The original KRYTAC Barrett REC7 is widely regarded as having some of the highest-quality core external parts available and the latest version, the MK3 is no different! The majority of the REC7 MK3 build is constructed from Aluminium and finished with a CNC machining process, resulting in immaculate details and a flawless form, as one would expect for a licenced Barrett REC7 replica from top-tier manufacturer KRYTAC!  

Inside, you’ll find 18:1 CNC steel gears running on 8mm ball bearing bushings driven by a 30K RPM high torque Neodymium magnet motor, resulting in a stunning rate of fire and a smooth, unlaboured gearbox sound. Also inside is KRYTAC’s updated ETU and MOSFET system which offers active braking, battery protection, and gear strip protection. The legendary KRYTAC Rotary HOP-up unit is also present, paired with a 6.04mm tightbore inner barrel offering improved accuracy and long-range effect on target. 

Starting at the front, we can find the Barrett REC7 muzzle brake mounted to 14mm CCW male barrel threads. This device looks fantastic, has detailed Barrett engravings and is an iconic part of the REC7 build, though you can always swap it out for your choice of 14mm CCW compatible tracer unit, suppressor or alternative muzzle device. 

Moving rearwards, we come to the REC7 M-LOK handguard which features a monolithic style 20mm Picatinny rail running along the top and meeting the receiver rail seamlessly. This provides an uninterrupted attachment surface suited for practically any optical sight setup, including combinations of Holographic sights with magnifiers or even night vision monoculars if you're made of money!

Making use of the M-LOK negative space attachment interface, the REC7 keeps the weight down to only what is necessary while offering the option to add any M-LOK compatible accessories, from vertical grips to bipods and more. The 13.5-inch handguard has an octagonal profile and provides M-LOK at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions with weight-reducing vent ports at the offset angles.

The smooth edges of the handguard make it a pleasure to hold, unlike many other metallic handguards which require rail covers for comfort. Having a handguard which requires no additional rail covers or grips to provide a comfortable hold means you can keep the REC7 MK3 in its bare-bones configuration if you prefer a simple setup, or deck it out to the nines if the mission requires it.

The REC7 receiver displays the beautiful, authentic, and fully licensed Barrett Firearms trademarks on the left side of the magazine well, reading; BARRETT | FIREARMS MFG INC | MURFREESBORO, TN | REC7 | CAL. MULTI. These markings are precisely engraved and a dead-on match for the real thing, boasting the brand pedigree of one of the most well-known firearms manufacturers out there.

In every other way, the receiver matches the form of a standard AR-15 receiver, with its mock ejection port positioned on the right side of the upper receiver, followed by a mock brass defector and mock forward assist. The right side of the upper receiver features a standard-shaped AR-15 cam pin protrusion, perfectly matching that of the real Barrett REC 7.

The charging handle, located at the top rear of the upper receiver is a Milspec low-profile design, intended to reduce the chances of equipment snags slowing you down. Pulling the charging handle will open the mock dust cover and retract the mock bolt, revealing the rotary adjuster of KRYTAC's superb HOP-up unit. The HOP-up allows you to adjust the flight path of your BBs by applying backspin, looking for the flattest possible trajectory. KRYTAC's rotary unit is a bit nicer than most, offering a tactile click for each adjustment increment, holding its setting more effectively in the long term. 

The lower receiver is where you will find the controls, with the fire selector being located just above the pistol grip in a very accessible location; one of the traits the AR-15 platform is known and loved for. The selector switch provides 3 positions; Safe, Semi-automatic, and fully automatic with a 90-degree throw between each mode and is mirrored on either side to allow left and right-handed shooters to operate this essential control intuitively. Each selector position is denoted with an engraved pictogram, following trends in modern firearms development and imitating real Barrett REC7 perfectly.

The magazine release can be found on the right side of the REC7 MK3, on the magazine well, and is protected from accidental drops with a magazine release fence machined as part of the lower receiver. The mag release lies well within reach of the trigger finger of a right-handed user and can be used by left-handed shooters by pressing the release with the support hand thumb. This magazine release is a "drop-free" design, granting additional speed when time is of the essence; whether you are skirmishing or shooting against the clock!

The pistol grip is a very comfortable, modern design with discrete finger ridges and texture on either side for optimal grip. With a similar grip angle and profile to popular real-world MOE and MAID pistol grips from Magpul, the KRYTAC grip takes the best from the real steel world and optimises it for Airsoft. The trigger guard is enlarged to allow easy trigger access when wearing gloves and also boasts a finger ledge, giving your finger somewhere safe and comfortable to sit between bursts of fire. 

At the rear of the receiver, we have an ambidextrous sling point constructed from steel, guaranteeing ample strength to support the weight of the REC7 MK3, even with a single-point sling. Following the sling point, we have the good old AR buffer tube, offering 6 positions of adjustment for the pre-installed KRYTAC Battery Stock.

The stock is constructed from superb high-density polymer throughout, with a steel adjustment pin to eliminate wobble and steel QD sling sockets on either side. A "club foot" style design with a low profile adjustment lever to reduce the possibility of snagging the stock on your equipment, the KRYTAC stock really is superb, though the buffer tube offers the option to switch it out for an M4/AR-15 stock of your choice if you fancy a different look. 

Accessing the battery compartment is super simple compared to other stocks; simply press the two textured tabs at the toe of the stock and the butt plate will pop off, revealing the battery compartment and the Deans battery connector inside. We recommend a 7.4V 1450mAh LiPo in crane/nunchuck configuration for an easy fit but there is potentially room for more, though make sure you don't squash your LiPo cells!

Also present on the stock is a sling slot for more traditional rifle sling setups and a raised cheek pad comprised of slightly smoother polymer than the rest of the stock for improved comfort. The butt plate is rubberized and is textured for optimum grip; ensuring that the stock stays firmly in your shoulder when shooting. The KRYTAC logo can be found embossed on the left side in bold lettering, allowing you to show off your brand allegiance!

Inside the Nautilus Gearbox, you’ll find KRYTAC’s legendarily strong 18:1 CNC steel gears running on 8mm ball bearing bushings, a match made in heaven for techs looking to get the most performance. The piston boasts a full steel tooth rack, ensuring the REC7 MK3 keeps the superb performance and robust nature which originally put KRYTAC on the map. 

The inner barrel is a 6.04mm tightbore example which is flawlessly polished and of fantastic quality, paired with a well designed rotary HOP-up unit which clicks into each position, holding its setting more effectively than other units and offering a wide range of adjustment. The newly refined KRYTAC ETU/MOSFET system is also present, offering battery protection, active braking and gear strip protection. All of this internal goodness is driven by a 30K RPM high torque Neodymium magnet motor, offering a stunning rate of fire and superb trigger response.
