M is the one!

Starting at the front, we can find KRYTAC’s Trident flash hider with its uniquely aggressive design, fitted to the 14mm CCW male threads at the tip of the outer barrel. The flash hider looks great and is a perfect match for the styling of the LMG-M as a whole but can be swapped out for a tracer unit, suppressor or alternative muzzle device at your discretion.

Moving rearwards, we come to the handguard which is the same shape and design as the original LMG handguard but now features M-LOK negative space attachment slots at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions, ready for your choice of M-LOK accessories. The mock gas tube also offers a 20mm Picatinny rail at the 12 o’clock position, ideally placed for a front iron sight, RunCam, PEQ laser or tactical flashlight. Below the 20mm rail, we have detailed gas adjustment parts which make this unique KRYTAC design look that bit more realistic, pleasing those who demand maximum realism!

As with most LMG designs, the handguard is wide and fills the hand out nicely, giving you a sense that you’re wielding a serious piece of kit. Though it may be much wider than modern super skinny AR handguards, the LMG-M handguard weighs practically nothing, keeping the front end agile and easy to point unlike almost any other LMG out there.

In the LMG-MP version, the battery is stored inside the handguard and is accessible with the lower handguard removed. To do this, you'll need to unscrew the knurled mock gas adjuster until it is all the way forward, after which the lower handguard will slide forward and lift free. The lower handguard is rather tight, though we recommend proceeding with care as you attempt to remove it to avoid damaging the superb finish.

Moving rearwards, we come to the receiver which is a unique design based on real steel Shrike LMG upper receiver, equipped with all the features one would expect of a belt-fed LMG. The charging handle is on the left side, a flat folding design which retracts the mock bolt when pulled, revealing the rotary HOP-up adjuster inside the ejection port on the right side.

The HOP-up allows you to adjust the flight path of your BBs by applying backspin, looking for the flattest possible trajectory. The KRYTAC HOP-up unit is well known to be of fantastic quality, offering accuracy and range far beyond most out-of-the-box units.

One of the unique aspects of the Shrike-style LMG upper receiver is its ability to house a mock cartridge belt installed inside the upper to complete the realistic belt-fed look. The lower receiver is an M4/AR-15 lower, equipped with an enlarged trigger guard for easy gloved use and a new ergonomic pistol grip from KRYTAC. The grip angle is more vertical than previous designs, resulting in improved ergonomics and less chance of wrist strain when shooting in modern stances with the stock collapsed. The backstrap is also filled out to take pressure off the web of the hand and reduce “hot spots” which can cause fatigue over long durations of use. On each side of the grip, we have a comfortable and grippy crackle texture with linear grooves on the front and rear, ensuring the LMG-M stays firmly in your hands in any weather conditions.

The fire selector switch is ambidextrous, present on each side offering SAFE - SEMI - FULL AUTO fire modes. Like other AR platforms, the selector has a 90-degree throw between each fire mode, making mode changes quick without risking inadvertent actuation. The selector switches themselves are an enhanced design, offering a slightly raised profile with bevelled edges for a great balance between ease of use and comfort.

The magazine release is also ambidextrous, positioned on either side of the magazine well and functioning exactly the same way as a standard AR, meaning familiar handling for most shooters. The right side release is considerably enlarged for easy access and the left side release has extra texture for optimal traction. It goes without saying, if you’ve used an M4/AR-15 platform before you’ll be right at home with the LMG-M!

At the rear of the receiver, we have an ambidextrous sling point constructed from steel, guaranteeing ample strength to support the weight of the LMG-M, even with a single-point sling. Following the sling point, we have the choice of either the good old AR buffer tube, offering 6 positions of adjustment for the latest KRYTAC battery stock, or KRYTAC's new PARA stock, based on the M249 PARA stock but restyled to suit the LMG-MP aesthetic.

The PARA stock of the LMG-MP requires pulling out and rotating by 90-degrees to deploy, equipped with a serrated butt plate to ensure this compact stock stays locked into your shoulder in all weather conditions.

The new KRYTAC battery stock found on the LMG-M is a low-profile design which doesn’t compromise when it comes to battery space, offering a large compartment accessible through the butt plate. To get inside, simply press the two tabs at the top rear of the stock and the butt plate will lift free, revealing a Deans battery connector.

On either side of the stock, we are treated to QD sling sockets, outfitting the LMG-M with the most modern sling mounting apparatus out there, suited to left or right-handed shooters. If you’re running a QD sling setup we recommend using the PTS EP M-LOK QD Sling Mount on the M-LOK handguard up front with a two-point sling.

Inside, the LMG-M keeps the best bits of the proven original KRYTAC LMG and refines them for even more performance downrange. Inside the Nautilus Gearbox, you’ll find KRYTAC’s legendarily strong 18:1 CNC steel gears running on 8mm ball bearing bushings, a match made in heaven for techs looking to get the most performance. The piston is ported and boasts a full steel tooth rack, ensuring the LMG-M shoots like an A-10 Warthog while going the distance when it comes to longevity.

The inner barrel is a 6.05mm tightbore example which is flawlessly polished and of fantastic quality, paired with a well designed rotary HOP-up unit which clicks into each position, holding its setting more effectively than other units and offering a wide range of adjustment. The newly refined KRYTAC ETU/MOSFET system is also present, offering battery protection, active braking and gear strip protection. All of this internal goodness is driven by a 30K RPM high torque Neodymium magnet motor, offering a stunning rate of fire and superb trigger response.
