Description
If you want a bit of extra noggin protection without the weight and airflow issues of ballistic helmet replicas, the FAST BJ Helmet Replica from FMA will suit you perfectly. Based on the real "Base Jump/Bump" version of the famous FAST helmet, this lid has the same high cut, comms-friendly shape as the Ballistic, PJ and Maritime FAST helmet but with a built-in NVG mount to save weight and ports on the top of the shell to promote airflow. This helmet also comes with ARC accessory rails pre-installed on either side, ready to be decked out!
The ARC rails allow for direct mounting of ARC rail accessories such as ear/face protectors and communications headsets and also have integral goggle strap mounts on either side which can be disconnected quickly and easily. Each ARC rail has a bungee NVG retaining lanyard which is stored flat against the helmet when not in use, hooking into the recesses in the NVG mount. These bungee cords can be hooked onto your night vision device or action camera to give an extra level of protection in a worst-case scenario, such as a failure of the mount.
Included with the helmet are some additional internal pads and Velcro stickers to allow you to set the pads inside up to suit your brain compartment perfectly. External velcro is also provided so you can add patches to the outside of the lid and style it up to suit your loadout. If you have an action camera or NVG mounted to the front and the helmet becomes unbalanced you can add a counterweight pouch to the FAST BJ/Bump and fill it with weights or a USB power bank. Counterweight pouches can also be used to house an anti-fog unit, including the EXFog and the Novritsch Anti-Fog Unit.
The helmet suspension is fully adjustable and the inside of the chinstrap has a comfortable suede-like material, guaranteeing comfort when the helmet is properly adjusted. The OCC dial on the back of the suspension allows you to tighten the helmet once it is on your head and the chinstrap is adjusted, providing a super snug fit with no slop or rotation possible. Those who have sprinted wearing a MICH or older helmet style will know how much it slides around, but with the OCC dial tightened effectively there is no chance of this happening with an OCC dial-equipped FAST helmet.
