EMG Archon™ Firearms Type B

The EMG Archon™ Type B pistol represents the latest in ergonomic advances in tactical handguns, with aggressive texturing on the pistol grip as well as large serrations on the front, rear and top of the slide to ensure a positive grip on the pistol at all times and in all weather conditions. 

The ultra-sleek design of the frame allows the use of a double-stack magazine without making the handgun unduly large. One of the more noteworthy of the Type B pistol's advanced modern features is its extremely low bore-axis. This keeps the sights low to the bore and the pistol low in the hand, meaning when engaging targets rapidly the operator needs to take less care compensating for their bore offset, i.e. the difference between the point of aim and point of impact. 

This is achieved by redesigning the fundamental operation of the vast majority of modern handguns, moving the recoil spring and guide lower in the frame, giving the Archon™ Type B its unique space-gun aesthetics. Another real-world benefit to this is that the recoil is directed into the web of the hand rather than above it, reducing muzzle flip and allowing the operator to bring his pistol back onto target more easily for faster follow-up shots. These features all translate to some extent to the Airsoft/ training Type B, meaning with this pistol you can have all of the latest built-in advantages to help improve your shooting and master the skirmish field. 

The slide of the EMG Archon™ Type B is constructed from CNC machined aluminium and has a hefty and solid feel, befitting a combat pistol. The front sight has a fibre optic inside, allowing quick sight acquisition and rapid target engagement. The rear sight is a flat combat type with texturing to prevent glare, and works particularly well with the fibre front sight as it prevents the shooter from mistaking one of the rear dots for the front sight and thus misaligning the sights when shooting quickly, a common issue when using 3-dot pistol sights. 

The high-density fibre-reinforced polymer frame features aggressive, yet comfortable texturing on the pistol grip, front of the trigger guard and side of the dust cover, meaning you'll never slip onto the trigger inadvertently. The flat trigger feels great to shoot and is designed to encourage proper posture and control of the trigger during firing. The trigger has a consistent uptake and a clean, audible break, imitating the real-world pistol perfectly. The side release is enlarged and is particularly easy to reach, even for those of us with small thumbs. The magazine release can be removed and reinstalled on the opposite side of the pistol, making setting the Type B up for a left-handed shooter is a piece of cake. 

The pistol's magazine holds 20 rounds, again echoing the real-world Type B as one would expect from a training-grade pistol. It features an enlarged textured baseplate, ensuring you have plenty to grip when the magazine is inserted into the pistol and reducing the weight of the pistol to only what is absolutely necessary. This will also provide some protection to the magazine when dropped, however, we do not recommend doing that intentionally!

The performance of this pistol leaves nothing to be desired, with crisp positive blowback and recoil that will shock you, even with the benefits of a low bore-axis it is considerably stronger than most other GBB pistols, adding to the realism. The Type B features a 3-stage recoil spring, ensuring the pistol continues to perform in cold weather. 

The adjustable HOP-up can be found under the barrel after removing the slide. The HOP-up isn't the usual dial; instead, we have a grub key adjuster on the underside of the barrel. To adjust, you will need a 1.5mm Allen key. In order to remove the slide there is a captive pin through the frame, pushing it through from the left side of the pistol with the slide racked will release the side towards the front. The pin is retained on the right side of the pistol, meaning you'll never lose it to the carpet monster!
