If you love iconic firearms and your collection lacks an M16, the Specna Arms SA-B06 ONE™ M16A4 AEG; Kestrel Basic ETU should be in your sights! Boasting full metal construction, a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel and rotary HOP-up unit, this is Specna Arms' original M16A4 ONE™ reinvented with the Kestrel Basic ETU/MOSFET system.

The Kestrel Basic offers programmable fire modes including 3 round burst and binary trigger, adjustable pre-cocking with 6 levels to choose from and several quality-of-life functions such as low battery warning and cycle completion. The result is a remarkably snappy trigger when pre-cocking is set and the ability for M16 nerds to set the SA-B06 up like the real deal, with SAFE-SEMI-3RND BURST fire controls. There is nothing quite as satisfying as pumping out a 3-round burst with a 20" barrelled M16A4!

On the outside, the SA-B06 is constructed from fantastic quality alloy, aluminium and high-density polymer, just like the original ONE™ series. The outer barrel includes a realistic heavy profile, the receiver shape and furniture match the real M16A4 to a tee and the carry handle is removable to reveal a 20mm Picatinny rail, ready for your ACOG if you're going USMC with your build. If you're looking for an AR for outdoors or you love the iconic M16 silhouette, the Specna Arms SA-B06 ONE™ M16A4 AEG; Kestrel Basic ETU will be an asset to your game!

Starting at the tip of the lengthy 20" outer barrel we can find an alloy A2 birdcage flash hider, the iconic M16 flash hider design complete with the enclosed lower section of the A2 version. The enclosed section is designed to prevent dirt and debris from obstructing the shooter's sightline and also helps control recoil and conceal muzzle flash. If you're building a custom M16 or a DMR-style platform you'll be happy to learn that the birdcage can be swapped for any 14mm CCW male threaded muzzle device, including suppressors, tracer units or alternative flash hiders and muzzle brakes. Just remember to remove the grub screw in the flash hider before attempting to unscrew it!

Moving rearward, we can take note of the correct heavy profile outer barrel of this M16A4 replica, designed in the real world to help the M16 cope with rapid fire without losing accuracy. Being 20 inches in length, this outer barrel contains a whopping 509mm inner barrel with a 6.03mm bore, giving the SA-B06 superb accuracy potential and squeezing a bit of extra FPS out of the same power spring thanks to air efficiency improvements.

The front iron sight is the standard M16 fixed front post which doubles as the gas block in the real deal. The sight is constructed from alloy and the sight blade is adjustable for elevation using an AR-15 front sight adjustment tool. On the bottom of the front sight, we also have a sling point and bayonet lug which is compatible with most Airsoft M9 bayonet replicas.

The two-piece high density polymer handguards follow just behind, retained by an alloy handguard cap at the front and what is known as the "M4/M16 Delta Ring" at the rear. The appropriate cylindrical ribbed design first seen on the M16A2, these handguards are solid as a rock with a high-quality matt finish. The mock gas tube is visible through the upper vent ports, a lovely hint of realism often missed from Airsoft AR replicas. Congratulations Specna Arms, you passed the realism test!

A nifty trick built into the M16A4 is the ability to mount an M203 40mm MOSCART Grenade Launcher directly to the barrel by removing the lower handguard, ideal for those who want to go full Arnie with their build. To remove the lower handguard, simply pull back on the Delta Ring between the handguards and receiver and you should be able to pull it off. The Delta Ring attachment method also allows replica M5 RAS railed handguards to be fitted if you're building a USMC M16A4 or SAM-R marksman rifle.

The receiver should be a familiar sight to anyone who has handled an M4/AR-15 platform before, constructed from alloy and matching the real M16A4/M4A1 receiver-style perfectly. This includes the reinforced front pinhole, milspec flat trigger guard, magazine release fence and low profile charging handle latch. The magazine release is on the right side of the magazine well, a push-through design just like a standard M4/AR-15 AEG with a textured surface for optimal traction.

The fire selector switch is just above the pistol grip on the right side, offering 3 modes of fire with a 90-degree throw between each. The default fire modes are safe, semi-auto and full auto but with the pre-installed Kestrel Basic ETU, you have the option of using binary trigger instead of semi and 3-round burst instead of full auto. The real M16A4 used a SAFE-SEMI-3RND burst trigger group so if you want to run your SA-B06 like the real deal you have that option built in!

The charging handle can be found at the top rear of the receiver and as mentioned, features the milspec low-profile charging handle latch to reduce snagging potential. Pulling the charging handle back will pop the dust cover open and retract the chrome-finished mock bolt, revealing the rotary HOP-up unit on the right side. The HOP-up allows you to adjust the amount of backspin applied to your projectiles and tune the SA-B06 for different ammo weights, looking for the flattest possible trajectory. When you've completed your adjustments, you can slap the "ping pong paddle" style bolt release catch on the left side of the receiver to drop the mock bolt with a satisfying metal-on-metal "clank".

Up top, we have a 20mm Picatinny receiver rail with a pre-installed alloy carry handle which also contains the rear "ghost ring" iron sight. The rear sight is adjustable for both windage and elevation without requiring a single tool to do it, the dial on the right side adjusts windage (left to right) and the dial below the aperture controls elevation. If you prefer to run an optical sight you can loosen the thumb screws on the left side of the carry handle and remove it to access your receiver rail. As much as the carry handle is an iconic part of the M16 build, an ACOG-style optic is ideal if you're going for an "in the field" look.

The pistol grip provided on the SA-B06 is an "A2" finger-ridged type, with diamond checkering on either side and linear grooves on the rear to provide a comfortable grip. The A2 grip is exactly what an M16A4 replica needs, matching the real steel US Army and USMC-issued variant perfectly.

Bringing up the rear we have the M16A2 fixed stock, a full-length stock featured on both the A2 and the A4 models. This stock is rather long and more suitable for loadouts without body armour but is very comfortable when shouldered and solid as a rock. The butt plate features aggressive diamond texture for superb gripping qualities in all weather conditions and also includes a sling point at the toe of the stock. The fixed stock also serves as the battery compartment of the SA-B06 which is great news as the space inside is absolutely cavernous!

To access the battery compartment, simply press the retaining catch on the top of the battery port door, dead centre of the butt plate. This will allow the door to open, revealing a Deans/T-plug battery connector inside. We recommend a 7.4V 1500mAh LiPo battery for an easy fit and great performance. While there is plenty of space for bigger batteries, we recommend measuring the compartment first before ordering the biggest battery you can find, just in case!

Inside the SA-B06 ONE™, we are treated to the same solid internals as the original, including 18:1 ratio steel gears running on 8mm ball bearing bushings and a steel spring guide with Enter & Convert™ quick change spring functionality. Enter & Convert™ requires the gearbox to be removed from the receiver but doesn't require the gearbox itself to be opened, saving you hassle when it comes to power tuning and minimising expertise needed.

The highlight of this refined version of the original SA-B06 ONE™ is its Kestrel Basic ETU/MOSFET, offering 6 levels of adjustable pre-cocking, options for 3 round burst and binary trigger along with low battery warning, cycle completion, active braking and low/high voltage cutoff. This means you can crank up the trigger response for super fast double taps or run the M16A4 as it was intended, with SAFE-SEMI-3RND BURST fire controls. Also inside is a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel and rotary HOP-up unit, giving you superb accuracy potential and the latest HOP-up design for M4/AR-15 platforms.

FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.

Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
