Description
If you seek a sniper rifle scope which is both affordable and effective, the Delta Armory 4x40 Rifle Scope w/Scope Rings is a fine choice. This Airsoft scope is ready to mount via the included 25mm scope rings for 20mm Picatinny rails and makes use of the highly functional mildot reticle type. The mildot includes stadia lines surrounding the crosshair which can be used for compensating on the fly for shots at maximum range and for moving targets.
The 4x40 Rifle Scope is fully adjustable via the capped turrets on the top and right side, requiring that you unscrew the protective caps on each turret before applying adjustments using a flathead screwdriver. Once you've zeroed in, replace the caps to keep dust and debris out of the delicate internals. Capped turrets are common on more affordable scopes and have the advantage that once zeroed, there is very little chance a bump, scrape or curious friend will turn a dial and upset your well-zeroed setup!
Being a fixed power optic, the 4x40 Rifle Scope is fixed at 4x zoom, putting you in the perfect spot for long-range Airsoft engagements without adding excess weight to the optic with a variable magnification dial which will in all likelihood stay on 3-4x magnification its whole skirmish life. Minimalist snipers will appreciate this as if you aren't going to use it, it's only going to slow you down!
The "40" in 4x40 denotes the diameter of the objective lens which dictates the field of view through the optic. The standard for scopes in this price bracket is 30mm, meaning you have a wider field of view than similarly priced optics with Delta's 4x40, allowing you to see more of your target's surroundings for greater situational awareness on the battlefield and to avoid getting flanked!
