EMG Taran Tactical Innovations JW2 EU34 Combat Master GBB Pistol

The EMG Taran Tactical Innovations JW2 EU34 Combat Master GBB is based on the TTI EU34 used by our hero in John Wick: Chapter 2, making use of the same slide as the movie pistol combined with EMG's OMEGA enhanced frame. The JW2 boasts full metal construction, with a flawlessly machined aluminium slide which provides a striking silver-on-black colour scheme which is sure to stand out. The outer barrel is finished in bronze, a TTI hallmark which makes this pistol the perfect pairing for a JW3 or JW4 GBB and also makes a nice alternative to the Hi-capa based John Wick pistols for those who prefer an EU-series platform. 

On both sides of the slide, the JW2 proudly displays its real steel lineage in the form of laser engraved Taran Tactical markings and the TTI logo. Whether you collect John Wick pistols or this is your first, the EMG TTI JW2 may not make you shoot like the boogie man but its plethora of enhancements including super grippy stippling, a wide flared magazine well and trigger guard undercuts should get you a bit closer!

At the tip of the outer barrel, we can find 12mm CCW female threading, opening up the opportunity to mount a tracer unit or suppressor using an APS 12mm CCW female to 14mm CCW male thread adapter. The outer barrel itself is finished in bronze, a nod to the real pistol and a nice bit of contrast to mark the JW2 out as a custom pistol design. 

The slide itself is bevelled at the front end to allow the JW2 to be holstered more quickly and easily than a standard EU34, reducing the chances that a snag will inhibit you mid-game. The front iron sight can be found at the top front of the slide and is a light-enhancing front sight with a green insert, making it easier to pick up in low-light situations and guaranteeing that the front sight cannot be mixed up with the rear sight while working under pressure. The rear sight is a flat and wide combat-style sight, designed for strength and with anti-glare serrations machined into the surface. 

The slide is ported at the sides and top, reducing weight and thereby improving gas efficiency and rapid fire performance. The bronze-coloured outer barrel is visible through the ports, adding a recognisable accent which any John Wick fan would instantly recognise. The side is also serrated at the front and rear, making it easy to rack no matter how you choose to do it and reinforcing the customised looks of the JW2. The serrations are swept back for a dynamic look and are remarkably deep, guaranteeing you will never slip off the slide during wet weather, even without gloves.

Taran Tactical Innovations trademarks can be found on either side of the slide, with a discrete engraving on the top for the more observant. The trades on the sides are laser engraved in white, making them stand out and signalling the JW2's high-end real steel lineage. The markings on the right side read "Combat Master" in TTI's signature font, with a TTI logo just to the rear of the slide port. At the top of the slide, we are treated to two TTI logos, one in recessed engravings just in front of the chamber and another just in front of the rear iron sight. Over on the right side, we have "Taran Tactical Innovations" with another TTI logo, just in case you forgot what it looks like!

Moving down to the frame, anyone who knows their way around an EU series will see that this isn't just a normal frame. Known as the "OMEGA" frame, this enhanced frame was designed for EMG and is based on real steel Timberwolf frames. The usual EU-series rail has been replaced with a 20mm Picatinny frame rail, giving you more options than ever before when it comes to mounting tactical flashlights, lasers and other mission-essential doo-dads. The trigger guard has also been reprofiled, with undercuts to allow for a higher grip and a recurved front face to provide extra support from your reaction hand when shooting with modern techniques. 

Surrounding the grip and in choice locations on each side we are treated to stippling, a hallmark of modern customised handguns which provides exceptional gripping qualities. Stippling is favoured by both tactical shooters and competitive shooters in the real steel world thanks to its high traction, with or without gloves. This stippling is very aggressive, beating out the mock stippling found on other Airsoft pistols and keeping the JW2 firmly in your grasp during rapid strings of fire while minimising the potential to launch the pistol across the site during a speedy quick-draw!

The magazine release is located on the left side of the frame, where it meets the trigger guard. This is a low-profile magazine release design which has learned the lessons of the Gen.4 EU series; that sometimes less is more! Low-profile magazine releases are often favoured by combat shooters due to the minimal chance of accidentally dropping your mag if the pistol isn't gripped perfectly. Despite its low profile design, the JW2 mag release is easily accessible while avoiding being easy to hit inadvertently, boasting texture on the surface to ensure this essential control remains functional in any weather conditions. 

The trigger is a flat "speed" type trigger, patterned after the real TTI trigger used on the JW2. The trigger design is intended to promote easy rapid firing but keeps the EU series two-stage safety trigger to prevent the trigger from being pulled unintentionally. The trigger feels absolutely fantastic when cycled; EMG and APS have clearly paid close attention when it comes to providing a crisp, tactile and realistic trigger reset. 

At the base of the grip, we have what is known as a "flared magazine well extension", designed to allow for faster and easier reloads, especially when keeping your eyes up scanning for your next target. This type of device originated in the competition shooting world but more and more frequently finds itself featured on combat pistols thanks to its high functionality when the adrenaline is pumping. The flared magazine well allows you to reload far quicker and easier than without and only adds to the speedy, enhanced looks of the JW2, blending well with its other enhanced features for a real looker of a sidearm. 

The adjustable HOP-up of the JW2 is located on the outer barrel and is accessible when the slide is removed and the pistol is in "field stripped" condition. To remove the slide, first remove the magazine, then rack the slide. With this done, pull the two tabs just above the trigger guard on either side of the frame down and push the slide off the front of the frame. The HOP-up dial is located on the bottom of the outer barrel, allowing for adjustment for different weights of ammo so you can tune the trajectory of your projectiles, seeking the flattest possible flight path.
