An iconic platform! The Novritsch SSR77 A1 AUG AEG is based on the Austrian standard-issue rifle, used by Christoph from Novritsch himself. It features a full metal construction, although, on an AUG that doesn't mean a lot of metal. The proportions of polymer to metal used for the SSR77 correspond perfectly with the iconic, real steel StG 77 AUG. Novritsch has once again proven that they are really thinking of the players, with its programmable electronic trigger unit, CNC Hop-Up chamber and an infinity flat-hop AEG bucking, the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AUG AEG is a treat for any Airsoft skirmisher!
The programmable electronic trigger unit features modes such as semi-auto, burst, binary, full auto deactivation and adjustable pre-cocking. The ability to alter fire modes makes the SSR77 A1 a very versatile platform and when combined with the lighter-weight high-density polymer, it makes for a premium rifle that is ready for both outdoor and CQB skirmishes. If you are looking for a rifle to complete your military look, or you simply want to get your hands on a great performing AUG, the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AUG AEG is one of the best Airsoft AUGs available on the market!

Description
The AUG is a futuristic-looking platform, there is no doubt about it. With its modern ergonomic features, ambidextrous controls and ultra-slick quick disassembly it's almost impossible to believe that the real steel rifle was designed way back in 1977! It was known as the STG 77 when it was introduced to the Austrian service and it has been seen with numerous armed forces and police units around the world.
Christoph from Novritsch is very familiar with this platform due to it being his standard-issue rifle when he served in the Austrian military. His knowledge and understanding of the iconic platform are clearly shown as the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AUG AEG is a very faithful replica of the real steel rifle.
Starting at the front of the SSR77 A1, we find a three-pronged, open-style flash hider. This matches the muzzle device found on the real steel service rifle and adds to the platform's futuristic look. Underneath this muzzle attachment, we can find 14mm CCW male threading, this is a nice touch as it opens up this AUG for endless front-end customisation, just remember to remove the grub screw first.
Moving rearwards, we come to the long portion of exposed outer barrel. It features a unique ridged design and is gun metal grey. It is an iconic part of the A1 AUG silhouette and the SSR77 perfectly replicates the real steel rifle. The exposed outer barrel can be removed to make the SSR77 A1 extremely compact, ideal for CQB skirmishing. It twists off just like the muzzle device and reveals an additional section of 14 mm CCW male threading.
To effectively use the SSR77 with the outer barrel section removed, it is recommended that a suppressor is attached to cover the exposed inner barrel, or instead, install the Novritsch SSR77 Short Inner Barrel to replace the 510mm inner barrel with a 385mm inner barrel. Installing this will mean the inner barrel does not protrude out of the short outer barrel, thus, negating the need for a suppressor to protect it.
Following the outer barrel, we come to the folding vertical foregrip, it can be positioned in either a horizontal or vertical orientation for use. The polymer grip features an ergonomic design that is comfortable to hold in both positions. To adjust between positions, pull the polymer grip outwards and then rotate the foregrip to the other position, once adjusted let go of the grip and it will lock into place.
Located just above the foregrip, we can find the dummy gas adjuster. This part is purely for aesthetics on the SSR77 A1, but on the real rifle, this part allows the flow of gas to the operating system to be adjusted for use in normal and adverse conditions. Dummy parts like this are always great to see on Airsoft replicas as they keep the looks realistic and faithful to the real firearm.
Just like the real steel AUG, the SSR77 A1 has a hot-swap barrel system. This means you can quickly remove the outer barrel for maintenance and upgrades, saving you time if you're the techy type. To remove the outer barrel you will need to lock the charging handle back and up into its "safety notch" and push and hold the catch found on the left side of the receiver, between the folding front grip and the trigger guard. With the barrel removal catch held down, the barrel can be rotated by just a few degrees clockwise with the barrel facing away, and you can pull the entire outer barrel out. This is only recommended for essential maintenance and upgrades; if you do it too frequently or do it wrong, you can damage the SSR77 and render it useless!
The upper receiver is constructed from alloy and provides a realistic feel, weight distribution and balance. Sitting atop this is the integrated 3x magnification adjustable Mildot optic. It has exceptional quality for an integral optic and provides an extremely crisp image with good enough eye relief that the image can still be seen clearly even when wearing thick goggles. The crosshair features a cross design which is perfect for rapid target acquisition and precise shooting. This scope is fully adjustable for both windage and elevation using the dials located on the right side and bottom of the optic tube but requires a flat-head screwdriver to adjust.
On the top of the scope, we can find a set of built-in backup iron sights, so if you find yourself in a surprise close-quarters duel you are not at a complete disadvantage. They can also be used to track the flight path of your BBs and adjust your aim when firing at long range. Found at the front of the scope mount there is a steel sling point, the steel construction ensures that even with extra attachments mounted, the sling point will be able to support all the additional weight.
Over on the left side of the upper, we can see the charging handle of the SSR77. This handle is constructed from high-density polymer and connects to an aluminium rod inside the receiver which when drawn back, retracts the mock bolt to reveal the rotary HOP-up adjuster inside the ejection port at the rear of the rifle. The charging handle can be locked by pulling it to its rearmost point of travel and rotating it upwards into its "safety notch", which will hold the mock bolt back whilst you adjust your HOP-up. The adjustable HOP-up lets you tune the SSR77 for different ammo weights and provides an extended range by applying backspin to your BBs.
The HOP-up adjuster can be accessed from either side of the AEG thanks to its ambidextrous ejection port design. Out of the box the right side ejection port is covered with a rubber cap, but this can be removed and placed on the left side, or removed off the AEG entirely so you can more easily adjust your HOP-up setting on the fly mid-skirmish.
The controls of the SSR77 are unique compared to conventional rifles but they are still very well-designed and functional for both left and right-handed shooters. The safety catch is a push-through design located just above the pistol grip, and when the safety protrudes on the right side the rifle is on safe and the trigger is locked. Pushing the safety through to the other side will release the trigger lock and prime the rifle for shooting. The AUG makes use of a two-stage trigger system, which means a short pull of the trigger will fire semi-automatic and a full pull to the rear will fire fully automatic. The programmable trigger unit allows you to change these fire modes and disable full auto completely if you are scared of triggering it accidentally.
The pistol grip and stock of the SSR77 AUG are integrated into one piece as a part of its space-age design, known as the "chassis" of the rifle. This piece is constructed from high-density solid fibre-reinforced polymer with a high-quality textured feel. The trigger guard of the AUG is a super wide "grip length" trigger guard which is largely responsible for the AUG's recognisable silhouette and allows fast access to the trigger even if you use thick winter gloves when skirmishing. This trigger guard can also function as an angled foregrip for use in more compressed stances often displayed in CQB skirmishes.
The textured magazine release of the SSR77 A1 AUG can be found on the bottom of the stock, just behind the magazine well, and is centrally positioned to allow for ambidextrous use. Its design is a large push button that when pressed, releases the magazine and allows it to be removed. This magazine release was way ahead of others at its time of conception. Somehow, despite being one of the first modern bullpup rifles to enter the market, the AUG perfected optimal ergonomics first try. Unlike other rifles, there is no chance that you will accidentally hit the mag release and dump your magazine and you don't have to be purebred right-handed to operate this platform efficiently.
The battery compartment is located within the stock, it can be accessed by pulling off the rubber plate. Once removed, a Deans style battery connector will be revealed and a decently spacious battery compartment. For the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AUG AEG, we recommend an 11.1v 1300mAh LiPo Battery as this will provide the necessary power for this rifle to function at its peak performance
The internals of the SSR77 are incredibly advanced, boasting a CNC Hop-up chamber with a 60° flat hop infinite bucking, a 24k neodymium high torque motor, a 510mm long 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel, CNC steel gears, a steel cylinder with full-length steel piston teeth and specialised rubber padding to ensure a great air seal and promote better airflow. All these internals work harmoniously to create a beautifully firing AUG that is sure to guarantee skirmish domination in any setting.
If you want to expand your Airsoft rifle collection and want something that's both unique and high-performing, you should seriously consider the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AUG AEG. It echoes the real steel silhouette perfectly whilst boasting some powerful internals. It is a match made in heaven for any skirmisher who is serious about upping their game and standing out on the battlefield!

Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
