  • Unique internal design based on GTP9
  • Ambidextrous controls - Great for lefties
  • Great for CQB skirmishes & sniper backup

If you've got a thing for pistols in body kits, this gun probably already has your attention. This gun is based on the G&G GTP9 Gas Blowback Airsoft pistol, but with a complete replacement upper receiver to make the ultimate CQB carbine with plenty of kick, noise, and performance. If you think this is just another Gas Blowback, you're mistaken, this is going to change your CQB game.

Full description

Description

The G&G SMC9 was designed based on carbine kits for pistols seen on the US civilian market which intend to marry the compact size and concealability of a pistol with the added stability and accuracy of a stock to create what is effectively an SMG, providing longer effective range while keeping the compact CQB friendly design aspects.

The SMC9 is G&G's take, based on their fantastic GTP9 pistol with its innovative HOP-up adjustment system and "high whirl valve" which reduces the cooldown effect for a seriously snappy cyclic rate and consistent and accurate follow-up shots. If you need something to keep the speedsofters at bay in CQB the SMC9 will give you your best chance!

Starting at the tip of the outer barrel we can find a muzzle brake style flash hider, giving the SMC9 a modern and aggressive look. If you want to ramp it up a bit with a tracer unit or suppressor you will be happy to discover the 14mm CCW male threaded outer barrel which is accessible once the flash hider is removed. The flash hider is retained by a grub screw in its base, so please make sure you remove it before attempting to unscrew the flash hider to avoid damaging the barrel threads.

The handguard of the SMC9 is M-LOK compatible, with slots available at the 3, 4:30, 6, 7:30 and 9 o 'clock positions for M-LOK accessories or M-LOK to 20mm Picatinny adapters. The use of M-LOK slots at the offset angles gives you plenty of flexibility when setting up your SMC9, allowing you to build a more comfortable and ergonomic setup than more conventional alternatives. The top rail is a 20mm Picatinny example, allowing for a wide variety of optical sights to be mounted thanks to its generous length and monolithic design, meeting the receiver rail seamlessly for a modern and completed look.

The charging handle is present on either side of the handguard and is a low-profile design to reduce snagging and make the SMC9 easy to handle and carry on a sling. The ambidextrous configuration of the charging handle makes it easy to use whether you are left or right-handed, and its positioning makes for super fast manipulation when you need to reload in a hurry. To the rear of the charging handle on the left side we are treated to a QD sling socket, readying the SMC9 for a quick detach sling setup for those who like to swap primary weapons mid-game.

Mounted on the 12 o'clock Picatinny rail you will find a set of G&G's flip-up aperture iron sights pre-installed, giving you a superb sighting option right out of the box which can be left flipped down for backup use if you prefer a scope or red dot sight. The sights can also be removed entirely if you need the extra rail space, and are fully adjustable via the rear sight base for windage and elevation.

The frame is the same frame you will find on the G&G GTP9 GBB pistol, making the SMC9 the perfect platform for users who are already familiar with the GTP9 layout. The slide/bolt release is ambidextrous, with a large and easy to reach slide lock being present on either side of the frame. The trigger is a two-stage safety trigger similar in design to real steel Glock and M&P pistols, giving you a clean and crisp trigger pull with the added benefit that the central blade in the two-stage trigger needs to be pressed to fire the carbine which eliminates the possibility of a negligent discharge caused by snagging the trigger.

The magazine release is located where the trigger guard meets the grip, and is also ambidextrous. This paddle-style release requires a downward press to release the mag, similarly to an H&K USP or MK.23 pistol. The combination of design aspects from different pistols makes the SMC9 the best of both worlds, and benefits from the wealth of design experience of some of the most notable real steel firearms companies.

The receiver of the SMC9 follows the ambidextrous format of the carbine, with a mock ejection port on either side to correctly simulate a real pistol calibre carbine. Each ejection port has a spring-loaded dust cover to prevent dirt and debris ingress which may compromise reliability which is a design aspect borrowed from the M4/AR15 platform and often regarded as one of its most well thought out features. The fire mode selector is just to the rear of the ejection ports and functions similarly to an AUG rifle, offering semi-automatic when the button protrudes on the left side and full auto when the button protrudes on the right side.

Behind the grip you will see a large button; this allows the upper receiver to be split from the frame for maintenance and lubrication. This is super quick and easy to do, with no fiddly bits popping out and no finger-breaking ergonomics, but requires the hammer to be in the cocked position to both disassemble and reassemble the SMC9.

The HOP-up adjustment procedure is a bit different to most other Airsoft guns, requiring the included tool be used to adjust the HOP-up from the front of the carbine, just above the barrel. Detailed instructions on how to do this are included in the box, but the most obvious benefit of this over most GBB pistols is that you do not need to disassemble the gun to adjust the HOP-up, giving you less to do in the field and making the process of setting the HOP-up far quicker and easier, more like an AEG than a GBB.

The stock of the SMC9 is based on modern low profile minimalistic stock designs such as those made by Sig Sauer for their MPX and MCX platforms. The stock is of a fixed length of pull with a rubber butt plate to enhance grip and can be folded to the right side of the carbine where it can be locked in place either for transport or exchanging fire at kissing distance. The button to fold the stock is found on the left side of the stock base and has texture on its surface to allow it to be used in all weather conditions. The low profile butt plate of this stock makes the carbine very manoeuvrable and was the perfect choice for this slick, snag-free design.

So, if your local CQB site is infested with speedybois and you need something to keep up, the SMC9 would be a fine choice. Its combination of the instant trigger response of a GBB with the additional barrel length and accessory options of a short-barreled rifle makes this a piece to contend with up close, and its folding stock and external HOP-up adjustment would also make it a fine backup weapon for a sniper out in the woods.

Special Instructions

Please note the European version of the RIF operates best on high performance gas Like nurpol 4.0 and guarder power up gas. With the new internal system, some green gas can produce an FPS over 350 meaning it will not be suitable for skirmish games. We recommend consulting the staff at your local site before bringing the SMC9 into a skirmish.

It is essential that the HOP-up is at least slightly on with this RIF to improve consistency, as is the case with most GBB pistols.

When rebuilding the gun after splitting the lower and upper for cleaning make sure the hammer is down or it will get in the way. Simply push it down until it clicks, then rebuild the gun.

If you go to remove the flash hider please ensure you first unscrew the grub screw which secures the flash hider in place. Do not try and force the flash hider off or you can cause damage to the threads.

This gun performs best in semi auto or short bursts any more than 4-5 rounds fired at once cause an extreme loss of range due to the cool-down effect.

The externals of the replica are metal where they would be on the real world gun. This includes things like the outer barrel, handguard, and receiver. If a real world gun has polymer parts then the gun will still be marked as full metal externals, examples of this would be an M4, where the Stock and Pistol grip are always made from Polymer.
