  • Perfect display piece or last-ditch backup

Love the classic looks of the USP, but you already invested in Glock mags? We know your pain, and for those of us who want a collection but cannot justify owning several different GBB platforms, the Umarex H&K USP Compact Spring Operated Airsoft Pistol is here to provide a visually faithful representation of the legendary H&K USP. This USP is spring operated, bringing back haunting memories of seaside special BB guns which fall apart after 4 shots. We are happy to report that this springer USP is nothing like this, and is far nicer than 99% of spring pistols on the market, both externally and in performance. This pistol may not be a skirmish winner, but would make a fantastic addition to any gun wall, or a last-ditch backup weapon for humiliation kills!

Description

The Umarex USP Compact Spring Operated Airsoft Pistol is made from quality ABS polymer with a textured frame, and smooth slide, matching well with the looks of the real USP with its polymer frame and smooth phosphate coated slide. Naturally, being a Umarex product, this pistol sports full Heckler and Kock trademarks on the slide and frame, which are finely engraved to perfectly match a real USP-C. The real USP was known for its incredible reliability and was an extremely advanced and forward-thinking design for its time. In its real steel form, the USP-C has been used by German KSK, US Navy Seals and numerous action heroes and villains from classic films we all know and love.

This USP is a spring operated Airsoft gun and requires the slide to be pulled back to cock the spring and piston before each shot. The rear of the slide features deep serrations to match the real USP's slide design, though we recommend cocking the pistol from the front of the slide to get better purchase. The hammer, which can be found at the rear of the slide, reciprocates with each shot, and is a nice indicator of whether or not the pistol is cocked. The sights are simple fixed pistol style open sights which are quick and easy to allign. Along the left side of the slide, we are treated to precisely engraved H&K trademarks, reading "H&K USP COMPACT" with "cal 6mm BB" engraved below in smaller, more discrete lettering. These trademarks instantly set this USP apart from other springers and will make it look very authentic as a part of an Airsoft gun collection.

Unlike many other springer pistols, the controls on this USP-C are fully functional. The magazine release is an ambidextrous paddle-style design, similar to an MP7, and requires a push down on the textured catch to release the mag. The manual safety can be found on the left side of the pistol, sitting beneath the shooter's thumb for fast access. The "safe" mode can be activated by pushing down on the safety catch, which will lock the trigger of the USP and prevent it from firing. When you are ready to shoot, simply push the catch up with your thumb. One of the most surprising features of this USP springer is its functional slide lock, which will hold the slide to the rear when the magazine is empty. This feature is not present on any other spring powered pistol we are aware of and is a nice touch for realism and functionality. With your reloaded magazine reinserted, pressing on the serrated surface of the slide release will send the slide forward, ready for the next shot!

The USP grip is an extremely well thought out and functional design, featuring aggressive pyramidal checkering at the front and rear, and crackle texturing on the sides to provide optimal grip. The frame also features the H&K logo in high visibility red, with "USP" engraved alongside. The trigger guard is shaped to protect the magazine release from accidentally being pressed, and sports texture at the front for use with modern shooting stances.

So, if you have had your eye on a USP, the staple of 1990's action movies, but you already have your chosen Airsoft GBB primary, the Umarex USP Compact could be a great choice to satisfy your urge and not upset the bank manager!
