Description

The A&K SR-25K URX2 AEG is a modern twist on the classic Stoner Rifle (named after Eugene Stoner). This modified interpretation from A&K features a few deviations from what we would expect to see on an SR-25-style rifle. It features an adjustable stock, something not seen on other versions of this rifle such as the MOD 0. It also has a shorter barrel and comes with a preinstalled Triple Tap style compensator, this is unexpected as the Stoner Rifle is iconic for its extremely long barrel that protrudes out the handguard and its gigantic suppressor to match.

This is what makes the SR-25K unique, it has ditched the longer barrel and oversized suppressor to make for a more compact but equally as effective rifle. The Triple Tap style steel compensator located at the front of this platform is based on the real steel Knight's Armament "Triple Tap". This muzzle attachment holds quite a reputation in the real steel world and to see a replica of one on this rifle is an amazing touch to compliment its military style. If you fancy a change, the top section of this compensator can be removed to reveal 20mm CCW threading. The entire muzzle attachment can also be removed to reveal 14mm CCW threading, however, it has been sealed on with some glue so it may require some force.

Following the short section of outer barrel rearwards, we come to the rifle's gas block and realistic shiny metal D.I gas tube that runs back to the receiver, this replicates the SR-25K perfectly. The gas block is constructed from a strong alloy and features small sections of Picatinny rail on the top and bottom, perfect for mounting a laser and a bipod stand. This is a nice feature for a DMR build as it gives you plenty of space to mount a gargantuan scope and gives you a section of extra room for any other necessary attachments.

Immediately after the gas block, we come to the rifle's free float handguard, it is a near-perfect replica of the real steel SR-25. This handguard is styled after the KAC RIS used on the real steel Stoner Rifle, it is free-floating meaning the handguard won't is installed securely to the barrel nut and it doesn't touch the barrel, good for the real steel rifle as it prevents the handguard from being too hot to touch. The10 10-inch polymer handguard is equipped with 20mm Picatinny rails at the 3,6, 9 and 12 o'clock positions. Lots of space for a little bit of everything!

There is a built-in flip-up front sight at the front, it has a section of Picatinny rail on it, making it blend into the top section of rail seamlessly when it's not in use. The sight can be engaged using your finger to lift them and when left down they do not disrupt any sights mounted on top due to them becoming a part of the Picatinny rail.

The receiver follows the established M4/AR-15 layout, this is good news for those habituated with M4s and allows for an easy transition to this slightly larger rifle. Running along the top of the receiver we are treated to an additional section of Picatinny rail. Behind this rail, we find the second part of the aperture iron sights, which can also be flipped up by hand. The windage is adjustable by twisting the dial located on the right side, this will move the iron sight from left to right.

The fire selector is located just above the pistol grip and offers 3 modes of fire; Safe, semi-automatic and full automatic, with a 90-degree throw between each mode. The selector looks like it should stop at semi-auto due to the raised protrusion built into the receiver on the left side, just like the real M110 and SR-25 rifles, however, the fire selector seamlessly travels over this ridge to allow for the full automatic capabilities. The 90-degree throw means the selector is quick to actuate but minimises the risk of accidentally misaligning it at an inopportune moment. The addition of full-auto helps this rifle bridge the gap and become a hybrid between a DMR and an assault rifle, allowing you to choose your style of play and adapt to any situation.

The magazine release is ambidextrous, the button on the right side is located on the magazine well and is a push-button design, just like an M4. The mag release on the left side of the receiver is different, it's a paddle-like button that when pressed doesn't drop the magazine out but instead allows you to pull the magazine out "strip and rip" style. The pistol grip is the "A2" style finger-ridged grip and has an ergonomic design with a bump near the top of the grip, this sits between your middle and ring finger and it provides extra comfort whilst holding the A&K SR-25K URX2.

The trigger of this Airsoft rifle is a standard military-spec AR-15 trigger that wraps comfortably around the finger. It offers a snappy trigger return that is perfect for a fast succession of semi-automatic shots. Above the magazine well on the receiver, there is a mock bolt catch that has no function on this platform but it keeps it true to the real steel Stoner Rifles.

The extended charging handle can be found at the top rear of the receiver and when the mock bolt carrier is retracted, it pops open the dust cover and allows access to the metal rotary HOP-up unit through the ejection port on the right side. With the HOP-up adjuster exposed, you can fine-tune your A&K SR-25K AEG for different BB weights to maximise your range and achieve the flattest possible trajectory. The rotary HOP-up design is superior for M4/AR-15 style AEG platforms, offering improved setting retention and allowing finer increments of adjustment when compared to the older generation "gear" HOP-up design.

Coming to the rear of the A&K SR-25K URX2 AEG we find the buffer tube and adjustable stock. The alloy buffer tube is a standard M4 spec meaning the stock can be changed if you so desire, it offers four different lengths of extension which accommodates a large variety of modern shooting stances. The polymer stock that comes with the A&K SR-25K URX2 AEG is a standard crane stock with a sloped cheek rest for improved ergonomics. It has a paddle that can be pressed in to adjust the extension of the stock.

The battery compartment is located in the buffer tube and can be accessed by removing the stock, to do this, press the button to adjust the stock and pull the cylinder out further, this will then allow the stock to be taken off. Once removed, a Deans style connector is revealed inside. For this AEG we recommend a 7.4V 1200mAh LiPo Stick Battery as it will comfortably fit into the buffer tube and allow for the stock to be fully collapsed.

Internally, this A&K SR-25K URX2 AEG means serious business! Inside there is a Version 2 long (sometimes known as version 2.5) gearbox with Tokyo Marui compatible steel gears, a long cylinder and piston, offering greater air volume than a standard V2 which lends itself well to a DMR setup if that's the way you are leaning with this platform. The inner barrel has a 6.03mm tightbore diameter, ensuring more accuracy and FPS than a standard bore. It has a full set of steel gears and 8mm ball-bearing bushings for a smooth and reliable experience. The piston and cylinder are double-sealed with o-rings to ensure minimum loss of air volume and when paired with the high torque neodymium motor firing this A&K SR-25K URX2 AEG truly feels like a premium experience.

Whether your loadout is based on the US Army or perhaps you have been eyeing up a great DMR/Assault rifle hybrid base platform to fit both roles readily, the A&K SR-25K URX2 AEG is the perfect platform for you. With flawless build quality, great internals and the option of running it as either a DMR or assault rifle, all this bad boy is missing is the attachments to complete the military look!

Special Instructions

These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.

FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.

Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.

Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.

Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
