This electric-powered replica from Tokyo Marui is a stunning example of the SCAR Assault Rifle made by FN Herstal in the late 2000s as an attempt to update the tired AR platform, and create a modular and adaptable weapon system for the United States. The 'L' version of the rifle features a 5.56x45mm receiver and a 35.5cm Barrel. This Airsoft Electric Gun replica of the platform offers an amazing recoil system which moves the weighted Dust Cover during firing, rattling the shoulder as you burn through BBs. This system also includes a realistic Bolt-Stop function which will stop the gun from firing when out of BBs, prompting you to install a fresh magazine and press the Bolt Release. If you're looking for a disturbingly realistic experience on the Airsoft skirmish field and fancy something a little bit off the beaten path when it comes to external design, then the SCAR-L from Tokyo Marui is a surefire way to turn heads and keep them pinned at the same time.

The Tokyo Marui SCAR-L Recoil Shock is made to a stunning standard using majoritively Alloy, with the exception of the Lower Receiver, Pistol Grip and Stock which are made using a tough Polymer. The Handguard is a 20mm RIS design which offers four points of rail space for Foregrips, Flashlights, Lasers and much more. The top of the rifle features a full length top 20mm rail which comes with a rear Flip-Up Ironsights installed out of the box. This top rail can easily accept a 20mm Sight/Scope/Optic to improve aesthetics and target acquisition. The Flash Hider can be removed from the gun (once the grub screw has been removed) to reveal a 14mm CCW Thread underneath for the installation of Suppressor, Tracer Units or any Muzzle Device that's compatible. 

The Receiver is a typical AR platform layout with the exception of Ambidextrous Controls for the Fire Selector and Magazine Release, making this a very easy AEG for left handed players to use. By pulling back the Charging Handle the Dust Cover will open to reveal a Rotary HOP Unit which can be used to make precise adjustments to the amount of backspin on the BB, helping theoretically improve range and consistency with the right BBs and settings. The Charging Handle can be swapped over to the other side of the Receiver (as per the real thing) should you wish to. The Receiver also has beautiful FN trademarks which help enhance the realism, and are the ideal finishing touch to a perfect replica.

The rear of the gun features the typical 'Ugg Boot' stock of the SCAR platform, which is both Folding and Sliding for ease of transport/storage, and to make it adaptable for a variety of situations. This stock is also where the Battery is housed, the cable for which runs inside the stock and will not be damaged by the folding mechanism. To access, simply push the pin out of the Butt Pad and remove it to access the Mini Tamiya connector inside. A short/wide 7.4v Stick LiPo Battery is ideal for the space inside.

The box is neatly laid out in true Tokyo Marui style, and includes an 82rnd Pressed-Steel Recoil Shock Magazine (which activates the Bolt-Stop feature) and a detailed (but sadly very Japanese) Instruction Manual with some translations. If you're an experienced Airsofter, or someone who wants to jump straight in to the absolute top of the game with an Airsoft Gun that has decades of history and experience behind the name, coupled with top of the range features like Mechanical Recoil and a functional Bolt Stop, then there's really no choice beyond the Tokyo Marui No.12 SCAR-L Recoil Shock AEG.

If you hear the rattle of a spring to the top rear of the receiver please note that this is not a fault, and is part of the recoil system. This spring is designed to add bounce to the recoil weight added to the replica by Tokyo Marui to improve the feel for added realism.
