Description
The Lancer Tactical LT series of AEGs are one of the best options out there for anyone new to the sport and hobby of Airsoft. The AEG comes out of the box sporting a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel, rotary HOP unit, and remarkable shot-to-shot consistency, pointing to a well-tuned gearbox and also providing excellent accuracy which is hard to find in an AEG at this price point!
The LT15 is a compact M4 platform AEG with an extended tight bore inner barrel which runs through most of the suppressor length, providing impressive accuracy and a slight deadening of the muzzle report to make you harder to locate. The suppressor is constructed from polymer to prevent the front end from becoming cumbersome and slow to manoeuvre whilst still providing the sneaky look and hiding that longer than expected inner barrel.
The suppressor can be removed and replaced with any 14mm CCW compatible muzzle devices, such as a tracer unit, or sound amplifier, though you may need a barrel extension to cover the exposed inner barrel revealed when the suppressor is removed. The 5-inch outer barrel of the LT-15 is constructed from Alloy, guaranteeing strength and preventing the inner barrel from being bent or damaged.
Surrounding the outer barrel we can find a polymer 20mm quad rail handguard providing ample Picatinny rail slots at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions for mounting accessories and rail covers. This means the LT-15 is ready to mount 20mm Picatinny rail accessories right away, including PEQ laser units, and red dot sight-magnifier combinations for a more tactical look, and impressive functionality.
The iron sights come pre-installed and are polymer flip-up aperture type sights featuring windage and elevation adjustment, and two different apertures to choose from. These sights mount to the 20mm Picatinny rail on the top of the handguard and receiver and can be removed easily or swapped for any 20mm Picatinny compatible iron sights, a Red dot sight, or another optical sight of your choice.
The receiver of the LT-15 is constructed from high density polymer, providing scratch resistance and keeping the weight of the AEG down to only what is necessary to deliver its excellent performance on the skirmish field. The controls are optimised for right-handed use, though they can be used by lefties with a bit of practice. The magazine release can be found on the right side of the AEG and is textured to ensure the button gets pressed when you need it. The trigger guard installed on the LT-15 is a standard M4/AR15 flat trigger guard which can be swapped out for any M4/AR15 AEG spec trigger guard if you want a different look.
The upper receiver also features a triangular extension with a metal button at the end. This is known as the forward assist, and provides no function in an Airsoft AEG but can be pressed, and adds to the realism of the LT-15. The pistol grip is an "A2" finger ridged type featuring checkering on either side to provide ample grip for wet weather operations. This is a comfortable and familiar design to most and is perfectly suitable for most hand sizes, but can be swapped out for any M4/AR15 AEG pistol grip with the prerequisite technical knowledge.
Moving over to the left side of the receiver we can find familiar AR15 controls, with the mock bolt catch sitting dead centre and the fire selector being positioned above the pistol grip, within reach of the user's thumb. The mock bolt catch provides no function, but is a nice addition for realism, being metal and a separate part. The fire selector provides 3 positions; SAFE, SEMI and AUTO, and has a 90-degree throw between positions. The SAFE position provides a trigger lock, preventing the AEG from being fired unless the selector is in the SEMI or AUTO positions.
In order to access the LT-15's rotary HOP chamber, the charging handle must be pulled and held to the rear. This will move the realistic mock bolt carrier backward, revealing the HOP adjuster. The rotary HOP design is one of the latest innovations for the M4/AR15 platform, and provides excellent stability and retains its setting reliably. The charging handle can be found at the top rear of the receiver, and features an extended latch, ensuring you won't have trouble getting at your HOP adjuster in the heat of battle.
The stock of the LT-15 can be adjusted by holding the adjustment lever down and pulling the stock out to the desired length. This stock is a "crane enhanced carbine" style stock and mounts to a standard M4/AR15 buffer tube. The adjustment lever is located on the bottom of the stock and has texture on its surface for effective wet weather use, and the butt plate is rubberised to allow for effective use with bulky tactical gear such as a plate carrier or body armour vest.
The battery compartment of the LT15 is located within the crane enhanced carbine stock or inside the buffer tube itself, depending on your choice of battery configuration. The battery compartment can be accessed by lifting the stock adjustment lever, pulling it out as far as it will go, and then sliding the stock off the buffer tube to the rear. This will allow you to fit a buffer tube style stick battery, and there is room inside for up to a 7.4V 1300mAh LiPo battery.
Alternatively, you can remove the butt plate by squeezing the two tabs at the toe of the stock together, after which you can lift the butt plate off, remove the battery plug, and make use of the stock's built-in battery compartment to house a nunchuck/crane style battery. The LT15 has space inside the buffer tube for a 7.4V 1300mAh LiPo stick battery, or you can use a 7.4V 1300mAh LiPo crane/nunchuck battery if you are storing your battery in the stock itself. You can also make use of a 9.6V 1600mAh NiMH for extra capacity, though this will only fit in the stock battery compartment and will not fit in the buffer tube.
Internally the LT-15 is brimming with pre-upgraded parts, which is a rarity for such an affordable AEG. Inside the LT-15 we are treated to a metal version 2 gearbox with 8mm bushings and a quick change spring system. The quick change spring system makes optimising the AEG's velocity for your local skirmish sites limits a piece of cake, allowing you to squeeze that extra little bit of performance from the LT-15 when needed. As with all Lancer Tactical AEGs, the LT-15 boasts a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel which improves air seal and accuracy, and will raise the FPS slightly for a range improvement over standard 6.08mm inner barrels.
Whether you are new to the sport or a regular skirmisher looking for something light and compact to keep nearby in case your primary AEG goes down, the LT-15 would be a fine choice, offering pre-upgraded parts in a lightweight and compact form which is ready for any accessories you can throw at it!

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
