- Czech Small Arms licensing!
- 6.03mm Tightbore inner barrel
- Pre-installed EFCS MOSFET
This is not an AK, I repeat this is not an AK variant! It may share some silhouette similarities but the VZ.58 is a unique platform that was the standard service rifle for the Slovakian military from 1959 to 1984. This Delta Armory replica is licensed by the Real Steel Firearms company Czech Small Arms which is the only manufacturer of SA VZ.58 rifles. The DA-VZ58 is based on the SA VZ.58 Sporter Carbine except with a longer outer barrel. The trademarks to indicate this can be found on the AEG.
Internally, the Delta Armory DA-VZ58 CSA VZ.58 "Kosa" AEG features some of the high-quality pre-upgraded Delta Armory internals such as an EFCS programmable MOSFET 18:1 ratio steel gears, a quick change spring system, a unique gearbox design and a high torque motor. The EFCS MOSFET allows the fire modes to be reprogrammed for burst modes and semi-auto only using the Ares EFCS programmer (available separately) and also features a low-voltage cutoff function, protecting your battery from being damaged if the voltage drops too low.

Description
If you are looking for a unique platform that comes with the choice of either a polymer or real wood handguard, then look no further! The Delta Armory DA-VZ58 CSA VZ.58 "Kosa" AEG is perfect for a Slovakian military or Private Military Contractor loadout. The real steel rifles affordable nature, simple and effective side folding stock design and the ability to be stashed out of sight while packing the firepower of a full-sized rifle made it extremely desirable for both militaries and private organisations alike.
This AEG should be just as desirable for Airsoft skirmishers, its full metal construction, pre-upgraded Delta Armory internals and EFCS programmable MOSFET make for a superbly performing rifle, straight out of the box. Both the polymer and real wood handguard variants are identical other than their handguard's construction.
Starting at the front of the DA-VZ58 we find a very small thread protector muzzle device. Both the thread protector and outer barrel are constructed from alloy and underneath the muzzle device, you can find 14mm CW threading. If you're more of a sneaky skirmisher or you need a tracer for an instinct-aiming advantage, you'll need a 14mm CW to 14mm CCW adapter to mount the most common tracer units, suppressors and alternative flash hiders.
Immediately after the muzzle device, we find the front sight post. The iron sight's elevation can be adjusted using a front sight adjustment tool. To keep the front iron sights protected, there are a set of "wings" on either side of the post so any accidental bumps will not hinder your ability to line up your shots accurately.
Moving rearwards down the long portion of the exposed barrel, we eventually reach the gas block. It is constructed from alloy and perfectly replicates the look of the real steel VZ.58. On the true firearm, these parts exert the full force of the gas pressure on the piston head when shooting. However, on this Airsoft replica, the gas block is solely here for aesthetics and realism. Attached to the left side of the gas block we can find a sling point with a steel loop attachment point pre-installed, this pairs well with the sling point found at the rear of the receiver.
After the gas block, we come to the handguards. Depending on which version of this Airsoft replica you decide to buy, these will either be constructed from black plastic polymer or real wood. The polymer handguards provide a tactical and militaristic look, perfect for Eastern European military loadouts. The real wood handguards give this rifle the exact style needed for a private military or rebel insurgent loadout. Both styles of handguard look incredible and it's definitely a tough choice to pick a favourite!
The battery compartment is hidden away under these handguards. There are two steps required to access this compartment, firstly, un-slot the pin located in the trunnion block, under the iron sights. After this, you can remove the upper handguard to access a thumb screw located at the front of the lower handguard. Once this thumb screw is removed you will find a mini Tamiya battery connector, for this rifle, we recommend a 7.4v 1300mAh LiPo Stick Battery.
Next, we come to the trunnion block where the tangent rear iron sight is found. This sight is very reminiscent of the iconic AK-47 rifle, however, it has been modernised and painted metallic black. This iron sight provides multiple graduations for adjustment and a fine rear sight notch to align with the front sight post. The sight can be adjusted by pressing the buttons on either side of the sight notch and moving it back and forth on its base. Just under the iron sights, we can find our first Czech Small Arms trademarks on the left side of the platform. Engraved in the trunnion block there is a serial number, the real steel name (SA VZ.58 Sporter) and underneath that, the ammo type that the real steel rifle would fire.
The receiver is situated rearwards from the trunnion block, it has the silhouette of an AK receiver but it is definitely not the same! It is constructed from alloy and has a modern black finish. Located at the top of the receiver there are ribs, these are designed to strengthen the receiver but they also give this platform its unique style. The fire selector is located on the right side of this platform which is a slight deviation from most modern platforms. It offers three modes of fire; 1 is full auto, 30 is semi-auto and the rifle is in safe when the fire selector is pointed up between these two modes, this will lock the trigger. The fire modes can be altered using the pre-installed EFCS MOSFET and Ares EFCS programmer (available separately).
Pulling back on the charging handle will reveal the rotary HOP-up unit. The HOP-up allows you to tune the VZ.58 for your chosen ammo weight, looking for the flattest trajectory possible. Once your adjustment is complete, release the charging handle and the spring will send the mock bolt back to its closed position with a satisfying "clank".
The magazine release is found at the bottom of the receiver, it is only accessible from the left side of the platform due to the trigger guard's construction. The magazine attachment method is similar to the AK "rock and lock method" which means you have to put the front of your magazine in first at an angle, then "rock" it back to lock it in place. The pistol grip features an ergonomic design that includes texturing on the front and rear and provides optimal grip for both gloved and ungloved users. There is also a finger ridge on the front of the grip, it's rare to see ergonomics taken into consideration on a gun that looks similar to the iconic AK, the Czechs clearly had more sympathy for our sensitive Western hands!
Finally, we come to the stock. This stock is... minimalistic! It is constructed from alloy and has a fixed length and the reduced size of it means it doesn't add a lot of extra weight to the platform. The butt stock doesn't have any texturing but the shape of it fits well in your shoulder. The stock can be folded to the right of the platform to make this rifle more compact. To fold it, simply press the button found at the front of the stock and this will defeat the mechanism so you are free to fold or unfold the stock. The rear sling point is found in between the stock and the receiver on the left side of the VZ.58. It features another loop-style sling attachment method.
Inside, the Vz.58 is equipped with a unique gearbox that includes the EFCS programmable MOSFET, 18:1 ratio steel gears and a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel. The pre-installed motor is a high-torque model, providing a snappy trigger response ideal for exchanging fire in close-range settings. The EFCS MOSFET allows the fire modes to be reprogrammed for burst modes and semi-auto only using the Ares EFCS programmer (available separately) and also features a low-voltage cutoff function, protecting your battery from being damaged if the voltage drops too low.
If you like the idea of an AK-style platform but want something different from the rest, then the Delta Armory DA-VZ58 CSA VZ.58 "Kosa" AEG is the one for you. This Czech Small Arms trademarked rifle is certainly unique and with its high torque motor and EFCS MOSFET, it is sure to aid you in all your skirmishing escapades!

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
