  • CO2 version - High power, not site legal
  • Incredible for target shooting - BOOM!

If you're into competitive shooting with Airsoft guns or simply like to see beverage cans explode in the garden, this is the M870 for you! The Golden Eagle Type 870 M8871 Tactical Shotgun; CO2 Version hits out at a scary 400 FPS on 0.2g BBs approximately, meaning it isn't site-legal for skirmishing but makes a devasting target shooting platform with the added satisfaction of its awesome pump action mechanism and 3 or 6 shot fire modes.

Constructed with the same superb quality full metal exterior as the Green Gas version, the M8871 is ready for a red dot sight or scope to be mounted and comes equipped with highly functional ghost ring iron sights for those who prefer a minimalist setup. QD sling sockets are present on either side of the receiver and the set includes a QD sling swivel, ready for a single-point sling setup. If you'd love a shotgun but don't play much CQB, this CO2 powered menace would be the perfect backyard plinker!

Description

If you love a bit of backyard target shooting, this is the shotgun for you! The Golden Eagle Type 870 M8871 Tactical Shotgun; CO2 Version boasts a much higher power level than the Green Gas Version, hitting out at around 400 FPS. This means it is not skirmish site legal but will make an absolute mess of a coke can on the backyard range with a booming muzzle report and the oh-so-sweet satisfaction of a realistic pump action operating mechanism.

Starting at the front of the Golden Eagle Type 870 M8871 Railed Gas Shotgun we are met with a wide outer barrel. This is typical shotgun fashion,  where the wide barrel is required for fitting the shotgun slugs in. This isn't necessary for an Airsoft shotgun due to the small nature of a BB, but staying true to the Remington model 870 silhouette gains bonus points from realism fans and of course, it looks awesome!

Sitting atop the barrel we find the front iron sight post. It is a small piece of raised metal with white light enhancing insert encased within it. This serves its purpose well and allows you to quickly line up a shot to blast any opponents who come your way, a massive improvement over standard black sights.

Moving downwards from the front sight post, we find the magazine tube. This is functional but not like the real one is, instead serving to store up to two spare shell magazines. To access this nifty storage compartment, simply unscrew the front cap below the barrel. The magazine tube is spring loaded so just be ready to catch your shells before they pop out and end up on the floor! Attached to the cap there is a Harris style sling point which allows Harris style sling loops to be mounted; ideal for those who prefer a two-point sling.

Attached to the magazine tube we find the pump action handle. This black polymer piece has ridges on to ensure a sturdy grip when racking the Type 870 M8871. When racked back, it makes a satisfying clicking noise, which is also heard when pushing it back into place and arming the shotgun. It runs on alloy cocking arms just below the outer barrel and is surprisingly easy to rack for such a menacing platform. The fast pump action can easily put a huge number of rounds down range in a short timeframe, only limited by the 30-round shell capacity.

Next, we come to the receiver, it is constructed from one piece of alloy and has a black finish applied to it. On the left side, we find the mock ejection port, which would shoot out spent shells if this were the real thing. It does serve a purpose though, when the pump handle is racked back, the ejection port slightly opens and you have access to the fire controls. Having the switch pushed towards the stock, the shotgun is in 3-rnd mode and when pushed towards the barrel the shotgun is in 6-rnd mode.

On top of the receiver, we find a short section of Picatinny rail with a ghost ring-style iron sight at the rear of it. This section is perfect for mounting a red dot-style sight. Or, if you are slightly unhinged and feel like making a statement, go crazy and mount a 3-9X50 Rifle Scope and try your best to snipe some targets at long range!

Underneath the receiver, we find where the shotgun is loaded using the 30rnd capacity shotgun shell. It's definitely not a conventional magazine but it is more than appropriate for this Type 870 M8872. The shells are loaded using a speedloader and then the shell is inserted into the shotgun. Every time the shotgun is cocked, 3 or 6 BBs are loaded from the shell into the gun, ready to be fired. To release the shell after all the BBs are spent, push all the way back on the tab found on the front of the trigger guard.

This shotgun features a safety control which is found at the rear of the trigger guard. It is a push-through style button. When it protrudes out the right side of the trigger guard the gun is on safe and the trigger locks, when it sticks out the left side, it is not on safe and can be fired if it is armed.

At the rear, we are equipped with the prolific M4/AR-15 buffer tube, compatible with almost every aftermarket M4/AR-15 stock on the market. The buffer tube offers 6 adjustment positions for the pre-installed "Colt LE" style stock which itself features a built-in sling point. Inside the buffer tube, you'll find the CO2 compartment, requiring a flat tool or Allen key to access and insert your 12g CO2 capsule. Insert your CO2 capsule with the piercing end facing downrange, then tighten the cap back down. Being powered by CO2 means awesome cold weather performance but hitting out at around 400 FPS means this M870 is unlikely to be skirmish site legal.

If you want to absolutely shred cola cans and targets on your backyard range, the Golden Eagle Type 870 M8871 Tactical Shotgun; CO2 Version is the one to go for. With a mighty 3 or 6 shots per trigger pull and an incredible 400 FPS peak power, this shotgun is satisfying and devasting in equal measure!
